So went looking for hotels for the night before cruise and the cheapest I was able to find was $107 for the Radisson. Does anybody know of a good hotel for cheaper that has a free shuttle to the port? Just wondering if I should just book the Radisson. We're taking Southern Elegance (thanks for the tip Jackie, it was the cheapest we found) from MCO to Cocoa Beach, does anyone know if the Radisson is close to a grocery/liquor store? We would like to bring on a few beverages. Thanks for the info.

CASH FOR THE CRUISE, of course!

I already put my cat sitting money in the cruise envelope. :thumbsup2

HAVE A GREAT TRIP SISTER!
Sister - I'll get you money this week. I didn't have any cash this entire trip and didn't need any - how COOL is that?
So, Peg, you want this in post 2 or do you want to wait till you get a more recent photo or both?

Also, how about being part of the Fish Extender crew? You asked me to take that off your listing and I did but now Michelle wants you to have a FE by your door so she can play Santa Mickey and bring you presents each day. :rotfl:

Jan :confused3
Jan you may post this on page one and I'll have a current photo by MONTH end when I get back from North Carolina! NO FE for me...sorry. OH that Michelle - what am I to do with her???

Peg's away right now, but no...don't post that picture on page one. She'll get a photo of them later this month then ask them if they want it posted.

Yes, remove FE for her (but not me...I'm still playing)!

I'm staying with my four legged nieces right now. Just had a swim and dinner and am hoping I remember how to set the alarm!

.
DO not listen to my sister - yes post that photo (I like it) and I'll have a new one soon - but I happen to enjoy that one!

You did a great job with the girls, they are happy and seem to have enjoyed themselves...:cloud9::love: I did think about them when I was gone - but didn't FRET like I usually do, because I knew you'd be here - I'm not feeling that confident for THIS cruise trip - I'm going to have to work on a couple of options!

Here's the link to Shirley's helpful thread that has lots of info about Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach hotels. There will also be info about grocery and liquor stores. I know Deb (EllaEnchanted) and Cheri (NotSoLittleMermaid) have stayed in that area pre-cruise, so they may be able to chime in with some helpful hints.

Sister Peg (HI PEG) and brother Paul are staying on the beach and paying a modest shuttle charge to get to the port.

DUH....would help if I put in the link, eh?

Well, remember I'll get home about five days before you and can 'take over' from whomever you get to cover the first part of the trip.....if necessary. (I could just spy on them if you like.....I am a Scorpio after all.)

No (thank you). I have about as much interest in water skiing as I do in reading a technical manual for a sewage plant.
Oh, Ian you really do keep me smiling!:lmao:
But it makes such interesting summer reading... :surfweb:
Now that was good!:thumbsup2
Well, it's about 445am here and the dogs want to know why we've moved from the comfy bed into the office and when am I going to fix their breakfast! :lmao:Won't they get a surprise when I shut off the computer and go back to bed!

.
Actually, they are pretty used to me being up in the middle of the night sometimes, and DO wonder however, WHY they can't just get their breakfast THEN!
We arrived home safely, and are (almost) unpacked. It was an incredible journey.

I'll try to catch up with this thread to see what I missed. Looking forward to the Tortola cruise.

Woody
Welcome home fella! I too, think we should have a slide presentation, maybe powerpoint with music and poetry or quotes to go along...
Peg...

Believe me...

There are people on this thread who could give you lots of ideas... :rotfl:
Well I do KNOW some of these crazy characters and you are 100% correct!:scared1:

Thought I'd share.... this is BEFORE i rode her.... my friends horse Ree - I knew Ree's MOTHER "FLASH" and Flashe's sister "SISTER". So we go way back...

Look at her muzzle, she's enjoying the scratch I'm giving her!

And this is fine example of why you lunge a horse before riding! :lmao:

.

That is TOTALLY correct sister! Why have to "fight" the "Frisk"?

Here is an example of Ree going over a log in her "play pen"... my friend and I are Natural Horsewomen... we don't believe in hitting, or forcing an animal to do anything - we believe "relationship first"...

Isn't she beautiful?

One more and I'm done... this is Bouquet - (her real name is bucket because she was bucket rasied - her mother died after giving birth - but because Barb is a fan of BBC - she calls her BOUQUET. LOL

And with that I will sign off with a Good night all and a photo that I thought would be appropriate...

We are going to WDW post cruise and wanted to know if we'd be better off carting our luggage off ourselves (should only have 2 large and 2 small bags for the 4 of us, totally handleable) or if we have to have our bags go thru customs before we disembark. Not sure of how this all works as we have never cruised before. Thanks for the info, I'll await your wisdom. :surfweb:

Well, your bags (and you) go through customes no matter who takes them from your room. You CAN take your bags with you from your room the morning we disembark, but you'll have to schlep them with you to breakfast and find a place for them in the restaurant out of the way.

DCL will pick them up from your room the night before (you have to have them outside your door by 11PM) and you can collect them at the terminal, before going through customs. You will find tags in your stateroom the night before that will go on your luggage and let you know which section (Donald, Mickey) you stuff will be in when you get down to the terminal. It's very organized. Folks say disembarking on DCL is the most organized of any of the cruise lines.

It's pretty painless to do it that way, though that Friday at Castaway Cay and final dinner and show, it gets pretty hectic to get your luggage packed and out (especially if you want to hit Pub Night in the adult club that night :thumbsup2). So take some time on Thursday (sea day) to get some of your stuff packed up or at least organized. DON'T FORGET to leave out your clothes for the next morning! You will have access to your luggage to rearrange anything you like (for example, I have to put my lotions and potions into my checked bags instead of my carryon when going straight to the airport).

.

By the way, there is a disembarkation talk that the Cruise Director will give in one of the theaters. You don't need to attend, because it is played repeatedly on your TV on Friday and all throught the night! :lmao:

.

Here's an example of why you don't want to miss Pub Night, if you can at all help it.

There are videos of this on youtube if you want to look for it...or NOT...keep it as a surprise. ::yes::
