Looking at the latest park hours posted, it says Soarin' and Monsters Inc. are closed Sept. 5th. Does anyone know how long these rides are to be closed for? I can't find updated info. on date ranges for closures. Thanks.

I just saw this too and am wondering the same thing. We are going Sept. 9-13 and there are already quite a few rides that are closed. This trip is getting more and more frustrating every day.

We need to add this to the black hole thread! In addition, the reduced staff until Sept 30th. When people complain about how bad their week was, we can always say "well it could be worse, you could have gone during black hole week"

I just looked this up via the DL interactive map.

Good news - Soarin is a short refurb, showing Sept 5th - 6th
Bad news - Monsters Inc is a longer refurb, showing Sept 5th - 21st

Thank you! I didn't know you could see refurb info. that way. Are you looking through the website or the app? That information isn't showing up for me. Sad about Monster's Inc (never have ridden it) but glad Soarin' is short - that's what I was hoping.

Do you have a link to the map showing refurb dates? When I look at the map all it says is no time available on 9/5

In early September a number of rides are down for the holiday overlay. Regulars know this and some tend to stay away. It's a perfect time to do some ride maintenance from Disney's perspective. But a bummer for folks who attend during this time.

This is the link from the DL website: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/map/

If you go to the specific park's dot, then click 'View on a Map,' it'll take you to the mapped attractions/entertainment/dining list. You can click on a specific attraction, go to the date you want, then click on the map view for that ride and it'll show the refurb info.

It's a lot of clicking around, but it's the only way I've been able to find the specific date range for refurbs.

If anyone else has a quicker way, please share!

Got it! Thanks, that is really helpful. :)

I'm not seeing anywhere to change the dates when you're in map view. When I click on the attraction in just says the general info and then if I click Learn more, it brings me to the ride page and away from the map.

Also... just clicked Space Mountain. Can't quite make out what it says at the bottom, but does anyone else see Sept. 9-Oct. 31?

Monsters Inc is closed my whole trip. :( Thank you for posting; at least I know now. So that means I have a grand total of FOUR rides I plan on hitting at DCA (RSR, CS, Mermaid, TSM). Any bets on how long I spend there? ;)

Depending on when you are going in Sept, RSR MAY be down for a bit for Halloween overlays. This is unknown because it will be the first time. It may be an overnight thing, or a few days thing.

I understood that, but referring to the screenshot I took, I'm pretty sure it says something about Sept. 9.

I saw Sept 9th too. Maybe a soft opening before the Halloween official date of the 15th? I wouldn't count on it though. Since I have been checking a month ago, the date has changed 3 times!

It will be up for sure the 15th of sept though as "ghost galaxy".

My understanding is there's no RSR overlay, just one for Carsland and the two smaller rides. But our trip starts after the 15th so even if they do close, we should be ok. If not somehow, not a deal breaker for us. I hate Cars and I'm only really going on it due to the hype. :P

There has been no information released about RSR getting anything for Halloween at this point, only the other 2 rides in Carsland. We will have to wait and see if this affects ride closures but it isn't looking like RSR would be closed as of now.
