September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

I need some input/advice from you guys. I had initially booked the DCL transfers when we booked our cruise back in May '04. I recently cancelled the transfers (received credit back from DCL) and reserved a rental to save a few $$. But when we rec'd our docs from Disney they included DCL transfer vouchers anyway.

Now, here's the question. I'm considering ditching the rental car and going back to DCL for the transportation (it's free right?). Should I keep the car or take the bus? :confused3 Does DCL have a pre-printed roster of guests that it checks before passengers board it's busses?

Unless it's changed recently, DCL transfers are not free. In fact, I believe they are rather costly

DCL transfers are I think $50 per person. We are renting a car from Budget for friday. We wanted freedom to go to publix or anywhere else we wanted to go. Plus we get in at 815am to MCO so we have all day friday to go somewhere.

I really need to leave work to go wash clothes and pack. I have so much to do before we leave.

Sorry if I was misunderstood. I bought and paid for the DCL transfers at $49/person. Then I decided to save a few bucks and go with a rental car. I cancelled the DCL transfers. Received a credit back to my card for them and booked the rental car. However, I think my docs were printed before my cancellation went through and I rec'd the transfer vouchers anyway. So, in essence, they're "free". Just wondering if I could still get on the bus with the vouchers or do they have a system to check the passengers names against.

Woj68,
I know when we used disney transportation last year (it was free due to the hurricaine shortening our 4 night to a 3 night) you had to check in and they did have a list. That was at Animal kingdom lodge not sure how it is elsewhere and it was after the hurricaine.

My DH and I have been playing the "Next week we will be....." too! I cannot wait till SATURDAY!! And about the storm GO AWAY!!! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO RAIN ON MY PARADE!!!!

:teeth:

Just wanted to see if anyone else was busy packing. (Well, obiviously I am taking a break at the moment) I can't wait for the packing to just be done!!! I wish I could pack Harry Potter style (what is it that moves things...wingardium leviosa or something?)

Got the suitcases set up in the living room. And got some clothes out. That's about it. The real packing will begin on Thursday night.

I can't pack until I do laundry and I can't do laundry until Thursday night after work. Then I'll probably pack after class Friday night. That will be a busy day! I work 8:30-5, then have class from 6-9, then have to pack! And sometime before that busy day, I need to mow my grass before we leave! YIKES!!! It just might be worth paying my neighbor kid to mow this time! :)

Well, since we are leaving Thursday afternoon, I have no choice but to take on the task now. I have only made it part way through but I think I'm going to have to stop for tonight. I have to be up for work at 4am so bed calls. :o)

Hey, there's talk on the DCL web site of embarkation for the Thursday Wonder cruise taking place in Ft. Lauderdale if Port Canaveral gets that Tropical Storm. Everyone blow really hard and push it away by Saturday!!!!!!!

Okay - there has to be someone out there who keeps up with these storms. I saw a post where the tropical storm will be right over Florida on Friday. Do you feel like I will have trouble with my flight Friday afternoon? I am trying to stay calm!!! :confused3

It's so hard to tell with Florida storms. They can completly change direction in a matter of hours. I'm nervous about our Thursday flight. It's looking like the storm may hit then. I think Jay and I are going to be prepared to fly out earlier is need be. We're flying JetBlue and it's only $25 to change your ticket. If the storm looks like it's going to impact a fligth Thursday night, we'll try for the morning or maybe even tomorrow night. I'll keep an eye on it. I'll also contact my firnd in Orlando and see what thay are hearing and update you all as much as possible. Keep your fingers, toes, and eyes crossed!

As long as we can get on the ship, I wouldn't care where embarkation is! I just hope the Magic can get back to port on time for us. And then, I hope the storm isn't strong enough to cause problems for us flying in Saturday morning.

hey were both packed and ready waking up at 4am, catching the plane at 730am and in about 12 hours we will be getting ready to land!
cant weight, except for the 4am part! lol

going to the Magic Kingdome tomorrow!

I didn't see your post until after I did mine about travel concerns! So at least you're not alone in your worries. But I'm going to try not to think about it too much because I don't think there's much I can do about it anyway. We'll all just hope for the best! :flower:

Ok......Orlando says, two of the storms are no threat at all. The one storm that is a concern may be hitting the Orlando area Thursday night into Friday morning. It should be clear of the area by the time we set sail. Now... let's keep an eye on those flights!

Hello all... 2diskids, sorry to hear about your brother, that's really tough. I think a number of us here REALLY NEED this vacation!! To all those who are jealous of us going I say.... neer neer. <pretty mature huh?> :rotfl2:

My week has gotten a switched around backwards, I hope I end up at the right places at the right time. One thing is for sure.... I will be at the airport in the right place at the right time!!!

Storms? There are no stinkin storms.... pshhht that ain't no thang.

I got socks and a pirate knife... I'm getting there LOL I will probably be the saddest looking pirate Disney has ever seen BUT.... I could just be their inspiration for their next CARTOON! Imagine.... ME... on the big screen! Ahhhh to dream.

Are we there yet? :moped:
