Congrats on the new grandbaby! That is the best Christmas gift you could receive. I couldn't stand it though if my granddaughters lived more than five minutes from me.

Have a great time and drive safely!

Donna

I would love to be closer, but we all figure we are where God wants us to be, so this is how it is.

Thanks for the good wishes for travel. We are a bit concerned about finding any fast food places open on Christmas day. We do not want to waste time sitting down to eat in a truck stop--they are so SLOW!

Have a safe journey and lots of fun with baby!!:cutie: :cutie: :cutie:

She is indeed the best Christmas present. :cutie:
We had clear dry roads and good travels. No McDonalds were open so we did eat at a truck stop once and snacked in the van other times. We got here in time for dinner with Tom, Sarah, her folks and our other son, Ted. We held Sophie but she is only 9 days old and was early, she is busy sleeping and eating so we saw eyes briefly. This is what we expected, so that is fine.

We will visit them daily, help build a closet and do whatever else we can.

Grandma Jan

WDW Update:

It's official. ADR's can now only be made 90 Days in advance (the 90 +10 for on property guests still applies).

.....let's see...that June 6 for my next visit......

Thought any of you planning a pre-cruise visit might like to know this.

Happy, happy memories...

Anyway, since the big day I've been busy re-scheduling our September '09 trip! :thumbsup2 Originally DH and I were flying out for ten days - 3 days in WDW followed by this cruise. Then a few days ago, my DD requested a 2009 Girls Only trip with her Mama and, with my Uni commitments, a week following the Tortola cruise was the best fit. SO yesterday I cancelled our existing Fly-Drive and re-booked flights only (saving around $1500!!!) - DH is still doing the original 10 days, Sophie is joining me from September 19th to 26th and I'm now spending an amazing seventeen (that's 17 folks!!!) Disney-immersed days!!! I have never spent so long with the Mouse!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I emailed a request to DVC for a 1 bedroomed unit at VWL and within 2 hours I received a reply confirming the booking - how's that for service and so much easier than hanging on the telephone!!!??!! :goodvibes

Kaz, love your Christmas decorations, and the table is beautiful!

Congrats on booking the back-to-back. Kathe (Katypop) will be having her daughter join her for the second week too and several of our cruise-mates are doing the back to back. Fairly recently there was a group of about 30 people doing a back to back....wonder if this crowd will beat that number.

Looks like I'll be doing a WHOLE WEEK at WDW pre-cruise and I'm very excited about that! :dance3: Don't know where we will be staying...as I'm just a tag-along and the DVC resort won't be booked till the first week of Feb. Wonder when my fellow travelers ARE GOING TO START POSTING ON THIS THREAD some more. (Did you hear me, kids?) I think I'd better start rounding them up! :lmao:

I quite fancy that as an anniversary treat for DH and myself - I'll try to find out the cost and let you know... :thumbsup2

DH and I are doing 3 nights in WDW pre-cruise. At the moment we have SSR and VWL booked but I'm currently in lurve with the EPCOT resorts so may try and change to BWV...

oops, sorry, misunderstood...

I've put in my 'request' for resort location and agree that the EPCOT resorts are the top of my list. (Maybe BCV slightly over BWV as it's a few steps closer to EPCOT) :lmao: However both VWL and VAK would delight me. And OKW is so 'roomy'. But I'll be happy with whatever location my DVC owning pal chooses. (we both have SSR at the bottom of the list...me because it's the one place I've already stayed). Hmmmmm.......wonder when the Treehouses and Bay Lake Tower will be ready for occupancy?

Hey...does anyone know...if (when) they announce free dining for September, will that suddenly mean we CAN'T do the dining plan if we are DVC, or will we still be allowed to PURCHASE it?

Well, I sent in an inquiry and got an answer emailed today and all I can say is... Ouch!!! The Yacht will accommodate up to 10 guests and is $3900.00. Wayyyyyyyyyyy to pricey for our budget, even with 10 people to fill the boat.. We were expected it to be in the $1,000 - $1,500 range

Oh well... On to "other" excursions we go..

:sad2:

Wasn't there also one for a villa somewhere? I was flipping through the travel channel and saw a villa at Virgin Gorda that was available 'for rent'. The place was HUGH and probably very, very pricey!

Yes, there is a Villa one as well.. We weren't interested in the Villa though.. We thought the private boat would of been really awesome for our group.. Although a private Villa would of been pretty cool if it were just myself & DH

Yeah, I got that email too! Wow, $3900!!! Not even when we were getting $2 to the £ would that have been feasible... Shame as I would've loved that for DH and myself but I'm still reeling from the cost... :faint:
