2011 is certainly going to be a packed year for us too, cruising in september, and in february we're planning a family trip to singapore for my dad's 70th birthday (he was born over there and moved to the UK in his 20s). he doesnt know anything about it so its going to be a big surprise for him

we were lucky when cerby was little, we had a photographer friend who was training his son and needed "models", so we got a photoshoot for our little bundle of fluff for free

Getting the boat after a drydock would be great, I'm more than willing to do the hard yards to give the ship a good testing I'll leave no bar or deck chair unvisited in my selfless quest!

Hee hee - Oh my! Enjoy those pies! I have been pounding the streets of Ankara searching high and low for a turkey to roast - none to be found!!! Argh! I will be roasting turkey parts this year! Holidays and Expats do go together- I am having friends from Germany, the UK and Korea at my "American" Thanksgiving Dinner-LOL. They are real troopers for coming!

yeah, when we were thinking of getting a dog, gary thought cerberus (2/3 headed mythological dog that guards the gates to hell) would be a great name for a big black dog. unfortunately for him, he didnt really work out that way, so it kinda got shortened to cerby. he's the biggest softest lump ever, and just wants cuddles all the time!
that shot took a LOT of effort (as did the one in the basket), he kept jumping off the chair as soon as we let go, so eventually it was:
hold him, you ready?, still holding him, hold him, hold him, quickly let go, TAKE THE PHOTO!!! unfortunately at that point in cerby's life (about 9 or 10 weeks old) he was not anywhere near as food oriented as he is now. right now as long as i've got a biscuit he'll sit there for ages

and i am kinda hoping for the drydock theory to be right too!! but i do hope that the date change wont happen as we probably wont be able to cruise if it was pulled forward

yeah i think so, fresh, clean, new coat of paint, if they do any enhancements they'll be new. basically you dont get as much of the "ship looks tired and in need of work" thing

Welcome!! What a great first cruise - 14 nights across the Atlantic!!

This will most likely be our 6th Disney cruise. We're hoping to do a short cruise on the Dream earlier in 2011 with the kids.

Hi there!!

First thank you so so much for all the useful tips posted here...it's incredible! DH and I have already booked a 3-Day Bahamas on the Wonder in December just the 2 of us (WooHoo!). Though it's going to be our first cruise, we're major fans of WDW and the Parks!

To celebrate our anniversary, we have also decided that we want to take the WBTA in Sept 2011. I read somewhere that you can get a 10% reduction if you book your next cruise while you're on the ship. We're interested in booking either a Cat 4 or 5. So, ok here's my question: is it better to book our WBTA soon (and presumably get the room we want) or wait 'til next December to book the 09/11 WBTA while we're on our cruise (and therefore get the 10% reduction)? I am so so excited and cannot wait to meet you all (and my fellow Quebecoise AnKaG! )
