Hyatt on Hotwire

Cruisers have recently gotten the Hyatt on Hotwire for September 2....so if any of you are thinking of staying there (or have already booked) you might want to keep checking on it.

Shots Around the Ship
A Stem to Stern Extravaganza


Save the Date

Shots Around the Ship will take place on Sunday, September 13th, our second night on the ship.

I feel it's a good evening to hold it because the next day, the 14th is an "at sea" day.

It will give everyone a day to settle in and explore and will provide an excellent first opportunity for everyone to meet and get to know each other.

Drink whatever you like, Coke, water, Perrier, chocolate milk, Gin, Vodka, Rum or Rot-gut.

The way this works is we meet in a lounge, stay a while and then move on.

This is a "save the date" only notice. I will send out additional information, including how to sign-up at a later date, after final payment is due, and well before the sailing.




The first "Shots Around the Ship, A Stem to Stern Extravaganza" was held on the Panama Canal repositioning cruise and was a HUGE success, and tons 'O fun.

Ian, how late is SATS likely to go on for??? According to the Navigators from April's Tortola trip, there's a Sommelier's Collection wine-tasting at Cove Cafe that evening at 10pm which we were hoping to join but we could catch up once that was over if everyone was still knocking them back...

I'm hoping the Sommelier thing is available on another evening and, if so, we'll obviously opt for that one. Otherwise we shall endeavour to track you all down on the stroke of eleven!!! Unless Cove Cafe is on your SATS itinerary...

Ohhhhh, we can have a party! I'm booking Palo brunch, tea and a dinner because it comes with the REAS package. I'm booking John a hot stone massage. He loves those. I'm only booking one excursion....land and sea tour on Tortola. Then I'm done. It should go well.

Hello from Vancouver, B.C.

After cruising for 70 days, we disembarked the Volendam this morning. It was an incredible adventure. We will spend one week in Vancouver before returning home.

I was originally thinking "no" for this as we haven't even talked about what "family" things we'll be doing together, but now I'm thinking "yes" because I don't want to be left out of anything fun! And GOD KNOWS - hanging with you crazy people is "FUN".

For those of you interested, Fish Extenders are available at your local supermarket.

That reminds me, a couple of years ago, Richard and I booked a romantic break at what seemed a cool boutique hotel in our hometown to coincide with a school reunion. So far so good! Part of the package included champagne and choc-covered strawberries. Yummy! The champagne arrived unchilled and they couldn't provide the choc-covered strawberries so we got a couple of unwashed apples instead... The concierge simply couldn't grasp that it was not the same thing at all - but that's the middle England for you!!! Reminds me why we left...
