You poor girl, good thing you have the DIS to entertain you throughout the day!
Have a great cruise!

After a holiday on Mondays it's always a hard week because I don't get paid for all the hours I usually work on Mondays and either have to make them up or take vacation. That means 10 hour days Tues, Wed and Thurs. Plus extra due to the 3 weeks off.

You might want to check on the "drive thru" volcano, Wife and I toured the volcano last year and we had to walk...they droped us off at the visitors center, watched a film and then walked on a guided tour. The walk was not hard, but if you are planning on pushing a stoller, it might get tough...Plus the sulpher smell can be quite strong. After the tour, the taxi was waiting for us at the back gate. If you do the tour, make the tour operator stop and pick a cocoa beandrumbumswife said:Oh my, let's just say there is a reason I don't do helicopters and I drive 20 hours in the car with 2 dc under 2and I like to take cruises...This coming from someone in the travel industry, how embarassing.
Also drove to Alaska, just myself and ds, gotta love the Alaskan Marine Highway and for good reason!
That is a great offer and if I was as adventurous in the air as I am on the ground I would take it in an instant!
On to the next islands I suppose, I am just joining you all so please excuse me if this has all been done already. I am visiting p1p5 for the updates, etc. Please comment on anything.
Barbados - My dd will love the monkey's but I am not sure the tour allows enough time for us, thinking of doing that on our own.
St. Lucia - Want to do the drive thru volcano and the Springs, again not sure the tour will allow enough time to relax in the springs and a 6 hour car ride with the little ones without car seats seems interesting! Although it is broken up.
The seeds are incredible
I'm not trying to scare you from taking this tour, just warning about the walking.Kborn said:You might want to check on the "drive thru" volcano, Wife and I toured the volcano last year and we had to walk...they droped us off at the visitors center, watched a film and then walked on a guided tour. We only walked for about 45 - 1 hour, after the guided part, you can wander around or back track and see more if you like, I don't know what is involved in the 6 hour tour, I know it will take about 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get to the volcano. We stayed at a little resort about 5 min. from the volcano and the taxi driver said it would take that long to get to the city where the cruise ship stop. They only have 2 lane, winding roads, and they HONK THE HORN ALOT!LetsGoSteelers said:how long is the walk? and also, what do you guys recommend by way of insect repellent? is it needed? I've only found Repel and Off (Woodsman), are those ok?
You should not need bug spray for this tour, the supher seems to keep them away.Scott H said:Those Crocs are KEWL, I must admit I contacted Crocks and offer to test a pair of the Disney Crocs on our cruise. You should have seen the letter I wrote, LOL. While they appreciated my offer, I learned that they will be available only through Disney, not even direct from Crocs.
Then in a search I see that the Disney Crocs fro kids will be offered at a couple of places on line. Just Google Disney Crocs.![]()
Are you talking about the mineral springs at the volcano? If you are, You might contact Disney and find out if you can use the springs, when we went, Late Aug. - last year, the springs were too hot. They would only let people in them at night.....drumbumswife said:The tour that DCL offers is for the drive thru volcano. I am wondering about the 6 hour tour and not enough time in the springs, oh I want to soak in those badly!
I don't mind walking with them, we are avid hikers and have been out as long as 3 hours, a bit too long...I have backpacks I use rather than lugging the strollers around. I usually have dh though, my Mom has a bad back so we will see!
I hope this is not the case, I hope they have more springs futher away. That sounds better, I did not know of these springs, the only one's they told us about was at the volcano....drumbumswife said:Nearby are the Diamond Mineral Baths (tel. 758/452-4759) in the Diamond Botanical Gardens. Deep in the lush tropical gardens is the Diamond Waterfall, one of the geological attractions of the island. Created from water bubbling up from sulfur springs, the waterfall changes colors (from yellow to black to green to gray) several times a day. The baths were constructed in 1784 on the orders of Louis XVI, whose doctors told him these waters were similar in mineral content to the waters at Aix-les-Bains; they were intended to provide recuperative effects for French soldiers fighting in the West Indies. The baths have an average temperature of 106°F (41°C). For EC$15 (US$5.55), you can bathe and try out the recuperative effects for yourself. There is a US$4 entrance fee.
