Hey Mike! What was on the menu down there?

Nothing special here. I made glazed ham, smashed taters, noodles, green beans and deviled eggs. For dessert, we had leftover easter candy.:thumbsup2

Hope everyone had a great day.

Nothing special Bob. Here we had green beans cooked with a smoked ham hock and cayenne pepper. Skillet fried corn, potato salad, pea salad, fruit salad, glazed ham, brown and serve rolls. Wife made a banana pudding from scratch, I made two of my mom's chocolate fudge pies, brownies, sweet tea and candied sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top. Blood sugar is shot to hades, but Easter on comes once a year.

We also were able to catch one of the young bunnies as you can see in my signature. Mike

Glad to see you all had great dinners yesterday - we did have ham but just rice and corn for sides and a berry pie. We are in the middle of a huge spring cleaning project with Drew's Eagle ceremony this coming weekend so we stopped long enough to eat and got right back at it. I hope that either the snow stays or leaves early enough so we can get the yard picked up.

Mike - that 'bunny' is adorable!

Gail-
We just started Noah in scouts, so I have a lot of respect for you and Drew's Eagle project/ceremony!

Good job!

Good job!

David is an Eagle Scout as well as being the scoutmaster for the troop. Our oldest is an Eagle too. I firmly believe that David will be involved in scouting even after our own are finished (and since Drew will be 18 in June that is soon) - he really enjoys it. They all started in Cubs (I was even a cubmaster) but once they got to Boy Scouts, I let David take over.

I remember telling Cub Scouts that 1 in every 100 boys that started in Scouts would become Eagle Scouts but I think that has improved to 2 or 3 in every 100 now. It takes time and with school, sports, jobs and girls that time becomes scarce. Plus, I am not really sure it is a very "cool" thing these days.

But, it makes me proud none the less.

I like that David!!!! ;)

Mike, I think my sugar rose just reading that menu! Yummy! Bob my Nanny makes the best deviled eggs ever. She claims her secret is finely minced onions and celery seed. I craved them all day yesterday.

My crazy dh was actually trying to talk me into cancelling our June WDW trip and going on the med cruise  I shot that down pretty quick. I'd love to go but we can't take that much time off work. Kids have a lot going on. Alex is going to NYC and Amber is going to Costa Rica for college with a study abroad group. Maybe next time....

Oh WOW! Chocolate Fudge Pie!?! I'm afraid to ask what's in that, but it sounds wonderful. Sounds like a great meal Mike. When's the next one.:lmao:

Will have to try them that way. Just for the record though, I don't care for deviled eggs. Lee and my kids like them and I learned to make them from my mom, so I am the deviled egg chef.

Plenty of room on the eastbound repo Cyndi and Kevin.

Bob it is my mom's recipe and makes two 9 inch pies.
Mama’s Chocolate Fudge Pies
Preheat oven to 350 °

In a pan, melt 1-3/4 sticks of butter
Combine 6 heaping tablespoons of Cocoa
Melt butter over low heat add cocoa to blend
Add 2-1/2 cups of sugar
Add 4 large eggs beaten
1 tablespoon of flour
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tsp of vanilla
Pour mixture into 2- 9 inch pie shells
Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes until tops crack.

Allow pies to cool before cutting. Can be eaten as is, or with vanilla ice cream on top or whipped cream.

Richer than Riche Rich.

Mike

Thanks Mike. That one's a keeper. Anything that starts out with butter has to be good. The sugar and cocoa doesn't hurt either.:lmao:

Think I'd better wait until after the repo cruise before I try it. Might not fit into my tux after one or two of those.

I think I need a glass of milk!!!! Sounds really, really good.

Tink- I can understand where Kevin was coming from, I would like to go on the Med repo cruise too. However, I also understand about taking too much time off and having busy lives. What is a DCL lover to do?

I now want deviled eggs AND Chocolate pie.....you're all evil. :scared:

Wow great menus, but as Bob says better wait till after the cruise. I have a PT test on May 8.

Congrats to Drew, well done.

I think Scouts are KEWL!!! Good stuff is learned there that will play out throughout ones life.

Yep, travel agent has a sweetheart deal for that cruise. The ONLY way we could possibly go on that cruise is if we can use sky miles for the airfare.

Otherwise, my happy butt will be parked in a MK view room at the GF for a week in June, hopping the parks by day and drowning in my kungaloosh by night, trying to forget how stinkin' old I'm getting! :lmao: So if anyone wants to join us June 9-17 bring it on! I'll be the ridiculous looking grown woman at CRT on the morning of my bday in a tiara, fairy wand, and a t-shirt that reads BippityBoppityBotox.

Hey Cindy, check out the Disney Shopping on line they have some kewl Tink Stuff

Thanks for the tip Scott. I'm always scoping out new Tink stuff. I bought 2 new tink tshirts last week. That brings the total up to 7- so I can wear tink everyday of the week now
