Well, I just got caught up while the little one was down for a nap! Yes, I did say nap - that is amazing! But, now I must go for the afternoon! Have a great day everyone!

Hopefully it will be as easy to catch up when you get home :lmao: :rotfl2:

I see I'm not the only one with this problem. I'm trying to consolidate down. Meantime, I keep running into the 2 bags per person rule - where am I going to pack my clothes? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

HI All! I just got a phone call from my dear friend Linda who we met for dinner last night along with her husband Tom. They run the same load as us but they are home a couple of days a week in Chico, CA. They called to say they had just gotten home and Linda spotted something in the driveway beside their boat. She thought is was $$$ and asked Tom if he had dropped $$$ out of his pocket when he was cleaning out the boat the week before. He kind of shrugged it off and said that he guessed so. They forgot about it and got their things out of the truck to take inside and when Tom walked by the boat he froze: IT WAS A WAD OF CASH! $1400 bucks! They said they danced right there in the driveway :rotfl: He says his heart is still pounding! His MIL says she heard police sirens last night and thought that was strange since they live in a nice neighborhood. They assume that someone was running from the law and dumped the cash to maybe come pick it up later. Let's hope Johnny No Thumbs doesn't come knockin'!! I wish I would find $$$ before the cruise

We are coming to Orlando early and spending DDs birthday (the 14th) at AllStar. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: We'll be doing WDW for 2 days (all 4 parks in a 2-day marathon!!) then renting a car and driving to port. Somehow we are going to smash our family of 5 and all the luggage into a full-size car. DH says that it will work---- but he hasn't seen how much I am packing yet!!!!

Hey there - just wanted to share a small story - about 4 yrs ago we went on an extended vacation with our 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) we were gone a total of 3.2 weeks. 2 before the cruise and then the 7 day. We left 2 days after the cruise and when we arrived, the bag portors avoided us....see we had arrived with 15 bags! :faint: And I thought we had done good with 3 bags per person - unfortunately, they were the huge duffel bags :teeth: - and I maximized the packing so believe me they were HEAVY! Anyway, the portor made out like a bandit but my point to the whole story - DH made ALL the luggage fit but we had to upgrade to a minivan. With a little creativity, you can make things work - and no luggage went on the roof. Although - please don't forget the bungi cords just in case. In the end, there really wasn't much of price difference between the mid-size care and the mini van or minu suv. They worked a little better for a family of 5. Plus - there is less bickering from being cramped. You might want to consider that - check online for coupons or post online, I'm sure someone on this fine thread has some codes that might help. BTW - hope you have a grand time on your before portion of the cruise as I predict we'll have a grand old time on the sea part :p Have fun and feel free to ask any questions as I've been through the whole party of 5 bit before. :goodvibes

(Although I'm assuming your surgery was the lap method- 3 small stab wounds, so this wouldn't really happen, but you still can hurt yourself. So behave!)

Enjoy your painkillers and try to pass Scott & Tracy up on the posting counts!

Thanks Celeste - your right - the stab wounds got me :faint: believe it or not I am actually trying very hard to follow all rules as I want nothing to stop me from going on this cruise. Thanks for the well wishes - and hope to see all within the next few weeks - working on DH to leave as early as the 11th or 12th. I need a few days away from the 'child' (13 yo girl) the other 2 - 19 & 20 can fend for themselves.......hee hee hee :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: - did that sound awful? Don't worry - the oldest girl 19 yo will probably go over to grandma's as that used to be her 2nd home. Unfortunately, I let my 20 yo believe that this was HIS cruise and so he's tagging along although that's fine with me as he says the ghost of Andrew will be joining us for dinner. In other words - I probably won't be seeing him after embarkation day until disembarkation day. Works for me ! :cheer2:  :teeth:

First, I'm sorry to hear about your pain after the operation. We'll send good wishes your way so that you'll be able to enjoy the cruise afteryour release from purgatory. pixiedust:

In the past when Vicki and I have cruised, we did the pin cruise in November ... 3 times! We'll be collecting on this cruise, but we won't be bringing many traders with us. But we're always willing to just sit around and talk! :hyper2:

Thanks for the well wishes! Its nice to get them from my dis family! Makes me feel like a princess: Anyway, just found out about those pin cruises  no w DD-13 is begging to go - but alas (thank God) its during school time, use that as an excuse. We will probably catch up with you on the cruise as I like to talk to other fanatics on this little hobby - we buy buy buy and now my library is filled up - now if I can only get organized around here :rolleyes1 I'm sure I can find some more room to stash them little things - after all - most of them are pretty small in size aren't they? OK no jokes on that one - this is a Dis board. !Argh pirate:

LOL, we have never been on a pin cruise, but have attended many many pin events at WDW. We collected pins with the kids long before it was the thing to do..lol. We don't bring any with us on the ship, fun to buy them while we are there though.

So, Laura, what type of pins do you and your hubby collect???

DD14 would love to go too. She can't miss school though. She had a rough time catching up after our 7 night in January. I will be glad to have a break from her hormones :rotfl: I will miss her though.

Well, I guess with so much hurricane practice last year, everyone seems to be taking Ernesto seriously and is getting ready in advance this time around.

Thought I would sneak out to the grocery store early this morning..every lane open and a long line at each..ugh. Same with the gas stations..lines all the way around the block at almost all of them.

Good thing we stay ready, just had to grab a few things and head back home.

Sorry...

Not everyone enjoies Jazz or the Sound of Music - which comprised our concert selections for this past season. Wednesday we've got George Benson and Al Jarreau at the Hollywood Bowl! And I was shocked at how many were NOT familiar with them! Now, don't tell me... (unless you wanna surprise me again) but are U familiar with either or both of these "Jazz Legends"?

I am shocked but not for the reason you think - I'm :scared1: to finally meet someone who knows much less admits they like George Benson and Al Jarreau. DH would have no clue - sometimes I feel like a pig stuck in muck ( :rolleyes1 where that came from I have no clue- but I am talking to CC after all) but I like them. Don't have much of an opportunity to watch them. Almost went to one of Al's concerts but the lady taking me turned out to be drinking too much and since I'm not really a drinker - decided to forgo the experience until she was sober. Hence - I haven't had the 'opp' to go yet. Oh well - if you can hear - let me know how it goes - the beat just gets my toes a tapping! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Laura, eeyorelvr10, get better do as the docs say.

Emily, yep prices on the bath and kitchen fixtures are nuts.

Ivan, KEWL Map thanks.

Technically I just settled on a theme - before I was "helping" my DD-13 who collects all the typical princess things (I'm very lucky in that she still likes princesses - I just hope she continue on princesses and doesn't move onto princes. :rotfl2: ) Anyway, as I am an avid lover of photography and cameras I recently saw a bunch of pins with cameras on them. I am in a quest to locate one that I saw online of Stitch with a camera - saw it once out here (DL) but as I wasn't an avid Stitch lover at the time, I didn't get it. Yeah - I'm kicking myself for that one - :faint: I also like Dumbo and the female villians - that came about when I realized I had an affinity for Ursula and the Wicked Queen from Snow White - somehow or other I seem to identify with them (OK - realize I'm setting myself up for that one - but heck - I should fit in with this crowd - my DH doesn't understand my dry/sarcastic sense of humor MOST of the time) but really I'm not all that bad! pirate:

DH recently announced that he will start collecting pirates and he helps out with lanyards and princesses. He's really a sweetheart - either that or he realized that he was outnumbered in the male division and so just does what he has too to get along. I think he thinks its easier that way! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: And that only took me 20 years to get into his head.

I actually got started on pin trading back in 2000 when it was only supposed to go on for 18 months but my DH at the time STRONGLY encouraged me (he took my credit cards away! ) not to collect. Then last year on the Eastbound repo, we got paired up with a pin traders as our dinnermates and she got DH and DD hardcore into it. In fact, we still get together out here about once every 6 weeks for dinner . She was a blast to have as a tablemate and really encouraged me to open up. Took her suggestion and I'm off and running. :dance3: and going a little crazy at that - anyway, sorry for the long story - I tend to be long winded - errrrr- long typing! :lmao: Later - remember - I'm housebound and can't lift so no housework for me - although I'm still trying to figure out if I can wash the dishes in the sink - they're driving me crazy - I would have done it earlier but my stomach was preventing me from standing up straight. Now, I'm weighing in on sitting here typing or attempting to wash -Let you know who wins later! ;)

this coming from me of all people, funny huh Celeste? :goodvibes

If your Dr said rest, THEN REST.

Do you really want to jeapordize your recovery and potentially not be able to do things on the cruise all for a few dishes???? :confused3

doesn;t sound like the cost/benefit is there on this one...

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: We can officially do the document dance :dance3: :dance3:

Many thanks go out to Sandym for allowing usage of her quote (sorry - had to write that :teeth: )

WE GOT OURS DOCS!!!!!!! DH played USPS guy. Best of all - WE GOT AN UPGRADE!!!!!!

Now who do I notify on our newest room? I know I know - check p1 post 5 - will go there directly to check it out. I was hoping in the back of my mind but didn't hold out hope because we were already on deck 7 with a verandah. Now we have deck 8 aft with a verandah (8576) anyone travel in that part before? We usually travel on inside down low as DH gets sea:sick: AND plane  AND train  AND car  - see the theme here? That's why I get my jollies just about any clean way that I can (trying not to leave myself open to anything there ;) )

Anyway, we have found success in DARK rooms for sleeping and not windoows or verandahs - and down low seems to calm the movement of the ship for DH's seasickness. However, this will be our 1st time with a verandah/balcony (is there a difference?) on DCL and I can give thanks to my son for that one. He insisted on traveling with one this time and as he thinks that this was his gift for graduation/nomination at school - I had to comply with his wishes. I did a 3-day to Mexico once on Carnival and we were on deck 8 - I remember I got a little queasy too but once I fell asleep - I was fine. Yippeeee! I can  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :dance3: :bounce:  now!
