Sept 4-8 2005 Wonder S.S. Member Cruise! Part 3

I must admit it is me. While I loved everything we got I don't have the need nor have the room for more than one of things. I kept one set of everything for myself and my memories are all in tack cause they are in my heart not in material things. I did keep the second Mickey box cause they are so awesome and I can use them for storage. I was not able to go on the first member cruise and was luckey enough to find someone who was selling some of the items they recieved for my DVC collection so I figured why not do the same for someone else. I started the auction out at a price I thought to be very fair and am quite suprised and happy to see they price go to what it has. We did not particapate in the group photo so it has no real meaning to me so why not let someone else decide if they want it or not. I had a wonderful time on the cruise and thought it would be nice to share the goodies with someone who was unable to attend.

Brenda - You don't have to feel bad about selling your stuff. Heck, you paid for it, probably in the cost of the cruise. I can totally understand, because I don't need 4 of everything that we got on the cruise. Some of the stuff, I'm keeping all 4. Some I'm keeping 2, and some I just don't know what to do with. I'm in the process of trying to declutter my house, because I tend to hold on to EVERYTHING. So, this just adds to the stuff in the house.

Sure, I could hold on to some of the stuff to give to the girls when they are older, but heck, by the time that happens, they won't remember that we got 4 of everything and I only kept 1 set. I still don't know what I'm going to do with the extra stuff, but don't feel bad about selling your stuff. You have every right to do so.

Fireplug - nice pictures of you both! Your costumes on Pirate Night were great - it sure was nice to share dinner with all of you - what a fun table we had!!! Hope to see you again!

I agree with Amy. I'm not sure what we are going to do with our second set of things. The whole house is pretty Disney but the house is also very small. They are yours to do with as you want. Just think - anything you get can go into your next cruise fund!

Brenda, I hope you didn't think I thought it was bad about selling the stuff on ebay. I just thought it was funny that you were selling EVERYTHING! Heck, you probably bought the stuff from the first member cruise from me!! :rotfl2: I'm the first one to admit that I'll be selling some of the stuff we got too, we really don't need 4 alarm clocks! :rotfl2: But I defintely agree with listing it for a fair price, because there are people out there that just start out listing for top dollar.

I'm thinking about a future cruise fund too! ;) I know I can make at least enough to support my newfound habit of Konk Koolers. :teeth:

While we loved the gifts and hope they continue, there are some things we really don't need multiples of. The kids love the alarm clocks but more of a trinket than a useful thing. I know it's been suggested that the kids receive different gifts on future cruises, but the old saying of you can't please everyone is going to make that tough. For us, Cameron is so different in what is cool to him than Walker. As a parent, I'm sure it would cause more than one squabble with the boys if they were "age appropriate". Besides, the upside is that what we really like, we now have 4 of. :teeth:

I loved the gifts and am very thankful to have received them. I'm thankful for everything done to make this cruise special. :cheer2:

Next cruise---no gifts for Cindy. All she wants is a konk kooler left on her pillow every night! :rotfl2:

I am in total agreement!!! There are really only a couple of things that I don't need in multiples. But, I love that we got 4 towels, 4 Mickey ears, 4 boxes (I LOVE the boxes), 4 calendars (did you notice that there is NO year, so that can be used for any year) & 4 sketch pads (we can always use more notepads). As for the alarm clocks, we have a Mickey bathroom, so one will go in there. Emily LOVES those types of clocks, so she will get one. Not sure what to do with the other 2, they might become Christmas gifts to other family members that LOVE Disney too!

Hey, I just realized that we missed Cruise Chat tonight!!! We could have chatted together!! I guess it's just as easy here, though!

I can say the 4 towels were not enough for us! We LOVE Disney Towels for some strange reason. We have the Castaway Club towel and that sucker goes everywhere with us. I was so happy to see the DVC Towels of the same type.

And I've already set aside one of the totebags full of "one of each" gifts that we got (except the towel--NO ONE gets my towel!) for a good friend of mine who is also a DVC member. They are coming over tomorrow with their DD to play with my DDs and I'm going to surprise them! They are gonna freak out when they see the litho!!

Does it make you even more sorry you didn't get one?

You're such a nice DVC friend!! Unfortunately, except for my DIS friends, I don't know any other DVCers. We have lots of friends that like our DVC, but they haven't made the jump yet (they just don't know what they are missing).

I agree about the towels. We even bought one of the double-size towels on Castaway!!

Yes---but I have a smootie maker here and I've already invited Stacy over for a konk kooler party! Bet you guys are all jealous you don't live in Albany now! :rotfl2:

Oh--and that smootie maker has NEVER made a non-alcoholic smoothie! :rotfl2:

We're home. Too tired to write much. And definitely too tired to catch up!! Had a GREAT time!!!

Speaking of Stacy---yoo hoo :rolleyes1 We went to Fridays for dinner tonight and as I was pulling into the parking lot I said, we should have called Stacy!! But the kind young man quickly brought me one of those GIANT ultimate margaritas....and I forgot all about you! :rotfl2:

I buy beach towels at the Disney Store but the towels we got seem thicker and heavier than those. I love the quality of the Disney Store character towels and if these hold us even 1/2 as well, they will soon become favorites.

And, it might be a little easier to get Cameron to buy in on using them. Somehow Buzz Lightyear and Power Ranger towels are not his first choice when going swimming. ;) The princess towels definately do him in. :teeth:

I thought about chat but I didn't get home from until after 9. My sister and I took my Mom to a wake for one of our cousins. I thought for certain you would all be there. Maybe Sunday!!

You forget, I know how to get to Albany. :teeth:

It's getting off the highway we have a problem with. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh no--these are WAY better than TDS towels. In fact, once you use these, you'll turn your nose up at the other towels! :rotfl2: I'm sad b/c our TDS closed for renovation like 3 months ago and isn't open yet....how long can it possibly take?? I need my Disney fix!! Don't they know that??

Nope, I remembered! ;) But since I live a little ways off the highway, and you can't say the word "Schenectady". You'll never find me! :rotfl2:

Welcome back to reality, Karen.

I hope you had fun for the rest of your WDW days. Did the weather hold out for you all or did you have that dark cloud hanging around. :umbrella:
