I know pop-up showers are very common in the summer, but what about middle of Sept?

I would say on any given day, you have a 15 - 20 % chance of a shower.

The times I've been in September, it's probably had a 10 minute shower. Something you could almost dodge by deciding to get a quick snack.

I wouldn't bother to even worry about it unless you are going to have a loaded stroller that you want to make sure stays dry.

I also follow the 15 day and ten day forecast all the way until time for me to leave. That way I know ahead of time if I'm looking at a fluke of nature - like the time we went and it was so cold we had to buy coats. Even the CMs said, it will be back to 80 next week.

expect a shower around 4pm almost every day, and you'll be prepared :)

of course, actual rain is possible at any time tho.

Ok, I live here and can say that yes, you can not only expect a shower late afternoon everyday but you can expect a T-storm every afternoon. It's not long. Maybe 30 min or so but you can expect it. Usually the weather here is at least 50% chance of rain everyday from June 1st through mid Oct.
It's the perfect time to take a mid day break from the parks or catch an early dinner ressie.

I did a long weekend at Universal the middle of last Sept, and it rained for about a half hour every afternoon. It was a nice respite from the heat! We used that time to get our shopping done. And I got an awesome Harry Potter poncho out of it! :thumbsup2

I had to laugh at this. Last year on opening night of Halloween Horror Nights, we had a monsoon most of the night. It was beautiful until around 6PM when it started raining slowly but by 6:30PM, everything was flooding! I left at 8PM and it continued raining until well after 11PM.

I am not so worried about the rain & thunderstorms - it is the hurricanes that have me concerned :scared1:

I went mid-Sept last year. I arrived late afternoon and was taken on the ME during a heavy downpour. I didn't see rain again for another three days, when I got caught in it in DHS, and then the next night at MNSSHP, where we were trapped in the Jessie/Woody M&G. Those were the only three times I saw rain, but it looked nasty every day and could've started pouring at any time.

We go every September, and it rains almost every afternoon. Ponchos are on my packing list. Do yourself a favor & get the thicker ones, not the 2 for $1 cheapo ones. They're thinner than saran wrap & offer little to no protection.

Thanks for the tip. I was at Target yesterday and they had thick, sturdy ponchos that were actually Cars and Princess themed for $5 so I picked up those for the kids.

September is pretty much considered summer in Florida, near 90 everyday with rain or thunderstorms in the forecast just about everyday.Usually it's like that from June until mid October. The nice months usually run from mid October through April or May with the temperatures starting to heat up in April but not too much rain in April or May,this year however it's been pretty wet in April.

When we went in September, we had a thunderstorm every day late afternoon, early evening that only lasted 1/2 hour to an hour, which worked okay for us because it was usually when we were eating dinner. :cool1:

that must've been the same night we did MNSSHP - started at 6pm and didn't stop. It was horrid! I was soaked through and through.

OP also keep in mind that Sept is still hurricane season so there is still the potential of severe storms spinning of a tropical storm or even hurricane.
