I just counted up FE cabins and came up with 18, I was expecting more for some reason. Maybe on Sunday the 14th we can make a BIG post about people updating/advsing on that specific activity...after all...there is shopping to be done.

Just caught up on the threads from the weekend. Wanted to touch on a couple of things.

Jan, we are not celebrating a wedding (did that 11 yrs ago) but we are celebrating DS's 5th birthday. We will also be traveling with nonDis family, my husband's cousins Brian and Danielle with their DD (10) Abby and DS (7) Ethan. We would also like to participate in WOW and GOAA. Thank you so much for organizing us all, it takes a lot of time and you are just wonderful for doing it.

On to catch up on a few other threads.

Hi everyone! My name is Evette and my family and I will be joining you on this cruise. It is our first!! I'm 52, my husband Lance is 50 and our DD Kellie is 22. We will be celebrating Kellie's 23rd birthday on the cruise on September 15. Even though Kellie technically is an adult she has Down Syndrome so I'm a little concerned about how she'll fit in on the cruise. In many ways she's still a "little girl" but she's fun to be around.

We are in cabin 2580 and we have late dining. I'm interested in WOW on the ship. Not sure what excursions we will be doing as Kellie has some mobility issues, she doesn't walk long distances well and stairs can be difficult. Any suggestions?

I bet you will find great ideas in the trip report posted on post 1 page 1 at the bottom and ideas from the cruisers on this Thread. We have a lot of people with experience and differing abilities here. We are traveling for the first time with a baby so do not know what to expect there. But, it's a DISNEY CRUISE and it will be MAGICal no matter what!!

AND....did you know, there will be a full moon on Castaway Cay day. So we all need to try and save some time for a post dinner stroll around the deck (get that packing done early).

My best tip for anyone choosing a healthier way to eat...APPLY WHAT YOU KNOW. If you've had experience in the weight loss game, you know what does and doesn't work for you. Keep Remembering The Things That WORK.

Also, we have a WW leader here as one of our cruise mates, so we'll get lots of encouragement from him!

I just got a book I love by Tosca Reno - she's a mid 40's "healthy" model for Shape and other (Oxygen too) magazines - the book is called "THE EAT CLEAN DIET" - and no it's not a diet but a way to eat healthier!

Wow! And I thought I was a planner. Knowing that there is full moon this night 3 months ahead of time really puts me to shame!

Shots Around the Ship
A Stem to Stern Extravaganza


Save the Date

Shots Around the Ship will take place on Sunday, September 13th, our second night on the ship.

I feel it's a good evening to hold it because the next day, the 14th is an "at sea" day.

It will give everyone a day to settle in and explore and will provide an excellent first opportunity for everyone to meet and get to know each other.

Drink whatever you like, Coke, water, Perrier, chocolate milk, Gin, Vodka, Rum or Rot-gut.

The way this works is we meet in a lounge, stay a while and then move on.

This is a "save the date" only notice. I will send out additional information, including how to sign-up at a later date, after final payment is due, and well before the sailing.




The first "Shots Around the Ship, A Stem to Stern Extravaganza" was held on the Panama Canal repositioning cruise and was a HUGE success, and tons 'O fun.

I love that date too Ian...the Champagne Girls tasting is at 2pm on that date. Champagne and Shots both on the same day is going to be a trip. I'll need a nap in between. Ha. It sounds like it'll be such a great day and night. Good thing the following day is at sea.

100 days from today we will all be getting onboard. YEAH!!!! 96 more days until I leave and start vacation. It won't be long now. Summertime always goes fast. I'm getting so excited. This will be our 7th DCL cruise. Lucky 7!!! Never cruised anyone else and probably won't. I would miss seeing Mickey.

Us is me, DH,DS(15) and our friends with their kids,DS(16), dd(12).We're in a sideways Cat 11 on deck 6. Booked thru DVC with points, staying at Beach Club night before and going to MNSSHP.

We're planning to go to Jost Van **** in Tortula and Coki Beach in St. Thomas. The guys scuba dive.

This is our 7th Disney Cruise.

I feel the exact same way Deb. I doubt we'll ever sail another cruise line. I might "might" consider RCCL, but that's a big maybe. I wouldn't enjoy it, I'd be too busy comparing it to DCL the whole time.

Deb, I so agree with you! This will be DCL #15 for us. DCL is the only line we have ever cruised and I am afraid to try another. I would miss the Magical atmosphere that DCL provides and I am afraid that I would be constantly comparing everything to DCL. And could you even imagine a cruise without CC?

After final payment and well before the cruise I will be letting people know how to "sign-up" for Shots Around the Ship, A Stem to Stern Extravaganza so I will know who to email with meet up info, and also if there is a really big group, give DCL a heads up.

Ian, as people have been commenting about such events I have been making notation on page 1 post 1. You can get an initial list there, make your announcements, and ask for confirmation. Anyone who expressed an interest early on who does not confirm can be sent a PM if you wish. I hoped these listings would make it easier on Group Leaders of Special Events.

Ian, how late is SATS likely to go on for??? According to the Navigators from April's Tortola trip, there's a Sommelier's Collection wine-tasting at Cove Cafe that evening at 10pm which we were hoping to join but we could catch up once that was over if everyone was still knocking them back...
