YAY!!! KATE'S NOT GOING TO AUSTRALIA!!  I mean, "aw shucks, Kate's not going to Australia and now I guess we can go on this cruise." :teeth:

She doesn't think that she can handle being so far away for so long. Little does she know that her Mommy would be tackling her by her ankles at the airport and begging her not to go. ;)

So...it's looking good. Now I can let myself get excited!! Eleven days with my May repo buddies and new friends. YAY!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Hey Regina! YAY! Sorry to hear that Kate will not be going to Australia though. Aimee is madder than anything that she can not go on this cruise! :rotfl:

Hi everyone! :wave2:

It is going to take me forever to read through what I missed while I was gone! I am officially a Florida homeowner now, and I LOVE my new place! I cryed on the way to the airport this morning, and when the plane was taking off.

I hope to be moved for good in the next 3 weeks, so I won't have much time to be on the boards or I won't get much packed. (can I find a condensed version somewhere? :rotfl2: )

Thanks Elaine! I know all about the Florida resident discounts, and definately intend on taking advantage of them! :goodvibes Yes, the mystery person is no longer a mystery to me anymore :teeth: If a year from now, things are as they are now, I am going to have to recruit a new cruiser onboard. :rotfl:

Have a good day everyone!

Hi everyone!!!

Back from the Magic. What a bummer being back home. The week went by so fast.

As you all probably know, the Magic was rerouted from the original itinerary. Sunday we spent at Castaway Cay. Tuesday we were in Grand Cayman. Wednesday we were in Cozumel and on Thursday we were in Costa Maya.

The weather was good, we didn't really have too much trouble from all the hurricanes. Seas were calm for the most part. Captain Thord took really good care of us.

Heard some more rumors for '07. Most cast members think they are going east. It could be either Mediterranean or maybe French Riviera. One cast member said something about Disneyland Paris land/sea packages. Alaska will have to wait, according to one cast member, since the Magic has been in warm water since she started sailing, there would have to be a MAJOR drydock. The whole ship would have to be repainted with a special paint for the colder seas. So, I'm crossing my fingers for a trans-Atlantic repo to either Italy or France for 2007 and I plan to be on it.

Anyone have any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them.

Emily

Happy moving! What will happen to ladie's night at Palos if the mystery person comes?
My grandchildren think they were born to cruise and visit WDW.

Congrats on the move, Robin. I am trying to adjust to new siding on my home so I really admire your change.

Another celebration to add :cheer2: will be my 50th :sunny: on 9/22. If I can convince JWeiss (Jennifer) to do this cruise - we will be celebrating her birthday on 9/25.

What do you mean convince? I thought she was coming on this one. Susan, you will not be 50 next year! Tell the truth! :goodvibes Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday!!!!

Hi everyone! Been out for a week. Been too busy working on budgets to present to the board and am headed out to Atlanta for convention in another week, so no free time.

When we were on the Wonder for the Member Cruise, I ran into the VP of DCL as we were getting off the cruise. Since we were the last ones off the ship, I opened up my suitcase and had Captain Henry sign my DVC ship that I had purchased in the shop. Anyway, asked them both about the itineraries for 2007. DCL VP (isn't his name Tom also?), told me that the "special" 2007 dates would not be released until spring 2006. I said "oh-so we have to wait one year out like the PC for you to annouce the Meditteranean?" He just smiled, chuckled a little and said we would have to wait and see, but to expect the "special itineraries" about the same time as the PC cruise was announced in 2004. (I think that was May 5, 2004).

That's the info I got.

Linda

I love these little teasers. I am watching the 2007 itineraries with great interest. Anywhere in Europe would be great. It probably would be the only way I will get there soon.

I wonder how long a transatlantic would take? Maybe they would do the east coast to southhamptom, england bit that most do and then continue from there?

I wonder if they will do Paris- esp. with the recent love the french have had of us? :rotfl2: I think they would do packages to there, but I don't think Paris would be the major feature with the strong feelings many American/Frechmen have towards each other at this time.

I know there is a STRONG base of Brits that come over EVERY year...however I think they will do the Mediter. with the Magic and that the wonder will do the carribean- hence the "trial cruise" we are doing and that they will stop the 3 and 4 day cruises over the summer. Someone told me that they thought Disney would announce a new built ship for 2007- I told them no way- but maybe they would announce they would build a new ship that year- but that it wouldn't be done by then.

By the way- United Airline's magazine Herispheres did some great articles on cruise ships this month, but no references to DCL.

From what we were told, right now the plans for the new ship have been scrapped, due to, of course, the rate of the Euro. The new ship was supposed to be bigger, I don't know if it would be longer, but we were told it would have at least two more decks added.

The cast members were asked for their opinion on the name and the two names I heard were the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasmic.

I too, would like to know how long a trip it would be. I would say at least 2 and half weeks, maybe more. I also think there would be fewer ports of call, which wouldn't bother me, I like sea days. I just hope they announce them soon, it's driving me crazy. I just hope we'll be able to go on it.

Emily

Did a little bit of research. From New York to Southampton, England takes a week. So if the Magic did do a trans-Atlantic, would we sail up the coast to NY and then go over or would we take a different route? How many days would it take to sail to NY? I wonder what ports we would stop at?

I'm sure they would stop at CC or there would be mutiny!
