September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

yes, definitely hurricanes for the SPP reunion. AND konk koolers AND margaritas! AND anything else our magnificent pro-bartender jay can hook us up with.

i agree with you donnica. next time i'm on grand cayman i'm going to just do the stingray thing then drink the rest of the day or drink on the ship. don't forget those hefty prices on GC. drinks listed at $5-6CI, end up being like $9 USD!

you know what's funny, i had a better margarita in key west than i did at carlos & charlie's. i know that sounds blasphemous, but truly, the carlos&charlie's margarita sucked. even though it was the size of a dog bowl. :teeth: but christine "made" me finish it cause i paid for it!

stina :earboy2:

ha ha--it WAS the size of a dog bowl! plus, i figured if you drank it you'd be more compliant with my leading you back to the ship.

next time i would spend more time on the ship while at port in grand cayman. definately. woj, you didn't really miss anything. it was pretty, but i liked key west and cozumel best! key west for the scenery & bars and cozumel for the shopping.

next time we most definately will not be doing the key west kayak thing. i'm proud of us for doing it, but don't need to put myself through that again. my key west arm exercise will take place at sloppy joe's, thank you very much.

other than those 2 things, i wouldn't change a thing about our cruise! except maybe i would have left BEFORE the teenager started screeching (not singing) that Ironic alanis morissette song at the Studio Sea karaoke bar. that hurt.

Now see I had a better margarita experience at Carlos 'n Charlie's. Mine were very good this time. last time I had ONE and switched. I guess it's like anywhere else... if ya get the wrong bartender your drink will suck.

Ummmm ok how many drinks do you plan on "sampling" next weekend? LOL I have to say I like the way you think! I suspect you plan on jumping right in where you get here. I guess I might have to think about being there nice and early lol

SPP rules!

I had a pretty delicious margarita in Key West, too. Granted, we were at the ummm, "beach" and it was the ONLY establishment around, and we were thirsting to death, but it was great!

Anyone else get Castaway Club Shore Survival Kits in the mail? Those things are cool! I was so psyched. Disney doesn't have to woo me, I can't wait to do it all over again!

Donnica: of course SPP rules! :grouphug:

I didn't get a packet in the mail but then again they might not have my address down. My tickets got sent to FLTink's house so I don't know if they would use that address or the one I used on the forms when we got on the ship. I want one!!!!!!!! Carnival and RCCL sends you their little magazine thing free for the year after you sail which is probably only twice a year.

I wanna go backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Donnica, I haven't gotten anything for you. I got mine and Jay's and, oddly enough, Eriks. None for you or David yet.
The cd that they send is very cool but on mine I'm not getting any pictures or anything. Just the music. Hmmmmm.....anyone get pictures on theirs???? I wish they included music from the shows. That would have been cool.

HEY! Speaking of shows.....anyone have an opinion on the new Twice Charmed??? I'm particularly interested to know what your Castaway Club members thought if you had seen Hercules in the past.

I got mine!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! I'm an official club member!
Ok this is my take on you getting Eric's.... see... it was sent to you so that he wouldn't get it and think about our trip and everyone again and make him want to contact again. See this way maybe he will completely forget about us all and since we will not speak of his name again... it's a done deal. :cool1:

It's a dreary rainy day and it makes me want to be sitting under an umbrella on Castaway Cay. I bet sitting there looking out at the beach drinking Konk Koolers under an unbrella watching the rain on a nice warm day would be kinda nice. I love watching the rain and being out but under something when it's warm. Ok I'm a hopeless romantic lol

I love that fact the one of the songs on the CD has "Chonch Cooler" in the title.

bump.

dunno. also at CC there was a bar called "Conched Out" but the drink was labeled as "Konk Kooler" maybe like Konk the character from The Emperor's New Groove. He was a cool character.

where are all the sept. 10 cruisers? have y'all finally faced the hard reality now that it's a month later that we are not on the Magic? our Magic is over!!!

stina ::MinnieMo

I don't think it's after the Emperor's New Groove character cuz his name is Krunk like "drunk". I think that those Disney folks just spelled it two different ways for fun. (Just my theory)

I think we are the die hard cruisers.... the one's that won't let the dream die! Everyone was all.... yeah we have to still do the board and talk after the cruise. Yeah... ah huh... <lookin at the DIS'ers that could care less.

thanks fltink! i was confusing "konk" with "krunk"!

now can you explain to me why it's "key west" and "castaway cay" (cay pronounced "key")? this cay/key pronunciation thing confounds me.

keeping the sept. 10 thread going...we can't let it die!!!!

:earboy2: stina

Stina I was having trouble with the key/cay thing as well. I think I lik ethe sound of castaway KAY better then key as well. I mean jeez didn't they name it themselves?

To add to the confusion..... while it is Castaway Cay (KEE) on the island, the restaurant on the ship is Parrot Cay (KAY) onboard!

i'm nerdy i know. :teacher:

from dictionary.com

cay (*P*)**Pronunciation Key**(cay, long a, or syn. key)
n. A small, low island composed largely of coral or sand.

guess it can be spelled or pronounced either way.

AHHHHHHHHHH you'll make my brain hurt!!!

We are down to hours now kids! :cool1:

who is it that wanted photos of the bon-jovi boys from 80s night on the Sept. 10 magic cruise? i have several photos!!! they are hilarious. let me know your email and i would be happy to send them to you.
