Woot woot! She's sliding right on by!

I'm wanting chicken pox to stay away... I've seen it on too many people's fb statuses recently! Aggh could you imagine it?

Our last big holiday with the kids (besides last week that is, lol), Fiji in 2007 or 2008, my eldest DD got very sick with a vomiting bug and was dehydrated. We spent ONE DAY of our holiday on a lovely island then had to turn around and come back, she was too ill to take a risk with (under two years old in very hot mid summer Fiji temps, and not drinking). We had an island nurse wanting to give her all sorts of meds that she'd not have gotten at home so we didn't want to chance it, so that was the end of that. We were able to claim back the unused portion of our holiday (which was very little $$ wise as you use all your airfares etc)... so long story short, we've had that holiday-ended-by-illness experience and don't want it again!! Coughs, colds, flus, vomiting bugs, broken bones and chickenpox, begone!! :wizard:

Kylieh, I just hope that you didn't cook anything that required too much stirring! We ALL need to stay injury free! :goodvibes

Batty mum, I was thinking about your son's grand final, good about no injuries - bad about the result  DS's step brother lost his soccer grand final in the final seconds of the game.....ouch! :headache:

As for tipping competitions, I don't even bother, I always tip with my heart and my beloved Parramatta Eels were practically useless this year - so I know better than to even enter one! ;). Therefore, I will be paying for my own hairdo next Tuesday! :sad2:

PS......check it out, Tink's butt has completely cleared the second last teacup! :yay::yay::yay:
Easy dinner cooking for me - DH needed to dish up though!

No good for anyone with results for our kidlets.

Football wise, at least the Bulldogs weren't last....

I think we need to declare the next month or so injury and sickness free month. I don't care how many times my family become injured or sick when we get back. Just nothing before :lmao:

DD is getting a cold, again. DH is getting a cold. DD has an MRI tomorrow for her dodgy knee, not that it changes anything for the trip, just hope it's not a bad find, SIL has a cold, and DNiece has another cold. 19 sleeps family. We can do this. We can do this!!! I want to put one of those accident style boards up at home, the type they have in a factory.

There seems to be so much sickness in our community at the moment - coughs, colds and flu - I am so worried we will get something. We've all just gotten over colds and then I walked in to DD6's classroom this morning to see her sitting on the mat facing a little boy who was coughing heaps with no hand or elbow over his mouth :scared1: No wonder she comes home with every cold possible it seems :sad2: Then, as she is an asthmatic, the colds often goes to her chest and onto Ventolin and Redipred she goes. So frustrating.....

Hey, look at my Pluto and Mickey! They are together which is a bit premature since we still have over 3 weeks to go! :rotfl:

No more getting sick everybody, we need to be quarantined - especially from the icky general public that I have to deal with for the next 7 work days. :headache:

Paging Dr George Clooney, paging Dr George Clooney....where the hell is he? I have been a very patient patient! I know that he could fix my foot!

Busy Busy - would that be Dr Doug Ross

Couple of questions for you all:
1. Are you bothering to lock your luggage with the highly overpriced TSA locks, and if yes can you explain why? I can't decide if it's worth it seeing as how they can just unlock them, who are you preventing getting into it?
2. Does anyone know whether the NRL grand final will be telecast on any US tv stations? If not do you think it will be online the next day? My poor dh is desperate as his beloved Broncos are doing well!!!

I was going to write Dr Ross, but I thought I might have been the only one old enough to remember early ER!

I'm tired! Awake until 1.30am sorting out our Atlantis reservations. It was worth it though, we have now saved almost $500 on our original booking AND we get 2 free dolphin swims. Only problem is that they will have to see me in a wetsuit! poor flippers!

So after dreaming luggage locks, I think I've decided to buy some while we are in the US and lock them on the way home and not worry on the way over as there won't be anything more valuable then my 3 year old GHD in there. If they want to steal my old cotton bonds then good luck to them

Am I the only woman on earth that doesn't own a GHD? I not only come from the tall family, I also come from the straight hair family, I would kill for just one curl! ;)

OK so what is a GHD - I guess I dont own one!

As for TSA locks - I dont think I will bother - we will be taking five bags - probably would cost $100 to get enought locks.

We went to Thailand a couple of years ago and I secured every part of our bags with cable ties, I was more concerned about people putting something IN the bags! (must have read that on TA)

Problem was, we couldnt carry anything that would open them, such as scissors or sharp knife - it was quite a problem, I think DH had to morph into Macgyver (sp?) to break into them when we got there. :rotfl:

hey there

luggage locks are awesome, but a bugger when they go bad....

And a chick here at work has just announced her son has german measles:eek: [i havent had it] and is here at work........seriously, if I get them I will kill her slowly and with feeling...

9 days to go......

German measles are bad that lady should quarantine herself..what if she has them and comes in contact with a pregnant woman...not good.

2 sleeps here. No ghd though I do have curly hair - I just embrace it. when i get my hair done they straighten it and I pretend to be soenmone else for 48 hours.

My dh will no doubt spend 1/2 the trip trying to find coverage of the Rugby world cup.:confused3

I wish I had curly hair or straight hair, instead I have a cow lick and frizz

German measles :scared1: she should not be at work, even if she's had them herself she could still be a carrier!!
May I suggest wearing a surgical mask to work for the next 9 days ;)

If it wasn't for the embarassment we would suffer, I too would have us all wearing surgical masks during the lead up to this trip :lmao: I don't think I have ever been so worried about one of our family going down with sickness leading up to any other of our past trips! I guess it's because I have never put so much planning, research and time thinking (e.g. Disboards!) about any other trip like this one before. It's also because it is a trip where most days, and certainly every one for the first 9 while we are onsite, are totally planned out so it would be a disaster if anyone was sick in bed in the hotel room :scared1:

There seems so be so much cold and flu around at the moment here. I've never taken anything preventative before but I'm just about to go out and buy some Immunofort for us to start taking.

I  MacGyver. ;) Still the best.

+ 1 here on the cow lick. I hate it. But dead straight baby fine hair. No GHD here.

You could pretend you were in Japan :rotfl2:

I love my GHD, but will have to live without if. It is older, so the voltage is 220-240, and will not work in the US. I brought a cheapie over there last time which is horrid. My hair is naturally frizzy, and will not cope with the humidity in Florida, so I will resort to wearing a cap.

My 2 year old has given me conjunctivitis! I am overdosing on chlorsig to clear it up.

What attractive hair some of us will have in WDW!! Humidity makes my fine, straight hair even finer and straighter!! I end up looking like the sister of Neil from the Young Ones!! :rotfl:

So........it's up into a ponytail and on with a cap!! That's actually one thing that shocked me about DL in 2009 - it was crazy hot and barely anybody had a hat on........what??!! :confused3
