I have a question. Now that we can't bring wine (and my beloved PEPSI) in carry-on luggage.....what is the risk involved with putting it in my checked luggage for the flight from Phoenix? Will champagne explode?

I wouldn't trust the champagne but wine would be fine. Anything carbonated I'd be leery about on the plane. Why not ship it to the ship? That's what I'm doing. Or you could stop at a liquor store in Florida. I'm shipping mine down for the first cruise because we're taking the DCL shuttle to the port but for the second one, I'm either buying down there or shipping it to my twin :teeth:

Good Morning!/Afternoon folks!

Just got up. We skipped the hike yesterday on account of the mid day heat and possibly more than anything else.... we skipped because I whimped out. It was getting humid in the afternoon and I sort of semi-shut down - with only strength enough to drive to an air conditioned resort and valet the car! LOL!

Seriously, we skipped the hike cuz it WUZ BLAZING HOT and we needed a certain minimum amount of time to make a visit with a cousin worth the journey. So - we visited with her cousin and took them to a nice dinner. SO today is an unstructured day. The girls went to a kick boxing session and I have the kids for a couple hours. Then I get a couple of hours to run off and do my thing.

And.... for the moment all is relatively calm here so I get to surf and lurk a bit. As such I noticed there were only 22 pages of posts since my last contribution to the madnesss here. Hmmm.... what's that come to ... well let's just count... and it's just 328 postings? No sweat! LOL!

You guys are going overboard here... as if I'm NOT either?!?! :confused3

I would buy whatever you need before you head to the port, after you arrive in FL.

Or the mail ahead option is excellent as well. We have done this, the items arrived in our cabin before we did. Works great.

Would it be ok to put drink in a normal pull along bag as handluggage

Unless the new restrictions have eased up...no drinks at all in carry on/hand luggage.

Carrying it on the ship is ok. On a plane it is not. I called DCL recently and confirmed that the new regulations hasn't changed the way they handle it.

I would probably buy my liquor on the ground in the Orlando area. Saves on the lugging and TSA hassels. No risk of catastropic breakage in transit too.

Is that for the cruise or for flights? I thought the cruise regulations were different

That is for flights. We usually always have liquor in or carryon or our checked luggage at the DCL terminal. No problem at all there. They have not added any new restrictions.
