Okay,
So I'm probably becoming an old wheel with this, but since I'm always excited about getting to go to the World for whatever reason, this one seems a little more close to home. Since I collect the pins and all, PTU seemed like a logical choice for a reason to make a trip there! LOL. ANYWHO! I was just checking in and seeing if anyone else was going down for the 4th through the 8th for whatever reasons and if anyone would be able to tell me if I land at MCO at 3 do you think I'd make it to AK in time to ride EE before they close at 5?! ANYONE?

Is your luggage being delivered to your room?

If you hopped in a cab, it could be possible, but tight!

We're only bringing carry ons, and we're going to get a rental, but I think I'm going to expidite things by preregistering with National so all we have to do is go to the kiosk and check in and go from there.

I would budget an hour from getting in the rental car to the front gate of DAK, then you will have to budget time to walk to EE, that is if you already have your tickets...

If the flight is delayed that could mess you up, so I also always try to tell myself that if the plane is delayed, that it shouldn't take more than an hour. HAHAHA ME takes about an hour once you get there. Depending on crowds, time of day, and gate location, you can add at least another 15 minutes to that total. I look at it as a budget of 2 hours of time from the projected plane landing time.

Add to all of this the time to check into the resort and make the mad dash to check out the room, then time to jump on a Disney bus to get to the park for me is always another hour of time budgeting.......

So, for me no, I couldn't make it happen. If you took a cab or rented a car, maybe, but it would be a squeeker at best. Baggage claim and rental car counter are going to take a good chunk of time too, as would parking. Then of course there is the tram to the front of the park, ticket stiles, bag checks, and the hoof to the back of the park. I am assuming that you have an AP, otherwise you are going to have to pay for parking on top of all of this too.

Are you sure this frantic rush is how you want to start a Disney trip? :confused3

Well the DH and I decided that we're not going to try and squeeze it into the first day, we'll try to put it on another day while we're down there. Not the 5th though, he's going to go do the Richard Petty Expierience. OY. Our friend said her brother did it and came back with bruises all down his sides. LOL. Here's hoping he doesn't come back that way! LOL. Planning some extra curricular activities while we're there. ;)

I knew nothing about this pin trading thing until a few months ago. Are there specific types of pins that are required to trade? I must have about 100 of the small WDW lapel-type pins from when I used to collect them in the early-mid 90's.

Fred and I will be at the Pin Event. We arrive thursday afternoon. We're leaving as soon as I get off work. We'll check in at Pop, and then go to Dinner with a bunch of friends from Dizpins board. Then we'll go to Y&B club convention bldg to pick up our goodies.

I'm a Cafeteria Manager with Volusia County Schools. And I'm so happy I got a Cafeteria Framed set. It's going on my wall in my office. We are so looking forward to the event. Look for us and maybe we can fit in some pin trading with you. Fred will have a Disney vest on loaded with pins. And I'll probably have a POOH shirt on, and also a lanyard full of Pooh!! LOL!!

By the way, I gifted the Richard Petty driving experiance for my hubby for our 24 year wedding anniversary this past July. He loved it! And no bruises at all. Can't imagine why your friend got so banged up.

Blessings,
Winnie

Sorry to hear that Tiggr, I'll take pictures for you, anyone in particular you want photographed?! :)

Thanks for the offer, but I can't think of anyone I need or want photographed. Don't be sorry, I'm not going by choice. I have been so heavily involved in pins for 9 years, that sometimes you just need a break. Mostly from the people and their warped sense of pin value, and I'm sick of scappers and the number of sharks.

I don't look at it that way, I just find pins I like to look at and go for them. LOL. I'm sure this might be my first and last one, if it's anything like you say, chances are 3/4 of my pins are going to turn out to be fakes! LOL. Here's to hoping they're not! ;)

My job used to be to trade pins and teach pin workshops at Epcot.

After a year of 40 hours a week dedicated to pins, I try and avoid them now! :rotfl:

Ahh, so I'll only be seeing you at the pavillions then Conc? LOL. Make sure you PM me soon with a phone number to reach you and what times I can when I'm down there to meet up, and possibly get you a drink or meal somewhere. LOL.

Now that I live twice as far from work, it makes it harder to get back out there after my shift. I'll do what I can though :thumbsup2
