Did you cancel your card - they must have the details - wouldnt want it to be declined with all that shopping you plan on doing in NYC.!!!

I know - how can I fill those extra suitcases that I plan to buy without my credit card?! The US economy is relying on me!

...anyway - all cancelled and fixed up - the bank will deal with it from here - and I will deal with it the only way I know how - Disboards, Foxtel crime channel (get those perps!), of course, Tim Tams.

Oh my goodness!! Unbelievable (and scary!!)

We just got sent new credit cards by the bank, "diamond" ones being offered at the same rate as the gold cards we have. All we have to do is start using them to get an increased reward rate (that's really the only advantage) but if we do that, then I worry all the bookings I have on my current credit card won't be honoured. I believe that with accomodation for eg, they run a $1 'test' charge the day before you arrive and if it doesn't go through then they'll assume you're a fake booking and there goes your hotel room.

What will you do for those sorts of bookings Busy Busy? If it's easy enough to deal with, maybe I can deal with it too and take advantage of the new cards (one of the other reasons I'm tempted is because I feel like a new number isn't a bad idea, because I imagine the longer you have a card/number in circulation, the more likely it is the wrong person will try something fraudulent on it kwim).

OMG! thats just the thing you hear on the news and on A Current Affair not someone you know..... Scarry that someone would be such a low life as to try to impersonate you at the bank... Changing Card numbers sounds like a good idea.... Why didn't the Banks think of that instead of giving us Cards valid for 3 or 4 years....

Especially when you are going away, you don't need the added stress .. thank god for Tim Tams lol

I'm not worried about that (or at least I wasn't )........anyway, we've paid for EVERYTHING in advance - so they had better honour our reservations!!

We'll be using our ANZ travel cards that we have put money onto, and just using the credit card (different bank) for when the hotels need one (or if my DH feels like taking me back to Tiffany & Co), so my shopping money was never in danger - collective sigh of relief everybody!

It was weird, I could pay for things today, but when I went to get money from the ATM nothing came out. I had been BLOCKED by the bank and couldn't get anything sorted out over the phone, they had to see me. That's what mainly freaked me out because if I had been overseas when this happened it would have been awfully hard to present myself at a branch!!

Better news - today in 4 weeks will have been my last day at work before we leave I have 8 weeks worth of things to do before then, but I'll think about that tomorrow Miss Scarlett!

we also got "upgraded" new cards in the mail, but i dont want to change all my existing credit card payments.....so we cut them up...I'm happy with what I have.

Started packing today. I thought we were organized but we seem to be short on socks for one son, undies for another and t shirts without holes for the third. Only 4 more sleeps!

4 weeks in the good old USA for me, in August/September 2011.

4 nights Vegas / 7 nights New York / 5 nights off-site Orlando / 10 nights at POFQ.

POFQ is already booked and paid for in full. Got the free dining package.

New York - accommodation is booked, but not paid for yet.

Still working on the other two...looks like it will be MGM in Vegas - but waiting to see if I can get a deal...and tossing up where to stay on I-Drive - want to be near US/IOA but also the SHOPS!!!

There are 3 of us going - I was telling my folks about my trip and they asked if they could come! so why not??

Already have two airfares booked (used the FF points) - now just need to pay for one - hoping for a $1K return on Qantas!

Go to the WDW website, there is usually a 'specials' section to click on - it will have the dates and details. Also look in the dining section here on Disboards. That's how I found out about it, then I booked it on the WDW site, and now we have 4 1/2 weeks until we arrive at the Wilderness Lodge and start the free chomping!

I know what you mean about being organised, I think I have everything and then I will remember another small little thing and all of a sudden I feel like I am in panic mode.
