A total of 17 rooms with 38 adults and 27 kids? Just making sure I've got the count right.

Looking forward to seeing you all REAL soon: 17 days and counting.

On a side note...I printed my door magnets last night. Woohoo, now I'll be able to find my room.

Docs came today! I guess it's official.

We are bringing two of our grandchildren, boys 8 & 9. How dressy is appropriate? Dress shirt & tie okay, or do they need jackets?

Mary&Jim

Yeah for you! We are still waiting on our docs ~ they better come soon!

This is our 3rd Wonder Cruise and my two boys have always worn khakis (light or dark) and either a button down (no tie) or a polo shirt. They have always looked very nice and fit right in. No need for ties (unless you like to dress them up a bit~ then go for it!)

Hi! Some cruisers make magnets to decorate their cabin doors. It looks festive and is sometimes helpful for the kids (and adults) to find their cabin. It is not a part of the FE exchange.

See you at the meet!

Thanks for the correction on the counts. I noticed a few threads on the boards about magnetic paper or using magnetic tape with regular paper to create door magnets. It makes your door stand out a bit, makes it a little festive, and (yes) helps adults notice which door is theirs.

Don't worry I'd be able to find it just fine with or without the magnets. I talk a big game about drinks, but never really follow through. Though i am looking forward to a few drinks of the day and the Konk Koolers.

I'm very jealous of you all receiving you docs. Ours are supposed to be waiting for us at All Star Music when we arrive in 9 days :dance3:

Our boys are 5 and 3. I noticed that Mary and Jim asked about how their grandsons need to be dressed. Do the boys need to wear Khaki pants and polo/button down shirts every night or just on the dress up night. Can they wear dressy shorts or are shorts not allowed in the dining room?? If they need dressy shirts for each night I better get shopping:)

We got our docs yesterday. Now it is really becoming real!!!

I'll post what I found on DCL's website:

On 4-night cruises:
First night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One "dress-up night" — jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
Final night: cruise casual — no shorts, swimwear or tank tops

That all being said...I have dress shorts which look much better than some of the jeans I own. I would think that khaki's and a polo shirt would be fine and a jacket is not seen on the majority of the gentlemen for dress-up night from the posts I have read. There are many who have mentioned that the dress code is not enforced, meaning you will not be turned away from dinner for not following the above list.

Thanks HoosierFrog for the reply. I figure my kids will look nice whether it be dress shorts or khakis so I'm certainly not going to stress over trying to find new things before the cruise.

I also wanted to say a big thanks to churros for putting the final FE llist together. I have everything for my FE's and am just putting them together. I thought I'd make a few extras and give them out to random staterooms and spread the cheer:)

So, what did you print your door magnets on? I can't decide how I want to do it. I'm thinking about card stock with magnet tape on back. Should I laminate, too, or will they curl up? BTW, we leave in 12 days!!! :yay: :cool1:

You can buy magnetic paper at Staples that you can put thru a home printer like regular paper.

To find quick images, you can go to google images and search for your favorite Disney characters. Just copy the image over to a document or picture file and print out on your magnetic paper just like you would a document or pictures at home. Use a best picture setting and they look great. The images can then be cut out with a regular pair of scissors and you then have your door magnets. You could also design nametags and such if you are graphically gifted.

I used the magnetic paper that dino mom metnioned. It's somewhat pricey...I think we paid about $15 for 5 sheets at Staples. However, the card stock with magnetic tape seems to be less expensive and looks just as good from pics I've seen on the boards. I picked up the magnetic paper before I read through the boards. I also liked an idea someone mentioned about hanging a clear pocket or pockets with magnetic tape on your door and simply swithching out the pages inside the pocket(s). That way you'll simply be printing on regular paper and can easily change your door design each day.

Am I the only one still waiting on docs? :confused3

I hope your documents arrive soon.

It is exciting when they show up at your door.

But if they never show up it is really no problem at all.

If you fill out all of the paperwork online and print what they tell you to, you really don't need the things they mail to you.

Other than the luggage tags but you can also get those when you arrive at the terminal.

Maybe today will be your day to receive some special mail:woohoo:

hey fellow cruisers,

I have a packing question...

Land - hot, humid, thunder showers are back in our forcast :scared1:
so I am setting up piles of shorts, tank tops, hats, and a light sweater to guard against the a/c for indoor shows, restaurants, etc.
Ponchos.
Heck, I might let her run around in her swimsuit and some quick dry shorts.

Sea - I am a little stumped... (nothing new :lmao: )
not sure if the breezes are cool enough to pack capri and a sweatshirt.

My past cruising
East coast: a Carnival out of Jacksonville in March.
I have pics of me in a wool sweater I brought just for the early morning flight.
I was so glad to have it. It was downright chilly.

West coast: Carnival out of Los Angeles in July. I remember it being warm and lovely.
A quick scan of the photos shows me & DD in our sweatshirts at night and on deck.

I have my large zip top bags ready for labels (thanks Disers),
Any packing experts for fall weather???

Thanks.
:laundy:

I am no fall cruising expert because most of our cruises have been in January.

But I'm thinking you will want to make sure that you bring long pants and a jacket or sweatshirt of some sort.

It can get chilly at night, especially when the ship is sailing. The breeze up on deck can be quite strong and cool.
