Sept ADRs for Teppan Edo or Tutto Italia?

We just called this morning and the expected date for Teppan Edo to open was pushed up to 9/25. We had 9/25 ADR and was told to make alternate ADR , just in case.

I just called, I had Teppen Edo for 9/8 and it is closed until 9/15 at the earliest. They got the memo yesterday, I got 50's Prime Time, but I'm not happy.

At this rate it will be closed for my December trip as well. (I already have an ADR)

Yep, We had an ADR for 9/6 and called yesterday to find it would be closed! At first they told us nothing was avail except Marakesh and 9 Dragons. I told them that was not acceptible as we allready had a ADR for Marakesh on 9/8 and that I would NOT waste 2 table service credits on 9 Dragons. . I talked to a supervisor and after explaining that we had booked that ADR to watch Illuminations from the balcony and had booked it 180 days in advance she reluctantly gave us an ADR for 3 at Rose and Crown 8pm. She did ask we try to find a 3rd party member . Sheesh, what a pain. If you have an ADR for Japan early Sept, you had better call NOW if you want to get a TS dinner, its pretty booked up. If you are a party of 2, you might "invent" a 3rd so as to give you a better chance at getting an ADR. Not something I'd normally recommend but this is a bit of a special case as folks already had an ADR.

I just got off the phone with Disney Dining. We had a reservation for Sept 11 and she said they got an updated memo today that it will be closed through Oct 31st. So we had to scramble at this point because everything is booked. We ended up for now at Marrakesh. Everyone seems to have conflicting information so I wonder if I shouldn't have cancelled but what is done is done I guess. The CM I spoke to said Tepan was her favorite too and she has reservations for the Candelight Procession so she hoped it would not be delayed further. I'm so bummed because this really is our favorite and such a deal on the dining plan. Oh well...trying new places!

I've been off the boards for 4 days and just saw this! As booked as everything is, I hope I can get a replacement. I better get off the computer and find one.

I had called yesterday to clarify and after reading the above post I called again today and the CM confirmed for me that it is set to reopen 9/15. Now that doesn't mean that they can't extend it again. but at this point that is the date. she said that was in the memo that they got this morning. You have to be careful how you ask as other parts of the Tokyo dining/shopping area were set to be closed until October already. Teppan Edo is to open before everything else.

Just to see I called back a second time today and asked a different cast member and was told the same thing It is through the 15th. He tried to book and said that the earliest he could was 10/31 but that is just because it is booked solid, not because that is when the refurb is through. The memo that he got said the same. Right now it is DEFINITELY through the 15th. It COULD be extended again. He checked my reservations and stated that they were both still active for 9/22 & 9/27. He states it best to just keep calling back and checking once a week or so in case something else happens. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.

I'd make a 2nd ADR, CMs seem to be leaving the Teppan Edo ADRs alone, so if it open you can cancel the other or you'll have to back up in case. Or depending on the day you leave, you might be able to rearrange, but I was reading that they can't make ADRs for it until October 1st.

I called last night and got a LOVELY CM who went over all my ADRs with me, corrected some mistakes, and sent me an email - but she wasn't sure about the whole Teppan Edo opening date. I have an ADR for the 13th, and she suggested that I keep it. I asked if I could make a back up dinner ADR for that night, but she said no, that it would make both cancel out. Then she told me that, even if it was closed, that WDWDining would make sure I had a ressie somewhere. It didn't seem to click with her that I wasn't concerned about going hungry, I was concerned about WHERE I was eating - it's part of the entertainment for me. She started telling me about this wonderful place they just created last year to handle the crowds - that buffet at Tomorrowland Noodly whatever. Oy. So I thanked her - I know she was trying. She was VERY nice.

I understand their frustration, but I'm not going to let this get me down. No, I'm absolutely not going to waste my dining plan credit on Nine Dragons, but if it turns out that Teppan Edo isn't open yet, well, I'll play it by ear.

The problem with my picky family of six......the only other EPCOT resturant they will eat at is LeCellier.....and we know that I can't get a reservation for there now. So I guess we might have to do a counter serve for that day and end up with 2 table serves on another day when we have free time.

When they took your ADR, I'm sure that the projected opening date was still sometime at the end of August. But a few days ago, the projected opening date was evidently pushed back. The CM's are still confused, as you can see by the posts from DISboarders who have called in about this. I would give them a call - you'll probably get somewhat of a run around, until the powers that be decide what they're going to do with all the Teppanyaki ADRS that they're going to have to move.

Who wants to bet that they do something like open a 'special' buffet somewhere, and try to palm that off on us ? Moo . . . .

After reading this thread yesterday and seeing another saying all of Sept would be affected I called. Our ADR is for Oct 1 and the CM said we should keep that but make a back-up too. I was able to get Chefs de France for 6P. My DD13 will enjoy the french food and was better than some of my other choices. I still have my fingers crossed that Teppan-Edo will be open by then.

I too had a Sept. 11 reservation at Teppenaki. I called this morning had to call twice. The first CM kept saying 'they wouldn't give a reservation if it wasn't open'. The second CM knew right away there was a problem but double checked. He said Sept. 15 was scheduled opening date. So I had to find new place to eat. So would suggest that you call soon, ADR's are going quick.

We have ADRs for the 17th and was really looking forward to this dinner. I quess we will keep it but try for something else also. What a bummer!!

You would think that having two popular restaurants at Epcot not taking reservations for the first half of September would be a problem, especially due to the free dining plan! I keep calling hoping they will start taking reservations for the new Italian place, but the CMs are not even saying that the Italian place will be open!

I have an ADR for Teppan Edo for 8/21 and I called yesterday and had them check my reservation and they said the reservation had not been cancelled. She said that it wasn't scheduled to open until 9/15, but my reservation still stands. I called back and made a back up reservation because they seem as confused as I am

The date currently for opening is the 15th, but no reservations are being taken until the end of October at this time.

So I am not sure if they are anticipating it taking longer or not.
