Is there something special going on towards the end of Sept (pre Food & Wine) that's making it almost impossible to find a room at Disney? I've gone several times in Sept, and it's usually empty, so I didn't expect to have such a hard time finding a room! I ended up only being able to get something at All Star Music (which I've never been to), but I'm wondering if there's something going on that's going to make the parks more crowded than I expect? I knew if anyone would know it's the DIS podcast listeners. :) I'm taking a friend who's never really been to Disney World (she last went when she was 5.)

hmmm I know they have the nights of joy during sept 9th ish cause thats when Im going but touring plans said a 3 crowd level so I don't think anything. oh boy I thought I would be smooth sailing in Sept.

did you try POP it is also value and is laid out a lot larger and has better food court and best bus service on any Disney property. were going 9/19/2011 for two weeks but have had reservations for long time and got the free dining as well but upgrade to have the one TS a day also for character breakfast and better dining at nite. we liked October best as crowds are less and is less humid but had to go earlier this year. we have stayed at all stars all three of them over the years but once we went to POP that took care of that.:dance3: call them each day as people do cancel

saphire76-Our dates are Sept 22-28. I've gone in Sept a few times and have had almost completely empty parks. I'm guessing there won't be a problem, but I'm just curious why it's so hard to find something.

Pop is the first place I tried, I've stayed there several times and love it. AS Music was the only value or moderate that I could even find for my dates. I've heard such varied reports about All Stars, I'm not too excited to stay there (though a friend of mine loves it there.) Since I got an annual pass last year, I've taken more last minute trips (I used to plan about a year in advance), and never had this problem. Last October, I made plans a week before coming down (one of the times we stayed at Pop. ;))

I went the first week of September last year (first solo trip) and had no problems booking. I ended up at POR. The Parks were practically empty and I TOTALLY had a blast! Met up with DisUplugged group for Mojito Mission!

This year, I am going September 13th thru 20th (partial-solo trip) and I also had problems getting a room. POP, POR and POFQ were booked... very strange. :confused3 I ended up splitting my stay. I booked 2 nights at ASMu (only value available) and Wilderness Lodge for 5 nights.

I know there were tons of Brazilian Tour Groups at the Parks last year... maybe they have more groups coming? :scared1:

There's been some really good offers going out to people....that's how we got a trip in. Booked it 2 weeks ago. The deal was so good that we couldn't pass it up....plus we got free dining. We are going on 9/4/11 for 8 days...staying at the ASMusic. We really like that resort...hope you do too.
