We made reservations at Hojos for Sept 29th (Wednesday). Planning on DL and DCA the 29th and 30th. We couldn't get the room we wanted at Hojos. I've been calling every few days or so to see if any of the suites are available. When I called yesterday, they told me they are now completely sold out.

We also made a last minute reservation for this upcoming labor day weekend and were able to get a smokin' deal on a family suite on the HOLIDAY. :confused3

Now I'm thinking about the trip at the end of the month....

Is there something going on Sept 29th (Wednesday) and Sept 30th (Thursday) that would make the parks unusually crowded? Just seems very odd that they are completely sold out on a Wednesday at the end of Sept, yet we got a great room/ great deal on a holiday. :confused3

I'm not familiar with the Trick or Treat thing. Does that start that week maybe?

Any other reason to believe the park would be unusually crowded then?

Maybe it has to due with gay days being that weekend (Oct. 1-3) ??? :confused3

HalloweenTime starts on September 17th and Mickey's Halloween Party starts on Friday, October 1st. It's possible (but not 100% certain) that there are a lot of folks coming in earlier in the week and staying through the first night of the MHP.

Otherwise, I don't know of anything specific happening on 9/29 and 9/30 to cause HoJo's to be all booked, other than just the fact that Halloween has gotten more popular at DLR over the last few years and is attracting bigger crowds. If HoJo's had a great entertainment rate going on for that time, it's entirely possible those dates were booked up weeks ago.

We are going Oct. 3-8 and HoJo's is sold out that entire week. :confused3 DI &S's only has one type of room left for that week also.

Could be something else going on in the area...
back in March i went and the hotel i stayed at was fully booked, there were lots of some high school volley ball players, i guess there was some big tournament that weekend in Anaheim. the same weekend there was this huge catholic school's convention at the Anaheim convention center, so lots of hotels were booked for that reason as well.

DLR was not anymore crowded than a typical Saturday, so the other activities going on in Anaheim had no effect on DLR crowds.
Hopefully this is the case for your trip! But I guess you just have to wait and see.

Do you think if you call the hotel and ask why its so booked they might tell you? They might know of other things going on in the city that would impact the availability of rooms.

We are going to be there that week as well (celebrating birthdays.) We booked our trip in early February, so we have been planning it a long time. I am bracing myself for huge crowds because of HalloweenTime.
