Now, I would have been happy if someone was passing out creme brulees as we boarded the bus. Maybe I'll email DCL and recommend that!

Btw, I'm only on pg 806 in my attempt to catch up...
I was wondering if there was any stink from the 9/8 3 day cruisers about having to go to Port Everglades. Were they good with it or were they whining?

Diana,

I think that was awful that you did not recieve a snack like every one else did and his talking on his cell phone was wrong. I don't complain alot but I would talk to Disney on this. You have two small children and a 4 hour bus ride. You deseve the Disney treatment even if he like's a clean bus. I with you we could have done without the 1/2 hr stop.

btw, I wasn't that hungry either, but the fresh fruit sure tasted good. I hadn't had a banana all cruise long....why would I when I could eat all of the rich tasty stuff instead? But a banana was just pure snackin' simplicity! ;)

Well Emma would have enjoyed the banana, she's into fresh fruit apparently. I swear that child isn't mine! We were at Chef Mickeys with Amy and family and I took her to the ice cream/dessert display and all the crazy kid wants is an apple?? :confused3 And I'm making this elaborate ice cream sundae for the 2 year old and she proceeds to drop to the floor and scream, kick and cry APPLE APPLE APPLE....ok, alien child....here's an apple....I'm eating the ice cream!! :rotfl2:

And we were in a "real" DCL bus and Dan was a DCL driver, his name was on the sign at the head of the bus. Dan Smith......I don't think I'll ever forget the name.....because "Dan likes a clean bus".....it's my favorite phrase of the entire vacation for some weird reason!:confused3

Funny how those things stick, huh?

I have no idea what our driver's name was. Just know he was tired and that, thankfully he got to PC without incident! :) I DO know that he did NOT have a clean bus at the end. There was trash everywhere. On seats, on the floor, everywhere! He did have one small trash bag at the front of the bus but it was stuffed to bulging!

See Dan's bus was definitely clean!! :rotfl2: Although between Emma and Julia, our windows definitely needed some Windex! :scared:

Here's why I'm hesitant to complain.....First of all, I'm typically not a "complainer" and I think complaining about a snack is stupid. So what, I didn't get a snack....I'm far from starving to death. DVC and DCL did a phenomenal job in a crappy situation with the whole re-route through Port Everglades....me whining about my snack seems like a tiny grain of sand in the hourglass. I was actually alot more freaked out about the dude chatting it up on the cell phone really, but like I said.....it's not illegal in Florida so why shouldn't he chat while driving my precious children in a God knows how many thousand pound bus 70 mph down a highway for 4 hours?? :rotfl2: But like I said, it's really not DCL or DVC's fault "Dan likes a clean bus". What would have been funny is if Walker (who was sitting behind me, not feeling to well) would have messed up Dan's bus!! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

TZ moment. We landed DURING that storm and we got stuck in traffic on the turnpike too!! Trying to get to Mike's mom's house...finally we pulled off and had dinner at a rest stop and by the time we were done the traffic had cleared.

If it was the plaza closer to Orlando we stopped there once we got past the accident area.... do de doo doo do de doo doo... TZ Indeed! Something was telling me to go check the food court but we were really interested in just getting to BWV and skipped it.

Kind of wierd how the busses had different routines. We did not have a DCL bus. Just a plain white one. We did have snacks waiting. I didn't realize we would and when I first got on the bus my thought was "wow how did those people get off the ship with a banana?"

We actually got the front two seats so had a nice view of what was going on. Our driver did not have a video to put in, but luckily he had good taste in music. Don't know if they could hear it all through the bus. Gail? You guys were in back did you hear the music.

We had one rest stop but it was at a regular rest area and only for 10 minutes. Everyone got back in time and we were on the road.

Karen I know wha tyou mean about loadking up the car. Luckily we only had the 4 cases. Mark ran to the car (we were in the close lot and the car was only 2 in) and came back with the umbrella. Then he took one case to the car while I waited with the others. He then took the other large one while I took the two small ones.

Good morning everyone! We had a good time at Disney yesterday.

Our bus was a non-DCL, but we did have a movie (101 Dalmatians), which kept Emily happy. We did have a snack too. We didn't eat much of it on the bus, but Emily had some water. We didn't stop at all. We went straight through and it took us almost exactly 3 hours to get to PC.

Glad to hear you had such a great time.

We watched 101 Dalmatians too! And then Free Willy, which was not exactly the movie of my choice. See we didn't even get water! :rotfl: And by the time we got dropped off at WL we had logged 5 hours on our bus. I always seem to be jealous of you, Amy! :rotfl2:

Good Morning!!

We arrived home last Sunday afternoon - made very good time driving, had left WDW on Saturday & stayed in Chat,TN Sat night. I have been working long hrs all week & this is the first chance I have had to post.

The cruise was AWESOME!! I can not thank everyone enough for all of the goodies that we found outside of our door. The scrapbooking class was GREAT!! Thanks again, Linda!! It was so nice to meet everyone!! I also cannot believe the amt of stuff we rec'd on the cruise - we are in the process of displaying it.

We were on the same DCL bus, from Port Everglades, as Karen & I too thought it was kind of odd that they would call him at 2 a.m. & thought should he really be driving, as he is probably exhausted.

While we were on the cruise, we did buy more points - 200. I am very excited about that especially since our use year is Oct - we get those 200 points now & then 200 more in Oct. We are going to be taking the Disneyland Trip - for those of you who don't know - you get hotel & park passes for 5 days/4nights. The catch is that we have to use the 200 points we got now by 9/30/06 & take the Disneyland trip by 9/30/06. I never thought I would say this but we have too many vacations next year. My step-son is graduating from college next Jun - he lives in Columbus, OH. We will be there for at least a few days to help him move, as he now lives in student housing. I just didn't know how we were going to do everything & do the member cruise, too - which I really want to do. So, we made a decision to not do the member cruise. Instead, we are hoping to book the May 2006 Double Scoop Cruise - we just have to wait until our new points are in the system & we will be calling to book it. For us, that does the trick of using our 200 points & going on a cruise - which we love to do. We will also be going to Cal - my first time, as well as Columbus. It will be a busy year.

Yes we could hear the music in the back even over the baby that cried and whined 3/4 of the whole way back to the port. She was so over tired and nothing the parents did helped her out. They seemed just as frazzled. John played peek a boo with her for a bit and she then fell asleep. Not sure if John just scared her or playing peek a boo with this odd man was just enough to get her settled down!

I am so impressed with the way things were handled with the change of port, but of course staying out to sea for another day until they opened the port would have been fine too!

Oh and since Mary (iluvdisney) is back home, after I meet up with her to retrieve all the stuff her and John brought home for us - we will get to relive our trip all over again.

I guess we were lucky in the front as we really didn't hear it. I assume it was the family that took over the whole back of the bus. It looked like they had it set up pretty sweet back there when I went to use the bathroom (I didn't know we were going to stop).

I'm right outside of Columbus. Let me know when you're coming into town!!

May 2006 Double Scoop is a GREAT idea!! I'll be there. So will Mary and Mark. :)

Lisa - we'd be thrilled to have you and Mike join the double scoop group. Amy & Chris are coming as well. Think of how many cruisers you'll already know!

Click the link in my signature below to read all about what we have planned. It is a great group and we aren't going over the top with planning, but plan on having fun!

I was thinking the same thing about the fruit when we got on our bus.
We had a white American bus. We also had a movie, The Rescuers, and we did make like a 20 minute stop.
We split up our group though.
My mom & I took a couple of carry-on pieces and took a bus to PC to pick up the car while my husband, father, & son took the big luggage and took a bus to BWV. They got in about 30 minutes before us and had the laundry started by the time my Mom & I got to the resort.
It worked out like a charm! :earboy2:

Thanks Mary! I will be more excited when we actually book it. I am looking forward to it & knew that several DIS'ers from this cruise would be on that cruise. That is one of the reasons we chose it. I will be reading all about it.

Karen, we will see you on this cruise before we are in Columbus. He graduates from DeVry the end of June 2006.

Yeah, Chris booked us on the last night, while I was packing!! We couldn't decide what to do, so we decided to book where we knew people sailing. Hopefully this time, Madison won't get sick. :rotfl2:

My Ohio geography is a little off (ok, nonexistent) but yet another TZ moment.....DH is from Ohio near Columbus, originally from Marion, and his parents currently live in Mansfield and his brother in Bucyrus. Any of these places sound familiar? All I know is that we go there a little more often than I'd like to and I kick and scream the entire 8 hours in the car! :rotfl: But we get to go to the Zoo! :teeth:
