One thing you could do for the Bubba Mug pic, of course do one with everyone, but then in front of the statue of Ariel you could build a Bubba Mug pyramid. :lmao:

Have a good afternoon everyone!!!! I'm on my way out for the evening. Finally, it's been the day from hell, if it was going to go wrong it did. Later guys, time for an alcoholic stress reliever. :thumbsup2

how is that possible? I was under the understanding that booking as early as possible was the cheapest way to go and that it just went up more as it got closer to the cruise

Well ....

.... these things are priced based on how well they're doing at any given time BEFORE the sail date. IE... they have a history of selling say 10% of the ship 18 months in advance and 50% at 12 months. If they sell 20% at 18 months then they're way ahead of schedule and ratchet the price up a bit. IF however they have only 35% sold at 12 months then they know they're way behind expected sales. So they should sort of drop the price a bit to encourage sales a bit. GUARANTEED catagory rates are one of the tools they use to offer a discount without compromising customers who might have paid more. This way they can entice sales without getting sucked into lower prices for assigned catagories and possible refund/adjustment requests - as I suspect Glindamood should do and get (transposed). AnD ... DCL and the airlines are hoping that most pre-paid folks NOT notice their price drops closer to travel - so they just do what they HAVE to do to ensure they don't sail or fly less then full.

A month or two ago I noticed a price reduction (well - actually two) on United Airlines... it was announced on the radio news.... and I saved / got refunded in travel credits for the drop in price. In fact the first airline rep I spoke to PRETENDED not to know what I was talking about. Imagine that.... And she made me wait a couple of minutes in case I hung up instead of waitied to collect my refuunds.... yeah ... like I wuz really gonna do THAT.

So - I noticed that right after I booked a few weeks ago the price immediately went up about 10%. And since then it has not dropped or increased again. Yeah - I casually monitor air and cruise rates for the things I have already booked. :surfweb:

HI All! I just got a phone call from my dear friend Linda who we met for dinner last night along with her husband Tom. They run the same load as us but they are home a couple of days a week in Chico, CA. They called to say they had just gotten home and Linda spotted something in the driveway beside their boat. She thought is was $$$ and asked Tom if he had dropped $$$ out of his pocket when he was cleaning out the boat the week before. He kind of shrugged it off and said that he guessed so. They forgot about it and got their things out of the truck to take inside and when Tom walked by the boat he froze: IT WAS A WAD OF CASH! $1400 bucks! They said they danced right there in the driveway :rotfl: He says his heart is still pounding! His MIL says she heard police sirens last night and thought that was strange since they live in a nice neighborhood. They assume that someone was running from the law and dumped the cash to maybe come pick it up later. Let's hope Johnny No Thumbs doesn't come knockin'!! I wish I would find $$$ before the cruise

Did they turn it in??

I'd rather we all line up to meet the Captain of the Wonder and do a nice tounge in cheek group shot with him and our Bubba Mugs. Imagine that!

Check your Fare . :bitelip:

Our flights Came down $160.00 in price, and I got the Credit Last Night !
At the same time I Adjusted the departure Flight to a more suitable time.

Had to pay the change fee ! :confused3 it is less if you do it on line but I was on the phone so just had her take care of it !
so we ended up saving about 100 bucks or so . :Pinkbounc

Checked our flights and the price is up about $275, there is one itinerary that is only a couple of dollars cheaper.

I can see the headlines on CNN and other news services. Disney Cruise Ship Overun with Bubba Mugs and Lanyard people :rotfl2: :lmao: Some natives in grass battlewear were holding the captain hostage screaming Where's the Rum!! :rotfl2:

Did they turn it in??
Oh, yea, they turned it in TO THEIR BANK! :lmao: They live on a pretty secluded street and asked their neighbors if any of them had lost a large sum of $$$ and all of them said no :confused3 Finders Keepers ya know! I'm sure if someone comes to them and identifies lost $$$ amount they will turn it over, I would, but for right now they are just gonna keep it! Tom said that the way the money was rolled up and the fact that it was $1400 in ratty 100 dollar bills tels him it was most likely drug $$$ or money from some other illegal act. He said if it had been in a bank envelope he would've gone to the bank but no bank envelope :confused3 Would you turn it in? :listen: :)

Just looked on DCL website and Cat 4-12 cabins are available for our cruise. Guess that it did not sell well. Mike

Thanks CC - and anyone else that has commented - TA is calling as I type and feels it should be dealt with the same as FL resident rates when they are released so we shall see.

Hope everyone had a good day! I need to think about dinner but had a really late lunch, DS is at soccer and DH is still working so can't be bothered right now so will spend a bit of time here.

SAY ....

Call DCL NOW.... and explain that todays' rate is LESS than what you booked loyaly a year ago - and you would like a COURTESY ADJUSTMENT. Do it now and be polite but slightly firm. SLIGHTLY FIRMas if PRESUMING it can and should be done. If no go - call again tomorrow and try again while NOT ADMITTING you called yesterday. My understanding is this should be routine as not everyone notices whether the rate has dropped yet - and I wonder if this is negated by the fact we're all fully paid for at this point and inside the cancelation penalty period.

GO call now. If you are shy about doing it - PM me and I'll do a conference call (3 way) with DCL on the line to request it for you. I have considerable background in telecom work as most of my communications in business are that way. In fact - I'm runnin' a telemarketing survey personally for my SIL who is trying to get her medical practice off in a different direction and her marketing is sort of lame and floundering badly... so just last nite I ran some calls for her and won some business (potentially) for her. I would say last nite I nabbed up to $5000 in revenue for her. Less expenses and overhead - it's a nice bit of change - and my effort was donated (as usual). ;)

So call in confidance! GO get your money back!

Just read about the swim over to the shipwreck and want DH to do this. Are there very many people planning on doing this?

I cannot wait for a conch kooler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2
I may have to drink DH's before he gets back!

A few years back Lynn and I found a wreck a little over .5 miles off the adult beach at CC. It is in shallow water and depending on the tide visable from shore, if ya know where to look. I marked it with my GPS so it is easy to find.

This is for strong swimmers only, who are cumfy being aways off shore in open water. Could be a very rough swim if conditions are not right. On our last cruise (DVC Member Cruise) we swam out in 3-6 ft seas, one of those easy swims out and the return was harder due to wind.

I know we will swim out for sure.
