Although our cruise was short, I still wanted to thank DCL for providing excellent service and entertainment during very trying times. I truly feel sorry for other guests who had difficult times.
Delta Airlines also provided excellent customer service by changing my tickets at least 5 times over the Labor Day weekend
at no additional cost. My $ 140 roundtrip ticket from Dayton thru Atlanta to Orlando wound up with direct flight from Cincinnati to Miami on Tuesday morning to catch the boat and direct from Orlando to Cincinnati on Saturday morning.
We were met by DCL rep at Miami airport with a bus to take us to Port Everglades even though the night before DCL said no transportation would be available and we would have to rent a car or take a cab for two families (party of 8). No, we did not purchase Disney transfers with our cruise package.
DCL upgraded us from a cat 8 to a cat. 6 but left the other family behind. After offering to go back to our original room, the very kind DCL rep working in a crowded, undecorated warehouse without computers was able to move both families to cat. 6 in side-by-side cabins.
I did see many guests losing their nerves in the long check-in line especially when the keys we were given would not open up the cabins.
Thanks to Town Car Limo (www.towncarlimos.com) for meeting us Saturday morning in a surprise stretch limo to take all 8 of us home. We have used this company for ten years to take us from Orlando airport to DisneyWorld. After telling Town Car that we could not use them on Tuesday but to pick us up in a van on Saturday. The owner, Jim called me back and tried to talk me out of going on the cruise. He was truly concerned about our safety and our vacation with the condition of Florida and the weather.
Looking forward to our fourth Disney Cruise next year.
