Sept. 28th, 2008 - Oct. 2nd, 2008 * Wonder 4 Night *

About DS(12)....Wow, high school. 12 is middle school in the states. Most kids in High School are 15-18. We have 3 levels (Elementary, Middle School or Junior High, and High School). It's hard to be on the edge of the cut off. I wouldn't worry too much about it. There are so many things to do outside of the programs, I'm sure he'll still have a good time. Maybe you can talk to program director once you are on board. :thumbsup2

Thanks!

My gang has voted, and as soon as my TA gets back to me, we'll be officially joining you! Our first ever cruise :woohoo: DH will celebrate his birthday on the 30th.

I'm not hard to spot. I'll be the frazzled looking one dragging 4 kids behind her, breaking up fights and trying to keep DS3 from falling overboard :rotfl:

Churros - my older boys are 15 and 12 as well. Maybe we can introduce the 12 year olds so they'll have someone to talk with in the kids area.

I was wondering if anyone had kids who were interested in being cruising pen pals with my nephews (6 & 8). This will be their first cruise and I thought it would be really cool if they had a pen pal to chat with that they knew would also be on the cruise.

A little bit about them:
Nephew #1: He is 7, and will be 8 by the cruise. He is in 2nd grade and has the biggest imagination of any kid I've ever met. Loves to dress up or invent he own costume (power range, pirate, super hero, you name it). Acts out movies or some story he has made up on his own. Reads and write extremely well. Loves video games and any Disney movie!
Nephew #2: He is 5, and will be 6 by the cruise. He is in Kindergarten and loves it. He loves his big brother and most of the time he wants to do what his big bro is doing. However, he has no problem being his own person and telling his big bro when he's doing something he shouldn't. :) Loves legos and plays video games for a short time before he finds something else.

They both love to swim and have informed me that they will be spending lots of time at the Mickey pool. :) They have even tell me what deck it's on!

Let me know if anyone is interested. Boy or girl, doesn't matter to them. Neither has a problem with girls, they play with their female cousin all the time!

Welcome aboard! Great to hear our boys are the same age - maybe as we get a little closer to the cruise they can chat online! I'm sure if your boys are into any gaming technology and/or music they will hit it off!:thumbsup2

I think our boys will be fast friends. Both of older boys have to have their game controllers pried out of their hands for dinner :rotfl: My older one is a huge sports nut too, so I imagine he'll be on the basketball court as much as possible.

We booked yesterday. Right now we are in 6120 and 6122, but it may change depending on if our TA can change it to the ones she held for us (long story!)

Welcome MizTigg! That puts us up to 3 12yo boys. MY DS12 will be so happy to have other people to hang out other than his 15 yo brother!

Our TA moved us to the rooms she had held instead of the ones I booked, so we are now in 6100 & 6102. And we added 4 nights at WDW (offsite) before the cruise. We got our confirmation and postcards from DCL yesterday and the kids are off the wall excited! (yeah 6 months + to go yet, guys!)

Hey guys! I just wanted to let everyone know that I have updated the FE list on the first page. There are a few stateroom #'s missing. Please PM me if you need any corrections made or if you have a stateroom # to add.

Did I miss anyone so far????

Well, the school calendar came out, and there are a couple of major conflicts, so we have to push our cruise back to November :( I'm going to miss meeting all of you. Have a wonderful time!

Thanks Chelley00 - I'm sure you will have a great cruise in November!

Hi Everyone,

We are booked on this cruise. It'll be Me, DH, DS and DD. DS is 8 and in 2nd grade, DD is 6 and in Kindergarten. It's our 2nd Disney cruise (first time on the Wonder). We did the 7 Night Western last December and are doing the 7 Night Eastern during Thanksgiving 2009 with 5 other families.

DH and I decided, on a whim, to do this so we aren't sure if we're going to tell the kids or surprise them. We'll be in cabin 5509.

Sharon

Welcome aboard!:woohoo:

What night are you doing MNSSHP? We are hoping to go 10/9. We don't celebrate Halloween in Australia (well some of the shops try sell merchandise) so this is a cultural experience for us!

We are doing MNSSHP the night we get off the ship (10/2). We love MNSSHP more the Mickey's Christmas Party or the Pirate and Princess party. I love seeing all the creative costumes. We went a few years ago when my kids were young and we all dressed up. I was Cruella, the kids made their own dalmation costumes and DH was a dog catcher. Pluto acted really scared when he saw DH with his big "dog catching" net. The kids got a kick out of it.

Sounds great but I don't think we'll be dressing up!

Hello everyone,

My first to post to any message board anywhere!
Me, DH, & DD (6 1/2) will be on a land and sea package.
We are staying at the Port Orleans. Loved the pool slide...

This is our first Disney cruise.
I love the idea of the fish extenders & door magnets.

We are flying in from California (frequent visitors to Disneyland)
If our cruisers from Australia have any questions, just ask.
May I suggest making reservations for the Blue Bayou restaurant.
It is inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride.
It's one of our favorites.

I'm driving my poor hubby crazy with all my excitment and planning,
it's great to find some other disney fans.

G'day gr8lg8 - welcome aboard!

We are planning to book at Blue Bayou for lunch on our last day in the States. Our last trip to DL was through Make-A-Wish and we went June 2005 (very crowded!) and we knew very little but this time thanks to all the forums and podcasts and our own Disney club here in Australia I am much better informed and prepared. But it is always great to know someone to ask questions such as what time should I make my ADR for BB to ensure a table by the water?

The forums are great for Disney geeks like us, we will never tell you that you are talking too much about Disney. Likewise I have now learned you can never plan too much - thank goodness for excel!

Also has anyone heard about the early morning wake up call by Customs for international guests on the cruise?:scared1:

Hi everybody! I'd love to join in on the festivities! We're booked for a land/sea, staying at the BC before the cruise. We're really excited--it's our first cruise, and DD's 6 and 10 (7 and 11 on the cruise) don't know yet :ssst: I would love to get in on the fish extender idea, too...sounds like a lot of fun! So, our crew is me, DH, DD11, and DD7, and we're booked in Cabin 6054. Looking forward to seeing everyone and making some new friends! I almost forgot, we're having a late celebration for my 40th b-day, and DD's birthdays.
