September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Thanks GG! I will give Harry the message. Would you like us to return the hat when we get back? Harry's hair is beginning to fall out. DD Shannon the dog groomer is going to bring her dog clippers home this weekend to shave his head. She is really anxious to do this.:confused3 It would freak me out.:scared1:

Donna

:confused3 Rags,
Harry can keep the hat as long as he needs it, like I said I have two more. A WDW one and my best the " Margaritaville" one..

As long as he is going to use it he can keep it as long as he wants, and if it gets blown away, stepped on :scared1: or worse, don't worry about it. Hopefully it will bring him some luck. Like it say's under my name up there, EXTRA STOUT, always bitter Butttt never boring.
good night,
gg
PS Don't forget the Tootsie Roll Pops for Harry after ge gets clipped..

In case it helps anyone over here. You can put a hold on your mail online at https://holdmail.usps.com/duns/HoldMail.jsp (or if you want you can go into the post office, fill in a form there and hand it in).

I chose the lazy, but more efficient "Do it online" method!

Count down is coming soon!

Thanks - I was going to check on Monday to see if the dates went out far enough and just did it and it's all taken care of. ANOTHER item checked off the list of things to do!

At first when I came on here - it felt like I was on the wrong thread - not sure why - welcome to all the newbies I might have missed in the last couple of day - don't forget

DIS MEET 3PM SATURDAY 9/12 PROMENADE LOUNGE - be there or be square...

I just ordered my packing cubes and a folder. The cubes won't be in until Sept. 8th and the folder on the 9th. I'm leaving the 11th, so there will be time to pack. Actually that works perfectly for me as I'm a procrastinator and I wouldn't start packing until then anyway. I haven't even started pulling clothes out of the closet yet. Just pulled out 1 suitcase and 1 carryon so that I could order the right size packing cubes.

Have fun all of you who are going to WDW pre-cruise! princess:pirate:

:welcome: to the even newer newbies! :dance3:

I've been reading about mickey bars on the cruise boards and I was wondering where you get them while on the ship and are they free?

Room service. Mickey bars are free, but it's customary to tip.

So........I was trying on clothes tonight for WDW and the B2B cruises. :scared1::scared1::scared1::eek::eek: You would think since I have known about this cruise since May/June 2008 that I would have lost lots of weight so that my clothes would fit well. :sad2::sad2: Unfortunately, this is the "norm" for me. :sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1: Maybe one day :wizard:

Me too!!:sad2:

I am definitely doing some packing as this is my last weekend at home prior to the trip... I'm trying not to bring tons of clothes (famous last words) but what to wear on formal night is giving me a slight :headache: ... I think I'm just going to opt for a short cocktail dress, heels, a pretty cardi/wrap and plenty of bling as it's easier to pack... :goodvibes Off to check on the rest of my vacation wardrobe now... :thumbsup2

Going to pack the garment bag tomorrow, and a bag full of cruise things that I shouldn't need whilst in WDW in the few days before the cruise!!

You can get them in the dining rooms by special request, but they are not available at any of the snack places.

Just ask your server for a Mickey bar.

The only ice cream otherwise available is soft-serve self-serve that's next to Goofy's Galley.

Today is packing day at Eastwood Manor.

We leave for WDW in 6 days, so we'd better pack today!

Not so sure I'm looking forward to it. I spent yesterday evening getting caught up with laundry.

The real question is how much procrastinating I can do today?

However, rather uncharacteristically, Sukie seems to be rather chipper about packing. I suspect he's a bit more positive because he's written his weekly columns that are to be published while we're away, and so there isn't a panic going on to turn out this week's column plus and additional three for while we're gone.

Later today, my friend who is going to be dog-sitting is coming over for a run through of Truman and Tallulah's routine. Which reminds me that I also have to walk over to the vet and tell them we're going to be away and give them a credit card to cover any doggie emergencies while we're gone.

I also have to sit down and write instructions on how to use the electronics in the house. When Cheri sat for us in May, she had the benefit of 3-days worth of training.

Rich moves in on Wednesday night, so he can go through the T&T routine on Thursday morning.

I have a shuttle booked to pick us up at 5:00 a.m. on Friday morning for an 8:00 a.m. flight out of Midway.

Going to pack the garment bag tomorrow, and a bag full of cruise things that I shouldn't need whilst in WDW in the few days before the cruise!!

The question in the minds of the masses is, whether you will unpack the garment back whilst you are in Disney World. Or hang it up with the clothes still in it?

I'm tormented by this burning question myself.

I am sure that both of you will be über-lovely regardless of what you may say.

Joanie, usually somewhere around ten o'clock there will be an adult show with a comedian, magician or whatever type of performer they have on board for the Welcome Aboard dinner show. After that there will be music and dancing. The clubs usually seem to clear out pretty early as so many families with little ones are on board. DCL has had some lousy bands. I am hoping for some good music this time. The band on the WBPC repo was very good.

AND

This is in ADDITION to some top rate Theater Entertainment. I have discovered some people who never went to the Theater because they thought it would be a song and dance review or a movie.
.

FE People....

I noticed on the List of FE participants some of the children are not marked as boys or girls.. Some of us have gifts specific for gender..

Sooooo if you can please look at your list and tell us boys or girls or both.. It would be GREATLY appreciated..

I wouldnt want a boy getting a Purple Hanna Montana item.. Well.. unless they like Purple and H M :confused3

Check page 1 post 2. Some of the families might be more specifically listed there. If not, you might PM the others and ask them to post.

EDITED TO SAY: I see some of you thought of this a while ago. I should have read further......

Emails Coming Today
Walking on Water - Keeping Healthy at Sea

I will be sending out emails today with the walking teams, so if you had signed up, please look to your email boxes later (or your spam folders as the case may be).

I want to stress that this is all very informal, and only meant to provide inspiration, encouragement and support. So, I use the word "walking teams" very loosely.

Today, I walk a bit over 16,000 steps, or about 6 to 7 miles a day (that is cumulative over the course of my waking hours), and set this up so I might fool myself into maintaining my habits.

As I have said before, it is one of the ways, along with smart eating, that I have kept off about 90 pounds.

I had also hoped to minimize some of the damage I had inflicted on myself on past cruises, which is why I organized this, in the hopes of having a reason to get out of bed and get some steps in.

Though, I wonder if I'll hang tough on this cruise, or, whether I should be contemplating letting out my shower curtains now, or when I get back from the cruise.
