I've been reading all the recent posts and just want to get in my 2 cents.
First I want to thank Mark, Mary, & Kay for being so wonderfull for answering the few questions my family has had.
The next thing is currently we are kind of lurking but this will be our first cruise and we only just recently found the DIS boards.
Third is we have our first Cub Scout overnight camp coming up in 2 1/2 weeks and we are in camp mode right now and once that is done we will be full throttle in Cruise mode.
With everything we have going on I sometimes i can't keep up with reading the posts never mind writing one.
I NEED A VACATION !!!!! :earsgirl:
Disney take me away!!! :rotfl2:
Stacy

Stacy,

I was LOL when I read about Cub Scout overnight camp. DS just switched over to boy scouts, and I can't say I really miss the camping that much! ;) All I can say is that as much as the men may have laughed, my aerobed made camping a much nicer experience for all involved!!

I can completely understand the idea of life getting in the way of planning for your fun. I still have a couple of rooms left to finish unpacking from our move a few weeks ago. I think dh is beginning to catch on to the fact that it might not REALLY be taking this long to "unpack the computer room" :earseek:

Just wanted to say that even though we don't post often, we read all of the posts & really enjoy them!! :flower:

Thank you, Mark, for all of your Key West tips. We have never been there & are very excited about the whole cruise but especially Key West. Think we are going to do the trolley - will book on our own. :cool1:

Lisa & Mike :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I want to know more about the electric cars in Key West. :moped: I was in Key West when I cruised on Carnival two years ago. The people we travelled with were seasoned cruisers and they told us to book the tour on our own (we paid at the booth right in Mallory Square), rather than through the cruise line and it was trerrific advice (as was Mark's). Since we've done the tour, I wanted to focus on just doing a more indepth look at The Harry S. Truman Little White House, Hemmingway's Home ~ I'm a librarian so it would be wrong if I didn't go :) and the Southermost Point (which we did not get out of the trolley for last time)

I also wanted to eat at Jimmy Buffet's again and shop at the Coach outlet AGAIN : ) .... that and the above said, would the electric car be good? Or should we walk (I know the island is small, I just don't know if the heat will get the better of us?!?!?) Suggestions would be welcomed.

Stephanie

I just logged on to DCL to book the Spa and Palo (I'm a CC member & booked REAS) and NO LUCK - uggghhhh. I guess I'll try again at 9:00AM : (

Bompy213 -

Glad to see I'm not the only one trying ASAP... When I got up at 2:30 AM to let the dogs out, I logged in and tried.... Now it's 5:11 and I'm clearing out my cookies and logging in from another machine "just in case".... pathetic!

But, of course, I'm too excited to go back to sleep, anyway. :rotfl:

bbowers .... the wait is killing me. I'm also waiting on pins and needles to see if NYC gets the 2012 olympics :cheer2:

>I guess we won't be able to book until 9?

good morning , guys. Me too,,,, Can't get ressies. It won't take it.
Another snafu. I'm betting that DCL doesn't even realize that DVC has said we can make ressies. The cast members were not aware of it the other day. They wanted to know how I knew about that information. I said it was on the DVC web site for members. They were in the dark.
Bill

Have to admit I got all happy at 2:30 AM when I logged in because when I clicked on My Disney Cruise it said the system was down, so I figured they were loading the stuff then. Guess not. :guilty:

Good morning everyone! Good luck with everyone trying to get reservations this morning!

Stephanie - just heard about New York being eliminated. Sorry they didn't win.
As for the electric cars - I think they would help you get around. Since we've never taken them before not sure how parking is around the different sights.

In December we walked from the ship down to the Southernmost Point to go to a vow renewal being held nearby. It wasn't a bad walk as long as you kept a nice steady pace. I know we walked past Hemingway's House, up to the Light House, over the Butterfly Conservatory and then over to the Southernmost Point. When the ceremony was over we walked back up Duval.

Where is the Coach outlet? Just may want to check that out for myself. :)

Cheryl - great pictures. Looked like a fun time.

Are the pins shown all the DVC pins that have been available? Do you have them all? We have some but not nearly that many!

Mary, Coach is at 517 Duval Street. Margaritaville is located at 500 Duval. We actually just happened upon Coach when waiting for our table at Jimmy's. I frequent the Coach outlet at Woodbury Commons (NY) and the prices were decent in comparison. Good luck if you go ~ I refuse to come home w/o a purchase from there : )

Booking update - it's still not open. I can't wait much longer :Pinkbounc

Hmmmm, I'm thinking a trip to Margaritaville is going to be on our list of stops. ;) Thanks. :flower:

I like numbers, :teacher: so thank you for the reply count!

I read every day, don't have too much to say, but we are very much looking forward to the cruise. DH has given serious thoughts to dressing up as a pirate!!! I'm more the accessory type myself. We wouldn't know about such things without this thread. I enjoyed the group pictures showing all types of pirates.

Tom and I check out the photo album.

We have a DVC trip coming up barely before the MC, and we'll be with distant relatives whom we usually see just once a year, but they are friends as well as relatives. Like "good" DVCers we asked them a year ago and booked 11 months out. That was going to be our "big summer vacation." Well, then news of MC came out, and now we have 2 "biggies." For now, I'm concentrating on that first, I don't want to wish my life away!

Looking forward to meeting you all!!

I'm on hold with DCL... they don't know what's happening with the lack of online booking this am for our Member Cruise.

Anyone trying Member Services at DVC?

Ok, after 8 minutes she came back and asked for my ressie number and DOB (DCL). We'll see what happens.

Now she's telling me the info will be online sometime after 9am.

Stephanie,

I'm sure the board software might have a log of how much time a poster is logged in but don't think it is available to the general public.

Yes it does. I am not sure how long this information is maintain. If you want this information, Alex is your best bet. ALthough I doubt he will give it out without the posters permission.

Deb -

Thanks for getting that info. I managed to fall back asleep finally and when I woke up, saw that it was after 7 (after 8 Eastern). Started to lay back down, then suddenly remembered and BOLTED from bed.

For nothing, still... *sigh*
