September 1, 2007 Eastern Magic! Early but Excited!

We have a family of 3 (me, DH & dd who will almost be 5) and will be also traveling w/ both sets of grandparents. Should be fun.

Oh, such a great age to have a girl on a DCL cruise, I wanted to adopt one that age just for the experience! I have rowdy boys but love seeing the little girls decked out and waiting for princesses to get pics with. My boys loved the shows at that age but now, 7 & 8, want to be in kids club playing with friends instead of going to the shows. You are going to love it! Unless having both sets of grandparents drags you down! Its nice to leave them with the pager while you are at Palos in case kid wants out of or doesn't want to go to kids club but going on 3 day with my inlaws was a little much as they just followed us around saying they wanted to do WHATEVER we were doing.............

Welcome! What a fantastic 1st Birthday! Our son was 18 months on our first 3-day Disney Cruise, 24 months on our second, a 4-day, and he'll be 3 1/2 this time. You'll be limited somewhat in the things you can do, of course, but you will all have a great time!!

We just got back from the outlet mall. Pretty much finished up clothes shopping for the trip. Hubby still wants to buy a sports coat and I need to find at least one princess dress-will be shopping online today for that. Also the little stuff we can pick up in the coming weeks at wal-mart. I feel like we are ready to go now. It is becoming so much more real. Now's a good time to shop, end of summer sales, stores are trying to make room for back to school stuff coming in. Have fun getting ready. only 43 days left.

We'll be on this cruise too - it's our second Disney cruise, we did the western Caribbean last year. There's nine of us on this one - our four kids, me and my wife, my mother, my grandmother, and our teenage babysitter (I don't think she'll be doing much babysitting on this cruise )
We're staying at AKL villas (my favorite hotel, btw.) after wards for 4 days (so I can celebrate my Bday with the mouse on 09/11 ). We've already started packing and getting ready - only one month left!!!!

Hey, our three year old son will be turning four on 9/2. How cool to celebrate your son's first birthday on the Disney Boat (what my daughters call it).

Our rooms are guaranteed. We have connecting rooms - 6600 & 6602.

We're leaving NJ a few days early so just 29 days left until I'm in sunny FL!

Could you tell me when you found out your cabin numbers. Good deal winding up with connecting cabins. I wonder if that happens much?

What kind of guarantees did you book to wind up with balconies?

I was just looking at the schedule for launches and there will be a launch in Cape Canaveral the night before our sail. The launch is scheduled between 8:30PM and 1:30AM. Hopefully there will be more info later about exact times. I am not sure if those of us staying at the port will be able to see it or not, but since we are there it is worth a shot.

After looking at KSC site it looks like the time is acutally 8:24PM EST. I have been told on the main board that you can see it from port and probably from you individual hotel rooms. I will keep you posted.

Wow! That's great news! I have seen a launch from Cocoa Beach and it was awesome! I really hope it's a go!

To tell you the truth, Bill - I'm not sure! My TA took care of everything. We originally wanted a suite but they had just sold out (Melinda!) He suggested the connecting rooms as it still gives us 2 bathrooms, a little extra living space and a little privacy between all five of us (one of my sons needs his own space in order to settle down.) My children are still too young to be in a totally separate room (as in without the connecting door). As for the balconies - no idea! I told him what I wanted - he did it! We formally booked in early February, 2007. We got a good deal so I'm guessing there was still alot of opportunity for the connectors at that point.

OK it doesn't sound like you booked guarantees. We booked a cat 12 guarantee which means you get at least that category cabin or better but you don't get to pick your cabins. Disney picks them out abour 30 days prior to sailing.

I've been checking since the 30day mark but no luck.

Our party includes: Me, DBF, DS (18), DS (13) and my mom! Mom and I did the Western cruise last September (and had the time of our lives), but this will be the first cruise for my boyfriend and my boys! We are celebrating graduations and birthdays for each of the boys, so this should be a blast!
