Hey guys...Anyone else planning on a "Labor Day Getaway" for Sept 5, 2010? DH and I have booked and can't wait...It'll be our 4th Disney cruise (by the time we sail...doing B2B cruises Oct '09) and we are so excited!!

Anyhoo...we are planning on participating in the FE exchange if anyone is interested and would be up for a cruise meet...I know it's early to start thinking about this, but I like to plan!

Anyway...hope someone will join us here on the thread soon!!

I'm in the early planning stages of a cruise/WDW solo trip, and if I do it, I'll be on this cruise! hope to see you guys there!:thumbsup2

Awesome!! Hope you join us! Would you be doing WDW before or after the cruise? Have you been on a Disney cruise before? We are very exicted and can't wait!

Actually, I've never done a cruise before! I am still just putting ideas together for this, but I'll probably do WDW after the cruise. I'm planning on being away for 2 weeks total, and since the 4 night cruises begin on Sunday, it's easier to make the 2 weeks out of it by doing the parks afterwards than before (otherwise I'd be coming home midweek).

But trying to put all my plans together is getting me soooo excited!

We'll be there!!! My son and future dil will be getting married on this cruise. It will be on Nassau day on Deck 7, so we're already doing lots of planning. We'll probably end up with about 15-20 in our party. Right now we're at 10 and that't just our side. Her family has to book their cruises yet.
We're doing the same thing with going to the parks afterward. We'll be staying in the cabins at Fort Wilderness for the remainder of the 2 weeks. I haven't booked that because I'm waiting to see if they do the free dining again. That would save lotsssss of money.

Yeah, I'm doing the exact same thing. I'll be staying at a value resort, but I'm holding out for free dining.

That's awesome that you will have a celebration while on board. The wedding photos will be beautiful...so many photo ops! Good luck with all of your planning and we'll see you soon!

My wife (Mary) and I will be taking our first cruise with this trip, and celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We'll most likely be spending a few days at Saratoga Springs before hand, and may spend a few days at the parks afterword.

We're really looking forward to the trip!

Welcome to the "Labor Day Getway"!! That's awesome that you are celebrating 30 years. This will be a great way to celebrate!!

Just wanted to bump our board. don't want it to get taken off because no one is talking. We're hoping to hear more from the wedding planners this week. It's hard waiting, my son is going crazy. He wants to start planning. We do have his fiance's dress, and the dress for the maid of honor is picked out. But we really haven't done anything more.
Hopefully more people will join us here as time goes on. Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there!!!:)

Does Disney help with the planning at all? Do you have to get a minister, or does the ships captain do the ceremony? Will Disney be doing the photographs, or will you have a photographer? :bride::groom: Don't mean to bombard you with questions, I was just curious about how it works on a cruise. Good luck with your continued planning!! :)

Disney helps with alot of it. They provide the officiant, which in our case will either be the captain of first officer. We are going to use the Disney photographer. They usually do a good job. Disney also provides the brides bouquet and the grooms boutenniere. They do the decorating, or at least most of. My kids ceremony will be on the secret balcony on deck 7. They also provide the cake and the champagne, the pianist and an onboard coordinator. Not too bad at all for the price.

Happy July 4th to the 2010 Labor Day Getaway gang!

Nothing special planned for us here in NJ - our township had its fireworks extravaganza last week! Just enjoying a rare weekend off.

Hope all is well with everyone!! Hope everyone had a great 4th! We didn't do much either...just grilled out.

Can't wait until the "Labor Day Getaway"!!!

Just bumping the board. One more month and we should get the packet for the wedding. Then we can really start the planning. Yay:cool1::banana:

Just paid off the balance of our cruise bill! :cool1:

Now we just have to wait another 400 days. . . . popcorn::

Wow!! You've already paid off the balance? That's great...like you said now it's just the waiting! Hope everyone is doing well...can't wait until the cruise!

How is the wedding planning going dodle? Did you get the packet to get started? I know it seems really far away, but it will be here before you know it!!

No, we haven't gotten the packet yet. We can't "officially" book the wedding until 12 months out. We are on the books, and we have the time slot, they just can't add it until September. Then we'll get the kit. My son is not so good at waiting patiently.:happytv:

I don't think I could wait patiently either...it seems so far away, but it will be here before you guys know it. Keep us updated on plans...can't wait to hear how it's going!!
