:welcome: Cathy and Family :welcome:

Be prepared to party: :jumping1: :dance3: This group is in to having a good time.
I haven't looked for military airfare for awhile but the last time I did there weren't any airlines offering it. :sad2: The greatest advantage to letting Disney do your air is there is less stress. They keep track of your flight and if something happens to it they will hold the ship for you. Having had this happen to me I now always book through the cruise line if I fly the day of. It is still a good idea to go down the night before. If you book with Disney air they do a night before package where you stay at the MCO Hyatt and they bus you to the port. Again pricey but no stress. If you book your own air you can still book transfers with Disney. I would check into the difference in cost of renting a car or doing their transfers. The magic starts when you board their bus. :cool1:

Disgal1, you have to take chances. What would be the worst that could happen? You get a couple more days on that lovely Disney ship. :cheer2: :cheer2:   You know that the captain isn't going to take you anywhere near the hurricane. If you miss a port you catch it the next time. :lmao:

Hey Bob, have you heard? They are having Captain Jack on Castaway Cay. pirate: He will be telling stories and doing pictures and autographs. :artist: Also, if you rent a boat you can get a close up look at the ship. :cheer2:

Jenn is so nice !

What a great Aunt and Uncle to do this, extended families are an important part of kids lives.

First question (for today) Should we get the early or late seating? My kids are used to go, go, go and not eating until 7-7:30 here. And I have read the ppl always have to rush to the early sitting. My question is, when are the shows? Are there more than one showing? I just don't want to miss the shows. I am set up for 6:30, but am thinking of changing to 7:70-8. What do you all think?

Cathy

PS-Thanks again for all the welcomes!! I feel part of the "club" already :)

We've already booked air but this is a great offer. Does Disney do air deviation? What is the cost? We're planning to fly to Florida the day prior and we're not flying home till two days after the cruise.

There are two shows - one for early seating, one for late seating. Go with the time that fits your family. Alex

Hello everyone, and welcome to all of the new people.
I haven't posted much lately, been a little under the weather, and busy with work. I have managed to keep up with reading most of the posts, but that is about it. Hope everyone is doing well.

I do have a question for those of you that are staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise...if you don't mind disclosing..what kind of rates did you get for the one night?? I am looking at their website, and it looks like they are $118.00 for one night. :sad2: I know that we have stayed there before our other cruises, and seems to me that we paid between $79-$89 for a room ??

Also, we will be going to WDW for four days after the cruise and Dan is thinking about renting a car for those days. Anyone know if there is a place that we can rent a car from the airport, drop it off close to the Radisson, and then rent one for the stay at WDW and either drop it off at WDW and take the Magical express back to the airport or dirve ourselves to the airport and drop it off there??
Have a great weekend everyone, and thanks for any advice you can give me on these two questions.

Car rentals

After cruise take the shuttle back to there rental location pick up car go to WDW drop off at airport.
There is an Avis location just outside of Downtown Disney, if you did want to drop off the car and use ME :moped:
you can walk back over to DTD and take bus back t resort..

Also Celeste posted this, about sharing a van I do not know if there is space left or not :confused3 IMO this would be the way to go ! see this post

Then you could use ME to get back to airport ! :teeth:

Thank you, Tony, for adding us to the Roster! You live in another of my favorite places in the world!!

Hey, I just saw on the main cruise board that the new CC gift is a lanyard and 2 pins, no cruise bag. Anyone else hear of this?

I hope not! I was hoping for a bag on the Western cruise. Our cruise likely will have something different because it's a special cruise.

For Cruisetoberfest we got a blanket with a map of where we were going. For the PC cruise we got a blanket with the ports listed

I hope we get something other than a lanyard and pins. I know a gift is just that a gift. But, lanyards and pins?

I tend to agree.

Dogs walked , lawn trimmed up, dog brushed, also got a little surprise for the future members of the Grass Skirt Frat.

We also got a blanket when we did the special Eastern back in 2004. I will be sure to have extra room with that in mind - or just bring another suitcase! :rotfl: It is a nice fleece but they do take up room in your luggage.

Our Radisson room usually costs us in the $119 range, and we use budget rental car when we need one to the port. Budget, about a block away from the Radisson, near the port. There are plenty of us staying at the Radissson this time around.

Airforcemomof2, about dinner seatings, we originally did early seating, and felt like we really had to rush, both to dinner, then from dinner to the show. We switched to late seating, it is much more relaxing to have time to get ready for dinner before the show, or if you are running late, go to the show, then you still have plenty of time to dress for dinner after the show. The down side of the late seating is that you get out of dinner around 10:30, and for us, that means we are eating, then going straight to bed, we are not night owls. There are usually not as many kids at the late seating, it is late for most kids. Hope this imput helps you make a more informed decision on which would be best for you and your family.

Lanyards for gifts - do you think that got that idea from us also, seeing how popular they were in our group?

Lynn
