Sept 9th 2010 - Wonder 3 Night Cruise

We got our cruise documents in yesterday. Got most of the FE gifts done last weekend, Finalized the Pirate night shirt DISign yesterday morning, decided on the boarding shirt DISign last night (Thankfully that one is already made) and finished ordering all the needed shirts and colors. Now it is the waiting game for the delivery.

Chris you were right we do work very well together on shirt disigns. The more i look at the Pirate Cruise Line shirt (it is still in the office) the more i love it.

Well here is to one less day until vacation.

We are doing a whirlwind vacation..driving down to Fl starting on the 28th. Staying at the campground from the 29th-1st, Then Disney's Vero Beach resort 1st-4th, then back to WDW from the 4th-9th at AKV and then hopping onto the cruise. Packing is a bit of a challenge this trip.

Okay so Mike has been busy making the FE gifts, but he won't be doing any packing ever. I will be doing the packing the fifth. We will be heading to Saratoga Springs on the 6th. I have to make sure I bring the correct size clothes for him though last trip i packed shorts that were a size too small. Luckily it was a short trip and there two pairs that fit.

Well like my wonderful DW stated I do not pack. But I am the crafty person in the family (I can make just about anything that Rose or even Chris can come up with). I am posting pictures of how each of our FE gifts was made in the Homemade FE thread as soon as we get home. The How to for the Home Depot heads will be posted later today. I guess I can post our shirt disign (the one for Pirate night) as well (If Mr. Chris says it ok to do so).

Wow less than a month to go, only 6 more super secret homemade FE gifts to make. 4 re-do gifts to screen, and 25 more shirts to screen print. And then there are the magnets that still need to be done. So maybe I am not as far ahead as I thought i was.

Now off to the dance studio to find out what needs to be built today and pick up the recital DVD.

Got Mickey Mail today. Our cruise docs came!

OK there was some discussion on the colorful Mickey heads on our door(s). so while making the next round we took photos to show everyone the best way (in our opinion) to make your magnets.

Step 1: Obtain your paint samples from your local Home Depot. Please do not empty the store out. They are more than happy to let you take a good amount, but remember they are in business and you have to respect that.

Step 2: Place your Home Depot Mickey shaped paint samples into a suitable container face up

Step 3: Pour enough water on the card to soak the paper they come attached to

Step 4: After a couple of minutes flip the paint samples over

Step 5: When the paper backing becomes translucent, you are ready to peal the sample off.

Step 6: Place the sample under something to completely dry (the sample will start to roll if left to dry without somethig on it.

Step 7: Laminate your sample to give it the longevity to survive travel and multiple cruises.

Step 8: Use self stick magnet on the back to affix your new decoration to your door.

Well Chris (idrivealumina) said it was ok to release our Pirate night attire to the group.

I have a Yudu machine (a personal screen printing machine from the makers of the Cricket). My DW came up with the idea for a shirt DISign, Chris made the idea into a computer file and I made the screen to make out shirts. The pictures that will follow are a few of the steps that went into the making of our shirts. The final shirt pictures i will post tomorrow after i screen a few more so i can show both the male and female styles.

So after much deliberation...about 2 minutes...
I'M GOING ANYWAY!

I've done many solo vacations, but never a Cruise.

This will be my first Disney Cruise also.

Will be at Old Key West for 5 days before we set sail on the 9th.

I'm in my early 50's and just retired due to health reasons, so I'm not cancelling this trip...LIFE IS TOO SHORT!

idrivealumina and his entire clan (3 staterooms worth) and our family will be at the world the week before the cruise as well. Look for the adult guy(s) (not sure how much they will wear theirs) in lime green hardhats with big 'ol Mickey ears on them. I would say stop by our stateroom and say hi but we do not hang out in our rooms too much. So i will leave it to say hi as you wonder the ship or at the shows.

Matching T-shirts are alot of fun. Just wait until you have large family outing when you get 10+ people in matching shirts. It is a blast. speaking of shirts i need to finish the red collared ones so idrivealumina stops asking for pictures (I love you chris).

I would not necessarily call our stuff treasures, but 90% of it is homemade so I hope everyone enjoys their gifts for many months to come.
