Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

Hi Danny, :wave2:
I haven't seen Ice Age the Meltdown :furious: either and my mom said "That we were going to see Ice Age. :cold: Sorry your sick. I might see it
next week.
O one more thing do you ride waves on a boggie board and do you have
one? Do you like Rock and roll? :rockband:

Hi All. Just checking in and haven't posted here for a while. Getting cabin fever here, but weather is finally turning spring-like with a ton of rain :confused3. DD and I just watched the Disney Cruise DVD for about the 6th time and probably will 6 more times until September. :rolleyes1.

We are counting the days!!!!!!!!!

Hi All,

I'm having trouble trying to dig up good info on the various beaches during the cruise. Anybody got any good info on the beaches?

Still waiting for Jet Blue to release the schedule for after Sept 6th. Gosh I wish I could book my airfare. :badpc:

What's everyone else doing for airfare? Also, how expensive have your flights been?

Has anybody thought yet about door signs?

We should also get a list together of everyone that's going.

Lot's more questions coming...

Night all,

David

My Father has been out of the Rehab since Friday, It's been a not pleasent experience trying to get home care for him. Started looking and calling last Monday. Need coverage 7-9 am and 4-8 pm. The night is now done, seems nobody wants to get up early.

Sorry to do this but 11 days and I'm out of here. We are so looking forward to this. My DW's Father is in the Hosp. now. I guess when the parents get into the late 80's everything starts to go. :guilty:

Good morning everyone!
No, mcentee, I do not live at WDW! LOL! I WISH!! :p
I am a DVC member and have been blessed to go often....I love WDW and DCL and cannot wait to go again...my last cruise was in October 2004, this one is way overdue! I cannot wait...so much fun! :woohoo:

We are currently living in Myrtle Beach, SC, but are now moving to Holly Springs, NC. We are very excited about the move...but not looking forward to the whole "pack and unpack thing" :sad2:

At least we have the cruise to look forward to! :boat:

Bumping this up!

joksten2000- sorry to hear about all that....it is so hard when parents/grandparents/etc get older and things just seem to never get better.....
Both my parents are ill, and pretty young I think (in their 50's) and I live about a 15hr drive away...so it gets hard sometimes. Keep the faith and enjoy your time away!!!

Just think everyone...only 5 mths left till we cruise!! TGFC!!!! (thank god for cruises :thumbsup2 )

I'm sorry I have been away from our thread. I guess it's just a defense mechanism because time goooes eeeever soooo slooowly.... :snail: :charac2:

I am so glad to see so many new members here to cruise with on Sept 30! As we begin April, the thought of the cruise starts getting more real.

IT'S TIME TO GET EXCITED!!! party: :rockband: :jumping1:

There will be three, at our party, My wife, our DD who will be 9 in June, and of course ME! :love1:

The Western Caribbean cruise ,in Sept last year, was our first cruise ever. I must tell everyone who is doing the DC for the first time that you guys are in for very serious fun! It is so great! It's such an amazing time! Everything is just so perfect!
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT IS SNOWING HERE IN NEW YORK! RIGHT NOW...
Spring: Where are thee?? :flower3:

Anyhow, I'm sorry I'm making up for my lack of posting through these months.
As far as tours in St. Thomas, I was advised by my travel agent to take this one, She says she paid $20.00 and have the best time: (Sorry I can't post websites since I need a certain amount of postings) Try this: "godfreytoursvi then dot then com"

I'm not that crazy about land excursions... Why leave the Magic? :worship:
It was great swimming with the stingrays in Cayman, and Cozumel was great for shopping... (Try Colombian Emeralds! I bought a ring to my wife there that she absolutely loved!), but a day away from the ship... :guilty: snif

Talk to you soon!

Alfredo

PS: Who wants to hear the horn,:tink: ta ta ta ta ta ta taaaaaaaa!!
I can send it to you in an audio file... (Only if you promise not to cry...:sad1: )
Just send me your email address.
Ahoy!:mickeyjum

Only 5 months, 3 weeks and 4 days until our cruise!! I am getting so psyched!! :jumping1: I haven't really bought anything for our cruise yet, but I think I'll start looking at all the sales. Like Didi, I dread buying a bathing suit, much less having to buy 2!!

I bought our airfare -- $359 per person (ouch!) :scared: But, since we are flying from the West Coast I didn't have too much to work with :sad2:

I'm still thinking about Ron Jon's for pre-cruise stay, but I need to talk to DH to see if he wants to stay there or somewhere else in Cocoa Beach. He probably won't mind, but I like to stay on his good side and get his input. Then I'll go ahead and do whatever I want anyway! :lmao: :duck:

I've started looking into door signs -- mine will be on the less creative side. I don't really have the software to work with, so mine will probably be in Word format. But, I do have my Home Depot paint chips to play around with! :rolleyes1

Didi - have you guys been to Orient Beach before? We love the beach, but we haven't boogie boarded before. We live on the water, but we are in Puget Sound, so we really don't get any waves. I think we have decided that we aren't going to do any DCL excursions, just get off the boat and wander around on our own. I know that DH and DS want to rent jet skis and heard they can do that at Great Bay Beach (St. Marteen, right?). We also want to do some stuff at Castaway Cay, like stingrays and parasailing (not sure if DH can get me up there or not). Every time I think of parasailing I remember America's Funniest Videos and that woman that was dragged along the beach trying to get lift off. :lmao: Makes me crack up every time. I don't want to be that woman...

Ok folks, I'm just rambling on here. So, have a great day and I'll catch up with y'all later.

Angela

:wave2: Hello, everyone! This is my first post on this thread, haven't had time to read it all but would love to get familiar with folks before the cruise.

DH and I have done 2 4-night Wonder cruises but this will be our first 7-night and first one with the kids along. I have 2 boys who are 5 and 3, and they're already so excited about the cruise. I just got the planning DVD and they've watched it over and over. Mommy and daddy are pretty excited, too :goodvibes

Kim

Hey Kim
Glad you are here and joining us. We are also cruising for the first time with the boys. They are 4, 8, 11. Lots of neat people going with us, and lots of other kids. Talk to you later
Kim

Oh My, I go away for a week and there are some newbies already. Hello to all the newbies :wave2: and hello to all. :wave2: Okay, :surfweb: here I am drinking the java and reading up on the posts. Since we have two Kims' and I get confused very easily :rolleyes1 :teeth: we have to somehow come up with code names for the both of you (aka cool Kim 1 and cool Kim 2 :smooth: ).

Joksten2000, so sorry about your parents and what you are going through right now. This week we are closing on my DH's parents home. The past five years we have gone through the aging process of his parents and their declining health. Every year we went to Disney one or the other was in the hospital. The year with hurricane Jean, DH's mom almost passed away prior to our trip and we almost cancelled it. Last year while we were on the cruise, DH's dad passed on. It's been a rough time and we are so looking forward to this trip. We will be praying for your family. :grouphug:

Angela, I picked up two bathing suits last weekend and I'm praying that I lose some weight so the rolls don't look to pronouced!! :lmao: So you're kissing up to the DH puckerup: my DH just goes along for the ride. I have trained him well, :rolleyes1 ;) I don't even ask for his input because he just gives me the yes dear, you are always right dear..... :rotfl2: I'll have to keep him away from page 17!!!!!

Hi Alfredo, smart man to buy your DW jewels!!!! :woohoo: You best start chatting with my husband. :chat: Did you enjoy the snow on Wednesday, we had some awesome snow squalls. I'm so ready for this cruse... :cool1: :sunny:

WE ARE CLOSER TO THE CRUISE!!!!!!! :woohoo: :jumping1: party: :rockband: :dancer: :yay: :yay:

Gotta run, I have an hair appointment. :moped:

Talk to you all later.

I wonder who make the saying "The Golden Years" Golden for who? The Doctors & Hospitals I guess. I do feel better. I have people coming seven days a week 7-9 am and 4-8 pm. He does seem to being doing fine.

6 DAYS :cool1:

Good Morning,

I do believe you now only have 5 days to go for some welcomed time off. :) You are so right about the golden years, my in laws did not call it that at all. :sad1: We had the same set up of visiting nurses and helpers that came in to do chores. They didn't want to move out of their home. Both me an my DH did the grocery shopping, cooking and the drives to and from the dr. appts. We loved the 2 AM calls when the ambulance showed up at my in laws house. Since we lived on 4 mins away, we were on call. It was rather tough considering we had to fit in our own chores and taking care of our then 3yr old. Neither one of them could drive, my MIL went legally blind and had a heart condition, my FIL could barely move with leg problems, we installed a chair lift and had call buttons in the house set up to the EMTS just in case. Would I have changed it, no I miss them so much and loved them. It's tough all around especially when you have children and parents who need assistance. It's like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. I know about exhaustion, remember to also take care of yourselves in this process. I came down with some medical issues due to the stress.

Hang in there and if you need to talk we are there to listen. :listen:

Kamgen, the same goes for you, sorry to here about your parents. To have parents who are so young with health problems.

Well, it's time to go to church.

Talk to you all later.
DiDi

Look forward to seeing you on the Cruise. I feel so much better now that all the help is lined up. Didn't realize it would be such a hassle. Funny my DW's parents could be yours. Her Mother is just about blind and her Dad gets an infection in the leg often. Several 2am Emergency room visits

Happy Monday!

DiDi- thanks...yeah it is difficult being far away and having ill parents. Luckily they take care of each other and keep me posted.

We are getting ready to pay off our cruise...God bless tax returns! :rotfl2: Without that, no cruise for us :guilty: (now, that would be entirely unacceptable!)

It has been since fall 2004 since my last cruise and I am so looking forward to it! This will be our son's first cruise! :goodvibes SOme people say we are crazy for cruising with a 13mth old, but hey, I cannot imagine getting there and seeing the mouse and not having my son with me! ;) His first trip to WDW was at 4mths and he did wonderfully and loved the characters (at least I think he did, he only cried at Chip! LOL!)

And between now and the cruise, we have one more trip to WDW planned and are moving to North Carolina....so I guess we will be pretty busy! Looking forward to a week of relaxation and sun! :sunny:

Cannot wait to meet all of you! :wave2:

Live and learn... I sat down with DH and we went over the hotel options for the night before and he said we should stay an the new Residence Inn :sad2: instead of Ron Jon's because we really won't have time to enjoy the pool/river/slide, and the Residence Inn will be less expensive and includes the breakfast. He said he would like to drive around and explore Florida a little bit. I shoulda never asked his opinion...

Hey everyone!
Just bumping this one up!!!

We are so ready to cruise....wish it was time! :sunny:

Kamy, right with you girl.....cruising should be happening now. Oh why do I have to wait until September? :sad2: Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!!! :yay: :yay:

Anglea, shame on you... :rotfl2: asking your DH his opinion. I'll set up a meeting at Palo's where I will hand you the secret manual. Rule #1 will be discussed in length over champagne. :rotfl2: ;) Of course I can not let on to any information in this thread and it can not get into the hands of the menfolk. I think extensive rehabilitation will have to take place on your part. :lmao: After at least 5 glasses of champagne, :drinking1 you'll catch on and your DH will never know what hit him. ;) :rotfl: :rotfl2: Of course any of the other ladies who would like to join me in this special excursion let me know. I'll plan on booking Palo's for how many? :listen:

Well I am looking forward to meeting all of you and I really wish it was sooner......

Talk to you all tomorrow. Where is Betsy? Have you started your new job yet?

Have a nice night. :cloud9:
