My family is suppose to leave on September 12th on the Wonder. Of course, we were suppose to go to Nassau, but I know that is out of the question. Does anyone have any opinions on what you think Disney might do in a case like this? Cozumel? Key West? 4 days at sea? This seems pretty unprecedented and with Ivan out there, we just don't know what to think. Just wanted some thoughts.

KCLA-
We'll be on that cruise with you - me, DH, DD2 and 9 other family/friends. I think at this point we're gonna just have to wait and see.
GO AWAY, IVAN!

I think they need to take it one storm at a time, one day at a time. A lot of last minute decisions are made and no one will know the damage to the islands until the storm passes. It is currently over Freeport right now and has been for about six hours. It is a slow mover. After the storm passes it will be about 1-2 more days for damage assessments to be made, so my guess is that we will not know itineraries and about Castaway Cay until mid next week.

We will be on the Sept. 12 cruise too! We had to change our reservations yesterday as we were booked for Sept. 5! I have to pay $406 to rebook the same room one week later. They did not charge the $85pp. I think that we have a better chance getting on this cruise. I just don'e think we would have made it to the Monday sailing. At this point I really don't care where we sail. I just want to get on the boat.

The person who just rebooked for Sept. 12th from Sept. 5th, did Disney give you any ideas as to what might happen to the the Sept. 12th cruise when you spoke to them yesterday? I'm a little surprised that they charged you that much, when they are giving the people that are out now on both the Magic and Wonder so much...40% off, $200 on board credit, etc...

Hello Wisconsindisneygirl and KCLA We are going on the 12th cruise too. Come say hello at our thread in the cruise meets... see ya onboard I hope.... :wave2:

We are on the Wonder for Sept 12 also. And we are supposed to fly out Wed. Sept 8 and go to the parks. The land/sea pkg. But, we are worried about power outages and if we will be able to even fly Wed. And then where will we be able to go on the cruise and also Ivan. So its really up in the air. Not to anxious to pack just yet. We booked this trip 1 1/2 ago, beleive it or not....... We are praying....... I guess we will wait and see. What would you guys think???????????????????????????????????

We are on Sept 12th as well. We are just hoping, praying and sprinkling alot of pixie dust. Our DD age 4 is looking forward to this cruise and so is mommy and daddy! The plan was to pack over the weekend but I have held off on that just yet. We are praying for those in Frances path and praying for those who have upcoming vacations to WDW and DCL. Hope to see you all on board! If anyone hears any news about our upcoming cruise let us know!

KCLA-

DCL gave us three options for the Sept. 5 cruise:

1. Cruise on Moday- get 30% back, $100 onboard credit and 25% off next booking.

2. Get all of your money back.

3. Rebook for another date without paying the $85 pp rebooking fee. But- you had to pay for price changes for other sailings.

We took option 3. I think option 1 would not work. And not that it is Sunday am and they way things look, there is no way they will be comming in Monday. AND- the airport is closed until at least Monday noon. We were able to rebook for the following weekend. But now I am worried about Ivan. Just my luck!!! We are flying out Wed. am to do WDW. Hope all works out. Hope to see all of you on the 12th.

I too am suprised you were charged so much? Did you change room category? You would think that a Labor Day weekend cruise would cost MORE than the Sept. 12th sailing?

Unless you moved up a couple of categories, I would really think about calling DCL back and questioning that $400.00+ charge.

I think you are right about Monday, I feel badly for all those folks struggling in vain to get to Florida for Monday Sailing (my boss is one of them) I think DCL will have a lot more on it's plate and will have to adjust again.

2 million without power.... and Frances isn't done. I pray Ivan just leaves them alone!

As for our Sept.12th sailing... I believe we'll be getting calls this week. They have to be so overwhelmed @ DCL.

Much luck to all.

:wave2: I am curious about the rebooking. If you booked your flight through DCL do they take care of rebooking that also and do you pay an extra fee to the airline?
