I would have a nice long breakfast at Goofy's kitchen. I don't know where you are staying, but we stay offsite. Since we don't stay there, we enjoy wandering around the GCH and DLH.

We are going in Sept. too!!:cool1:

Have fun!

Obviously, y'all didn't read the OP's post fully. She has a "little one", and I know that little ones DO NOT sleep in at Disneyland. :lmao:

You could check if Build-A-Bear is open. Go for an early morning swim/jacuzzi? I enjoy exploring the resort hotel grounds or wandering over to the GCH to sit by the fire and listen to the pianist.

We have done the character breakfast which I think it is a great time, that way you can hit the parks at 10 a.m. with full bellies no need to stop and eat.

I guess DH and I are lucky. Our kids (Ryan 8 and Luke 4) can easily sleep in while at DL. I guess it's because they're so tired from the previous full day at DL.:rotfl:

We've never had a problem sleeping in at DL. Sure, we'll get up for the occasional EE, but most of the time, we just lays about all morning.:teeth:

But, if they WERE early risers, we'd probably have a nice breakfast somewhere. I like the sound of going to the pool and hot tub too.:thumbsup2

We are going in Oct. and the park probably won't open till 10am as well so we've planned a character breakfast on one of the mornings so we can get some character autographs and pictures out of the way before the park even opens!

i agree with sleeping in!

we always feel that when the park is open, we need to be IN THE PARK. we rarely leave for "breaks" whether we are staying on site or off site.

when we went in May we were dragging so bad by the end of the week and barely even getting up in time to get ready for early entry and such.

for our Sept. trip, i'm actually looking forward to a later opening so i can get up and eat breakfast and dress kids and not feel so rushed and tired.

however, if you are an early riser, i recommend a character breakfast for sure with PS prior to park opening.

My kids sleep longer there too because of the blackout curtains in the hotel room. They don't know if it's still night time or not, so they just go back to sleep, as long as I stay in bed too.

Why does everyone have this utmost need to rush in the early morning, specially the ones who goes there a lot?

They don't change daily nor you'll be missing much if you enter the park later than normal.

10am- go have a leisure breakfast. goofy's kitchen is ok but not superb (you'd be better off somewhere if you're on a budget).

Downtown disney is good and probably cool and fresh at that time of the day, plus your other food options are there.

or wake up late and be more energized.

have fun and take your time.

My kids didn't get up that early while at DL, the black out curtains are awesome!
Also, they were soo tired they slept in til 7 or 8. They played while we got ready, my 5 yr old had to do his homework in the AM.
We ate breakfast in the room(DLH) and then walked leisurely thru DTD for EE.
But if my kids did get up at 6am, we would probably do a character breakfast 2 of those mornings. if you're staying at DLR do EE to Build a Bear at 9am on a day that the park is not EE.

If it opens at 10:00 that means they will let you into the park at 9:30 and you can walk around main street. How long of a time are you looking to fill? My boys were up at 7:00 and after eating and getting ready we were ready by 8:30. I let them watch one Disneychannel show while dad and I got ready and then we were out the door by 8:50-9:00 and waited in line.
