Saturday morning is a BIG milestone for us. We will be making our ADRs for the trip.

Well, in reality I will be a work, Jackie will be making the ADRs for the trip.

But it is a milestone of sorts.

We (Sukie and I) are all set as far as the parks are concerned. We got our annual passes during this last trip at the beginning of May.

Actually, our good friend MONICA, will be making the ADRs online, as she is a travel agent. I will be on the phone with her offering moral support and dealing with any issues.

Which bringe me to a QUESTION OF THE DAY:

If you were in WDW and wanted a table service lunch....ALL BY YOURSELF, where would you go?

I've done character buffets by myself, but I don't recollect doing a regular table service restaurant alone. Oh, I just thought of my selection (and it's NOT LeCellier, which I love). I'd go to the Brown Derby and sit on the patio and have Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake and watch the people go by. :thumbsup2 (OK...I might have a book with me too). Or maybe the Grand Floridian Cafe, that's a lovely spot too.

Sukie is a vegetarian and has been one for over 30 years, he's not vegan, as he eats dairy and eggs.

There was quite a fuss during our Panama Canal cruise, or rather I should say I made quite a fuss during the cruise, because at Castaway Cay, they told him they didn't have any vegetarian options and suggested he eat bread and potato salad.

It was an issue I would not let drop.

I understand that there are now signs posted on Castaway Cay to ask about vegetarian options.

On Sundays, I lead Weight Watcher meetings. I lost 90 pounds.

I can't believe they didn't have a vegetarian option on CC. They have vegetarian options everywhere else, why shouldn't CC be included?

That's a tough choice Jackie. It depends on what park your in or if you want to eat at one of the hotels?

Jackie...

GF cafe is very lovely...

and at MK... Plaza Inn - end of Main street...

It could be anywhere YOU want for the purpose of this question. For me...it's a free day, I can go anywhere (have park hopper, will travel)

The problem is that there aren't many laid back selections in the parks. I think you've identified the only one, the Brown Derby. You might do better at lunch in one of the resorts, again a good choice with the Grand Floridian Cafe, mainly because it is so light and airy.

There's also The Wave at the Contemporary, which I don't think would be busy, but not light and bright like the others.

Something on the peaceful side might be Trails End at Ft. Wilderness. I think you might be able to just relax, eat at your own pace and read.

A restaurant that might be nice for lunch, and I've liked the look of is Fresh at the Dolphin. You can see photos of it on my Mouse Manager site and here is a link directly to the restaurant's menu:

http://swandolphinmeetings.com/menus/restaurant_menus/fresh/

You could get there by taking the boat from VWL to MK and then the bus to the Dolphin.

That's it, those are my ideas.

INSIDE a park... Plaza Inn...

at a resort... GF Cafe... I like the GF cafe and the GF burger is supposed to be incredible!!! (topped with lobster I hear...)

Ok... I've decided... GF cafe... cause it will take you out of the craziness of the parks and it's a nice break - and it's nice to venture around the resort and you can get there by boat or monorail...

Well, I'll actually be having dinner from Trails End that night (or part of my dinner). I LOVE "Fresh" and have had both breakfast and lunch there. :thumbsup2

I can still 'wing it' as neither Cheri or I want to commit to anything that day. Just see which park I might want to go to and then think of a place then. Afterall, I DO have Disning dining programmed into my cell phone! :lmao:

I'd originally thought to try for a LeCellier lunch ADR, but it's dark in there...so reading while sitting alone could be difficult.

time to head home and grab some grub and maybe a dip in the pool.....

I have what is probably a really stupid ?/comment but must ask.....since ADR's can only be booked 90 days prior shouldn't I only be able to book the stuff for the 4th of September? Or do they allow you to book everything for the res at 90 days from check in date?

Yep, I'm leaning that way over Brown Derby now......

But I'm open to hearing where others would choose.

OH, I had a really good burger at The Turf Club at SSR too...out on the patio...very nice.

...ok heading home from work...later kids

With the resort confirmation number, you can book 90 +10. :thumbsup2

This would be Tuesday on your list and YES you very well COULD be with me, as could Cheri. I think she'd like a 'wing it day' and may be interested in doing some commando park going, or sleeping in late, or both. Do YOU want to go to LeCellier for lunch? wink wink nudge nudge

OK>>>I"M REALLY HEADING FOR HOME NOW

(monica, you have my cell if you want to talk)

Oh yeah, I forgot that this would be the same day as the dining in evening!:rotfl:

Well ok, if I have to pick just one I'll pick one from each park and maybe a few hotels and Downtown Disney.

MK: The Plaza
Epcot: Le Cellier
DHS: Brown Derby
AK: Yak & Yeti
Hotels & DTD: The Wave, Bongo's Cuban Cafe

Ah, Turf Club, that is an excellent choice. Mainly because of the patio and it's extremely quiet and laid back. They would just let have your lunch and leave you alone.

I enjoyed sitting, eating, drinking & reading outside of Shutters & the food court at CBR. Overlooking the water. Not too far from the beverage station (using refillable mug)

I am just learning how to do this stuff... I wanted to add my families names to the list by me. Mike is my husband. the kids are Nick (9) and Lindsay (8). We are ready to go now!! See y'all soon.

Gotcha!

Jackie--check page one and make sure I adjusted the info about the fire to the right place. THANKS!!

Jan :earsgirl:

Not looking good for those of us with fuel surcharges. Oil is up to $68. :sad2:
