September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

We are Not wine drinkers at all so we had no idea what to pick. We told him we wanted something sweet so he brought out a bottle.. We tasted it and decided Yes, it was good.. So we were told that in order to buy it in the USA you have to ASK the owner for it and beg to get some. Maybe even bargain a trade for it..

Moscato Giallo Trentino

Guess we did fall Hook Line and Sinker.. who knew.. on a Disney Ship..

I wonder if that's what I had at Palo. I had a couple of glasses of a Moscato wine that was excellent. I don't know how much it was per glass since I never saw the bill though.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my son got croup while on the cruise last year. Not a bad cold or cough but honest to goodness croup. He was having trouble breathing/ stridor and they just about admitted him but decided since I'm a PA that I could keep a good eye on him. Not sure who he got it from but I know it was last week because of the incubation period and no one in our area has had it. Thought you guys might want to know. He is 4and was around the 3-4 and 5-7 age kids.

Sorry to hear about that.

DD came home with the sniffles & a cough (we believe it to be a cold) - she was in the 5-7yo group and DS has aquired a cough that is persistent (he is in the 8-10 yo group). I will keep an eye on both of them in case they develop something worse.

Thanks for letting us know, and hope your DS feels better soon.

GOOD MORNIN ALL
just wanted to make sure I said it was great sailing with everyone!!!!!!!!!
I know there was lots of cruisers I did not meet but thats what the next cruise is for.
In reading about alot of illness before the cruise I hope those are all improving???
I also have an illness whick I got from not having an air pack on at a fire. there was something in the smoke, 2 of us have the same thing and we both are with the same tranplant team at U of M. our liver is failing. SO if I looked YELLOW then YEAP I was. This is why I have not cruised in a while. I think its time to start getting back out there and enjoying life more CRUISEING , TRAVELING and just watching the sun rise and set. Maybee even going to phenix again.

I'm on the blabbermouth thread alot and I will stop by here if it keeps on to say hi and see whom I might be cruising with in the future.?????

THANK YOU all again for a MAGICAL CRUISE

2 of my 3 came down with that crazy cough and cold the last night of our cruise. I had them tested for the flu when we returned on Saturday and it was negative. They are getting better but it definitely had my youngest down. They are 4 and 7. Ali

Edited to add: On a side note, they both got sick Friday night, the night that my husband and I had reservations at Palo. I was so disappointed and called to tell them we wouldn't be able to come.....they told me to come to the restraunt and order and they would bring it to our room!! Oh my goodness, it was the best. I know they don't usually do that but I he could sense the disappointment in my voice!! Such service!!!!

we had to cancel our palo ressies b/c our son was sick the night we were supposed to go. :headache:
something to look foward to next time...

Several of us got Colds and Flus too

I'm on a 5 day antibiotic, DH refuses to go to the DR so he's only on aspirin :sad2:

2 of the children in our group, 12 and 13 were both coughing towards the end of the cruise and the 6 year old was just starting to have a stuffy nose

Hi - I am Lindsay and Nick's Mom. We were hangin' with you at Magen's Bay, I think. Lindsay also started coughing as soon as we were home. She is okay, no fever, just has the lingering cough. Hope the kids feel better soon.

We're finallyback home after a wonderful cruise and 3 days at WDW. It was wonderful meeting you all. Wish we could have spent more time visiting with you. The green lanyards were a wonderful icebreaker and great conversation starter. Kept running into them all over the ship. DH and I are in "discussions" on whether to take another cruise (me) or buy more DVC points (him). I know we should have done it on ship for either of these but neither of us would give way. Oh well. I hope to see some of you on any future cruises we may take. My kids absolutely adored the kids clubs. My DD even made a friend (kimlovesdisney's DD) that she wants to keep in contact with.

On the next cruise I want to hang out with you guys in whatever lounge you guys were in. Sounds like you guys had fun, oh and I would do late seating for dinner too, it seemed like we missed out on some inboard activities because of our early sitting.

Hopefully we'll be seeing some of you on a future cruise:love:

Linda,... we had fun running into y'all everywhere on the ship. wish we had had more time to yap together though. Lindsay has been bugging me for days wondering if Hanna is home. I will tell her so she can email her. Nick has his first football game tonight, so it may be tomorrow before she can email her. My kids loved the kids clubs too and Lindsay felt extra special already having a friend onboard before we even got there. Let us know if you win the battle for another cruise... we probably will go cheap with RC next time...in a couple years. We will be back at WDW next September - so let us know when you will be there.

Thanks, to everyone for the FE's. We loved having surprises to go through each time we went to the room. We are still sorting through the gifts! Loved the CD, champagne bubbles, cooler, pirate stuff and everything else! I ate most of the candy in the movie bag- delicious. I tried to leave the most of the other candy for the kids! ha.

it may be the itialian champagne - banfi. it was about $46 on the cruise and i found it here for $20. it is a rose champagne...sweet, not dry. loved it.

The Banfi Rosa Regale usually sells in the $20 price range (and $40+ on the ship), but it certainly isn't hard to come by. I picked up three bottles for $16.95 right before the cruise! SCORE!

I'm still unpacking and sorting through my FE stuff too. As I'm housesitting for Peg this week, everything is still scattered around my house. Hope to get all unpacked and organized on Saturday....but I may blow that off and go to a movie! :lmao: I didn't see ANY movies on the ship, and I sure had planned to.

Did you guys hear Cheri (NotSoLittleMermaid) slipped and fell on the ship this week (she did a B2B) and is walking around with her arm in a sling right now? :sad2: I think one of her very first cruises she had broken her foot and did that cruise in a wheel chair. BUT MOST IMPORTANT....she didn't drop her camera! :thumbsup2

Got about 15 minutes before I head to the airport to pick up Peg & Jose. Just enough time to check out one more thread on the DIS!

.

I hope Cheri recovers quickly. I'd rather be in the ship with a duff arm, than here at home :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm sorry to hear about Cheri.

As I write this, she's spending her 14th night aboard the Magic.
Good vibes to Cheri for a quick recovery.

Kim, Hanna will LOVE hearing from Lindsey. She printed out pics of our trip to take to school and she took one of them from Pirate night. She's been talking about her to her friends. I'll be PMing you shortly so look for it.

Curious to know if anyone saw this and knows what it is...

::yes::DH spotted this on the stairs by the pool going from deck 9 to 10. Probably should have finished reading everything before I sent this. We got home late yesterday and I've just now had a moment to try to catch up.
