Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Between :teacher:home schooling all four of my kids, and doing the books for my hubbys company, remembering to take the dogs in for their shots...since they can't be borded [which is another story :sad1:] unless their shots are up to date..and the shots will "expire" 2 days after we leave.. so we have to get their shots. finishing up my FE's, shopping for new shoes for all the kids  and getting some new cute outfits for all of them. Finding out that one of our big luggages have a mice hole in it..[dang us for living next to a leve] so having to buy a new one. Remembering to stop all our mail, along with a TOUSAND other things:crazy2:.. I haven't been sleeping at night.. just about fell asleep at Drama Ministry last night. UUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGG :sad2: And to top it off I have called and emailed that stupid "Pappa Bear" tour place and have yet to receive even one tiny "we will get back to you later" call/letter. :headache: So now I have to plan/find something else to do in St Thomas. :confused3 and on top of all of that...:ssst:I think I am PMS'ing:sick: I should be party: with only 20 more days till we leave, but instead I am :crazy: I hope everyone else is doing MUCH better then I am. I told DH that I need the suitcase taken out of the garage and put in our room so I can pack for the boys..that will take a few things off my list..and hopefully ease some of my stress, well that and a big

Woo hoo! Our cruise docs are here!!

:thumbsup2

Well everyone....I know you will miss me :lmao:.....but I am out of here! Wedding is Saturday and I have a busy Friday ahead of me. My sister from Florida has arrived and brother-in-law from Alabama is here. Rest of family from South Carolina will arrive tomorrow.

Have a great Labor Day weekend and I will talk to you all next week! Not much longer till we will all be on the Magic!!!

:lovestrucAaahhhhh thank you so much. Actually after I sent the post, I wrote down all the things that I have to get done.. and if I take one or two a day then I should be fine. :lovestruc

On a side note we have been working with the boys about what to expect on an airplane..it isn't going as well :sad2: as I had hoped, but it should all work out. We bought the boys mp3 players and the old videonow players and some "new to them" gameboy games. I just dread that we will be the family that others RUN off the plane talking about. :scared1: espically after 7 1/2 hours. :rotfl:

I know what you mean...I have a million things to do as well. I have my list and I just make sure that I do a couple things a day. And then I tell myself, if I forget something or don't get something done ahead of time, then it's no big deal. Besides, it's vacation and we are supposed to RELAX, right?! ;)

As for the plane ride, remember that you will probably never see those people again. I can't imaging taking a 7-1/2 hr flight, but things may go better than you expect. It sounds like they will have a lot to entertain them...I'm throwing some pixie dust your way! pixiedust:

See you in about 3 weeks!:yay:

Doing the We got one cabins docs today.. :dance3: dance. Hopefully our other cabin will be in tomorrow....or else DH and the boys will be staying home  DH didnt' think that was very funny :rotfl:

Rebecca, hang in there. Things will get better. :grouphug: So no answer from Papa Bear? Hmm? Maybe just rent a car and do your own tour?

Pam, have an Awesome Wedding!!! Look fab, shed a little tear and enjoy your day! Precious moments!

Great news for me, I can fit all my clothes in ONE/UNO Duffel Bag!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:Wondering how? Bought Packing Cubes from Ebags.com. One happy cruiser! Almost packed/trial.

No doc's here yet  My mail man is very slow! Congrats to others. One more day of work. Next week I only work 2 days and then Jury Duty.

Hi all. It's been a hectic week. DS started kindergarten. I wish I was :woohoo: but i'm more :sad2:. It's been an adjustment for me. He did great though and loves everything so far...especially riding the bus. So that's all I can ask.

We have gotten no cruise docs yet so no :yay: yet. I did finally finish filling out all of the online "paperwork". Kept putting that off for some reason. Hoping they can't change my room now that it's all filled out. :)

I ended up ordering the pillowcases. Figured this will be our first Disney cruise of many, so will do the frame thing next time. I had "gradysmommy" make them since she was already doing my FE. She's doing an Ariel embroidery and a Star Wars Mickey embroidery and they will say, respectively, Paige's magical dreams begin here; and Corbin's magical dreams begin here! I think my kids will like it. Looking forward to getting my stuff. I haven't started packing but I have a bag of stuff that has to be packed all ready to go. So when the suitcases come down from the attic, the stuff can just be thrown in.

The wristbands are in, the wristbands are in.

Yippee!!!:cool1::cool1:

Yayyyy! Thanks again for all of the organization. I can remember I owe $11.00 in case you want to not send me a PM about it. Does that include the shipping you had to pay?

Pam: ENJOY THE WEDDING!!!

I just called DCL to see what the cost would be to upgrade from to an oceanview and he quoted me something like $800 more (way too much for my budget!!!). Right after I spoke to them, I looked on the DCL website and the price difference was only $500. Does the DCL website have different pricing than when you call direct?

I also asked if there is a chance that I could upgrade at the port and I was told that it would be even more expensive there. From what I have read this isn't always the case, can anyone confirm? Maybe I've got the wrong impression.

Thanks!

We did the upgrade to a verandah and it ended up only being $700.00 when we were told before we did it that it was $820. After we agreed to the $820, we found out later it was only $700.00. Not sure what the discrepancy was. I know it will totally be worth it. Especially since the upgrade fairy shot us up from a 6 to a 4.

Ok, have what I think is a good ? How do I go about packing a SUIT!? never done this before and need some help!
fourgonefishn

Throw the suit in the suitcase along with everyone else. Then send all stuff needing ironing out with the laundry on the first night for pressing. We do this every cruise and prevents us having to iron anything. It is worth every cent!!!!

Between :teacher:home schooling all four of my kids,

Just this part of your post still amazes me. How you have time for anything else. :worship::worship::worship:

Wow! Too bad we have two other cabins traveling with us or else I would seriously consider switching. That is a great discount.

Nighttime Meetup -Did we decide if we were going to meet in one of the clubs one night on the cruise?

Yes...meet up NIGHT(S) is definitely a must. I gotta acclimate my daughter to the club ASAP. She starts preschool next week so I hope she will get the hang of preschool and just go right into the club no problem. But today was just orientation at preschool and she was glued to my side thinking I'd leave any second. She will be tough. My son will be a piece of cake. He always has been with school stuff.

Can those that got cruise docs tell me how they came so I know who to stalk, and about what time to give up hope for day.

That's awesome! I saw those packing cubes and I thought about getting them, but they are kind of expensive, aren't they?

Our UPS guy brought ours. It was funny b/c I've been doing a lot of online shopping lately and he is usually at our house about twice a week. Well, I thought I had received everything I had ordered and then he rang the doorbell today! I was like "what the heck did I order now?" (Pretty sad, that I can't remember what I have ordered :lmao:) So I looked at the little envelope and saw it was from Disney and I was like :woohoo::woohoo:. My DH was wondering what I was hollering about!

We got our cruise documents today  getting that package from the UPS guy always make it feel real and close..only 22 days :yay:

Well, I think it's funny. Wouldn't that solve your worry about the flight?! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:;)

Congrats to all of those that have gotten their docs! :thumbsup2

I want ours! I'm not sure what I'll do to the USPS guy if I see him stopping in my street but not bringing the docs. :rolleyes1:scared1::rotfl2:

How do the Packing Cubes help with getting everything into a smaller bag? I have them in my shopping cart on ebags and ready to click buy, but want to check first with you or anyone else who uses them how they help. I went on a few sites to see reviews and everyone adores these things??!!??!! TIA!!

After seeing them, all I can think off is having seperated compartments for mulitple people and/or different type of clothes etc?? Personally I hate this type of packing, so wrack all of this stuff out of my lugguge if it's in there. :lmao:

Another option is vacuumbags. With them, you can get all of the air out, thus needing less space for the same amount of clothes.

Personally, I do the vacuumthing without the bags. I put multiple cloth items on eachother, and than start to roll them up. While doing so, I pull them as tight as I can. Sounds silly, but I've found you can fit A LOT more into the same suitcase by doing it this way. Bonus is that when doing it for a small stack of clothitems, it hardly wrinkles (can do when rolling each item up seperately). I combine that with sizing. So basically I'll stuff socks into a refillable mug so the space doesn't go to waist. Put a brush and a perfume bottle into a pair of shoes etc. etc. You'ld be amazed to see how much you can fit into one suitcase. WAY more than your luggage allowance. :lmao::headache::laughing:

On our last trip, for the return flight my mom had her suitcase filled and still about 1/2 a suitcase worth of stuff left. She basically packed 'like a woman', as me and dad call it. So I pulled it out, repacked with the rolling technique et voilà. All got in there. :rotfl2:

Just found out our DME papers have arrived at TA, so should be getting them beginning next week. Nothing yet for DCL, so she is calling them to find out.

Thank you for all the packing ideas! Does anyone else have some tips to share? Any items that some of us might miss/not know about?

I always pack a clear plastic over the door shoe organizer. This worked well for us before since the bathrooms have little counter space.

I am also going to pick up some movie treats since we have had to pay extra for those in the past.

~Illuminating Travel Alarm Clock if you are the type of person that wants to know what time it is if you wake up in the middle of the night

~Nightlight as the room is really dark at night, even the verandahs.

We do the over the door shoe organizer as well. It is great for diapers, wipes, sunscreen, ect. We use it for everything but shoes. LOL!
