Tony, Glad your docs arrived.

Stopped at a sporting good store on the way home as they had a sale going, Scott’s score – 0 , Lynn’s score two pair of Capri’s, Lynn’s better score, “I don’t have my wallet” .

Way to go Lynn! :rotfl2:

so - what will everyone be doing 2 weeks from today???

We have dinner reservations at California Grill at 9:00 in hopes to catch the fireworks so I imagine we will be headed over there to get checked in early and request a window seat.

We will be at the Radisson. We will have had lunch/dinner and drinks at grills. Hopefully met up with some of you at the Radisson pool. We will go to bed early, as we like to get up, watch the ship come in early in the morning, then have breakfast at Grills before getting on the ship.

This will be my last post tonight! I have to drive now. Sorry I can't be of any help with the 20,000 post goal :rotfl2: Anyhoo, I ate at tacobell, not much, just a mexican pizza minus the meat. Then I walked over to starbucks and got a nonfat chai latte. I just couldn't help myself. Back on my diet tomorrow though! Got clothes to fit into!

Drive Safely.

Well, looks like I am all alone tonight. We went over to the Improv, saw Rich Vos..he was excellent. Bonnie Mcfarlin was with him, didn't like her on Last Comic Standing, but she was really funny tonight. The warm up comic..a local was outstanding. With the right manager he could have a great career.

Well, goodnight everyone.

Just got back from taking the family swimming. The sunset tonight was a real pretty one with those pink highlights on high level clouds with a nice half moon or something like that peeking through the cloud cover. Not sure what phase the moon was in as it was a glancing thing as I was talking on the cell the whole time I was there.

So... I don't know if it qualifies as "getting a life" since we've just been cleaning house and resting more or less from our last trip while in preparation for the upcoming cruise. Wierd though... as we usually would not waste a long holiday weekend like this by staying home. But with the trip last week and the cruise - what choice have we as we are BEAT and in need of rest!

OK... nuf of dat....

Anyone else 'round 'cept the few of us who have recently posted :confused3 ? All U florida folks must be gettin' sleepy with 11PM rollin' up now.....

Tonights' sunset was a lot like this one from Pembrokeshire... and I have been to Pembrokeshire!

But I would like to announce that after being on this diet for a month-I'm going to TACO BELL!

I can't take it anymore! I'm running for the border! Only this one time though. I have also been a month without anything from Starbucks, but I will resist the sugar trap. Only a mexican pizza with no meat and no green onions for me today, well and maybe some pintos and cheese :teeth: tomorrow I'll jump back on the wagon.........

YIKES! If I gotta take care of my Mexican craving it sure as hell won't be Taco HELL!

Of course I am spoiled being in Mexico every few months...

I was going to diet before this cruise (weight has been up by 10 pounds due to 12-15 hour days working at my desk). But I never got around to it yet. Considering I average a pound a day weight gain on a cruise, I'll be wearing nothing other than my dresses made from pareos for a while. :sad1:

The older I get - the less I care - I was stick thin for many years - add a few years and slower metabolism and four kids.. I do feel awful healthwise not getting enough exercise. But at least on this cruise I plan to do plenty of walking, swimming, snorkeling, etc. So I'm going to EAT WHAT I WANT!

Funny little note...I borrow my oldest DD's prom dresses for cruises - it worked in the past. Last spring I just grabbed two and brought them along. I had altered one because it was too big for me a year before on a cruise. I ended up not even wearing one, because I would have had to alter it again - but NOT to make it smaller this time! Thank goodness the other one had spandex - I need to hug whoever invented that!

I love food, I love wine and Margaritas, and actually I even like to exercise - I just don't have the time anymore. One of these days I'm actually going to have to hire employees, or give out referral business so I can get off my a$$ and go excercise. Sitting at a computer over 12 hours a day, 7-days per week is just not good for a body... :surfweb: :badpc:

Evening all!!!!

Well the party is finally over and went relatively well. We didn't quite have everything done, but it still looked good and everyone really liked it. Jason & I are exhausted. We were up most of last night trying to get things done and up early this morning trying to finish.

Later gang!!!! I'm tired.

OK...

On a seperate note - my spouse has become less scary - so I am still hangin' around. Just took care of getting the kids a late lunch. When Alicia tried to serve lunch she had little luck and complain such to me. SO - I briefly got in trouble again for heating Chef-Boy-R-Dee ravoli for them. You know - the same old song about procesed food and high fat content. I only snared relief when I commented that I didn't BUY the stuff to begin with... and then it grew earily quiet. Harumph!

SO I left to ween the kids off their uneaten Ravoli in favor of starving them til dinner - and I took it upon myself to do the nobel thing and eat the ravoli myself to spare the children...<burp>.... after adding some "good" pasta sauce from a bottle to it.

And it seems you've now briefly met my spouse. I came by to reread my recent posts concerning her. SHe chuckled over it with an occasional lightning bolt glance my my. LOL!

Don't you remember the Bill Cosby routine with feeding the kids chocolate cake? Got most of the food groups in there... chef Boy-R-Dee = vegetables (ok, technically tomatoes are fruit), grains and protein.

So where do you go in Mexico (I noticed you're a TA)...

... we've been to a few places in Mexico but have not exhausted the concept by any means. A little about us in Mexico... we've done a cruise that hit Alapcuco, Manzania, and ??? ... and we've done one land spiff to the Moon Palace in Cancun. Aside from that we have not seen anything more south of Ensenada. We would consider travel more to Mexico if we knew when the "smart" or "experienced" travelers go - and for what. We are happy to get out and balance a resort with exploring the near by points of interest and we tend to be fairly independent sorts.

Aside from that - we've done Asia and europe a few times. Most via independent travel... and we've done a few guided land tours and maybe 15-17 cruises. Varies with me or my spouse. She's done 2 without me before we met. I lived a sheltered life. Worked in the family retail business which never closed 365 days a year... I used to think THAT was normal.

I'll let YOU tell my spouse that one. I don't need another withering glance from her this evening....

Oh... she just came over to snap some more at me... now she's complaining I was walking bare foot at the pool and I did not wash my feet upon or right after entering the house. You would begin to wonder about us - as in have we REALLY spent 22 years together and 11 years married? Or is it more like repeating the 1st year of dating 22 times?

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Maybe I don't really want to hear the answer to that one.... ;)

I just noticed your blog link... fascinating drainage and ICU comments. We have several folks in various aspects of medicine and I personally would agree that ICU is an important but potentially controversial place to be in. Plus, we have family in Chicago too. Sort of near Cicero and Diversy. I have had business interests there and as such, before we had kids - I'd get out there 2-4x a year. I used to always schedule business near Halloween so that I could go trick or treatin' with my nephews. It became a ritual. Now I have kids and my 50%+ travel has dropped to 2-3% annual travel. Life has changed and I miss Chicago plus many of the other places I used to haunt. But on the other hand I would not trade the times with my kids for ANY of the business travel (or lost business) that I've missed these past few years.

Oh well...

Cheers... I don't blog but maybe some day I'll learn more about how it's done and start. Your Blog page is one of the first half dozen I've paused to view at any length.

Cheers!

Thanks for looking. I need to update it....I was BUSY at work this weekend! :rolleyes1 I've got a long, long run in the morning and I am on call for the "other" job tomorrow from 7a to 7p.

Getting ready to go to bed, but I am trying to catch up first.

I'm all for hitting milestones, within reason. I tend to skip a lot of the posts when people are just posting to get to the century marks so I hope no one posts anything important around then.

I'm going to post something here that may upset a few people. But I'm not one to bite my tongue for long. This has been bothering me since I signed up here.

Tracy makes a VERY good point. I can't believe how obsessed people are with "milestones." It makes it VERY hard for anyone that is a newbie to this board to try and find "REAL" information.

I jumped in and posted a few around one of the big milestones the other day - making a joke of it - but I don't think anyone even looked at it like a joke...

I have a few questions I'd love to ask, but I'm afraid I'll never find the answers. Some days I just can't check this board, or have to skim through quickly to try and catch up. It is actually very annoying for anyone trying to find real information to use this board. Unfortunately, when it comes to Disney crusing, there isn't much info on Cruise Critic, like you can find for most other cruises.

I know of one board that split into a Q&A, and a "Chatter" board to fix this problem. That would sure have made things easier with this sailing. On a "chatter" board you could post away to your heart's content with rambling nonsense that has nothing to do with cruising.

Isn't the reason they provide an opportunity to use these boards, to assist people with questions about a cruise? And to give opportunity for people on the same cruise to set up group events, etc.? I really don't think it is to use as much bandwidth as possible, with filler posts, just to try to reach some landmark number of postings.

I've seen mention of the "DIS" people on other boards now - not all in "good light." I'm afraid you might scare off people with the "secret society" that seems to go on within threads for a sailing. I haven't seen anything quite like this with any other cruiseline. I'm hoping the stories I've just read about some sailings did not include any of the people here. If so, I'm a little scared to even go on this cruise now.

My hope is that things just started to get a little out of hand here among friends that have been posting together for a year in anticipation. Obviously there will be postings about what is going on in real life - especially between people that have made a connection - that is not at issue. But posting just to obtain numbers...ramblings...dribblings...that is a mess to sort through for someone just looking for info.

Two weeks to go - not sure if I'm as excited as I was or not...at least I know we have some great ports!

I am working today, and they keep interupting my reading the DISboards. I worked 62 hours last week, 68 hours this week. Have to get ahead for the 21 days of cruising with all the excursions and gratuities! At least the wine is all paid for. Alex

I begged to get called off for 4 hours today so I could be ensured that I could work on Monday- for 12 hours of OT. I was lucky and got to leave at 4pm- without pay, but it should make it more likely that I will get to work on the holiday and help pay for all of my excursions.... If we will have any patients on the other hand, is another story. Only 5 when I left today. :guilty:
