Too Bad I did not have any Old GOLD! That is a great idea. I bake cakes for extra money. I have been saving since June and have about $300.00. Iam sick of cake!! ;)

Woohoo!!!!! Sold my old gold jewelry...rings, necklaces, earrings, charms (mostly all from my high school days). I'll be getting a check for.....wait for it......$790!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::yay::yay::woohoo::woohoo: More money to add to the cruise fund!!!!

Lucky duck!!! I can't believe you had that much stuff. We are having a garage sale on Labor Day weekend to try and clean out the attic while making some $$$!!!

SPECTRUM: Well well done.:worship: Awesome recap. Unfortunately, you've just done yourself in. You are so good at this that you have 6 more weeks to recap plus a super duper cruise wrap up. You'd better bring along a note pad to carry around the ship. ;)

Thanks for the reminder on the lanyards. Rebecca...can I ask you a question...how big will the cards in the lanyards be? Just so I don't get something too small. I hope that is okay to ask.

AND SPEAKING OF FEs...does anyone have any pull with "gradysmommy" on ebay? I guess she went on vacation, and was supposed to return early August. I dumbly waited to buy my FE from her, and now have tried to contact her to no avail. Just hoping to get my order in with her since I just loved her FEs she had listed on ebay before she left. There is still no sign of her on ebay.

I have been waiting on her also. Have sent emails but no response. I do not sew and have no time now to even attempt to make one. Please let me know if you hear from her. She has made me several FE in the past and I love them so I hope we hear from her soon because she does really good work.

I had a day off today!!! No wedding planning, no cruise planning, no nothing. I spent the whole day with a friend and had a great time doing a whole lot of nothing! 3 weeks from right now the wedding will be over...yay....then it is all about the cruise!!!!!

only thing I can think of is calling a flower and gift shop?? they make baskets and may know of the white chocolate.

What is white maltesers (?), that can't be what she is looking for is it?

Sonia

No these were milk chocolate the white chocolate was in ref to goofieslonglostsis saying info she found out about kit kat bars and white chocolate not being in US.
Thanks for suggestion though.

Welcome back Hal! So sorry to hear about your MIL. I would be tired of driving, too. Are you driving to Port Canaveral as well?

thanks for the condolences.:lovestruc

Well.... this weekend we are actually driving to atlanta to see the braves play the marlins on sunday :car: maybe catch six flags over GA on saturday? those from atlanta: is it worth it? isn't there a water park too? then school starts :teacher: :cheer2:and a few weeks later, yes, we will be driving to FL. poor van!:car:

what great ideas!! :worship: unfortunately i don't think anyone would pay for something i baked :rotfl: and i'm not sure i could part with my jewelry even if i could find it :cutie: anyway, i am so not good at saving $$. and here recently with traveling so much, most of it is going into my gas tank

Good morning, everyone!! Well, we met Ansley's Kindergarten teacher yesterday and we're very excited because Ansley is assigned to the teacher we were hoping for (I really can't believe our luck - - everyone wants this particular teacher because she's so amazing). YAY!! :yay: :woohoo:

However, apparently, our school district has changed its policy on absences to be even more strict, and, unfortunately, we aren't going to be able to pull her out of school on Friday so we can attend MNSSHP. :guilty: (We are going to be in enough hot water for pulling her out for 5 days for the cruise.) So, to everyone who we were supposed to meet at MNSSHP, I'm so sorry that we won't be there to party with you, but I know that you guys will be having a rockin' time anyway!! :cheer2:

OH NO :sad1: we were looking forward to hooking up with you at MNSSHP! we are in a similar situation here so i understand.

Crystal~~ You might want to find out what time they take attendance. At our school it's at 9:30 in the morning and if you leave after that you are considered present for the entire day!! We will be pulling our kids at about 10:00 on the 25th so that we can make a noon-ish flight and they will not be counted absent on Friday.

Here in Texas school funding is based on how many kids are at school each day at 'attendance time'. At $40.00 per kid, per day it adds up (or doesn't if there is a truancy problem).

I am not sure how long of a trip it is, but maybe you can pull here at the magic hour and head on down the road.

we hope to only miss 5 days since our 'attendance cutoff is 11:30 am so we will pack the van in the am friday while the kids are at school then sign them out and proceed to Mickey's place. won't get there till late tho. we bought tix to MNSSHP so we are committed so to speak :cutie:

So happy she got a great teacher! We have our meet-the-teacher next Friday, the 21st. So excited!

That sucks about the attendance policy though and that you have to miss MNSSHP. We're pulling DD out for 6 days. Actually, we are pulling her out on Thursday at noon b/c then she's not considered absent for that day. Then she'll miss Friday and the week after. We're spending a couple days at the Nick Hotel before the cruise.

will you guys be going to MNSSHP too?

I grew up in Atlanta and have spent a lot of time at both Six Flags and White Water. As with any of those types of park, they are all expensive, but I think they are fun. Kids will definitely love it. Always better to get to any of those places right when they open so you can at least beat some of the lines. If you can go during the week all the better because kids have started school down south. But I imagine that applies in NC too?? And I'm so sorry to have read about your MIL. Hope your DH is doing okay.

WOO-HOO - good for you!!

Yeah, I've been Craigslisting my heart out these past couple of weeks. Ansley has so many "higher end" toys that she just doesn't play with (and, when I cleaned out my closet when Randy and Ansley were gone, I found some crap too), so I've just been posting there and have gotten a few hits. It's a nice way to earn money *and* to clear out some clutter - LOL.

thanks for the condolences.:lovestruc

I don't know if you'll get this before you leave, but Six Flags and Whitewater are two distinct parks and are about 30 minutes away from each other. You would have to pay admission at both places... Either way, I hope you enjoy the game and our wonderful city!! Watch out for the construction...everywhere!!

Well, there still may be hope - LOL. Our *new* plan (based on the advice from everyone here :lovestruc) is to check DD out as soon as we can from school on Friday. In an ideal world, they will take attendance at 9:00 a.m. and we can check her out right and get on the road right away. If that's the case, we will definitely be attending MNSSHP. However, if they don't take attendance until noon, then it just doesn't make sense to pay for the party if we can't get at least 6 hours there (we'll check out the pool at BLT instead...which wouldn't break my heart at all). :cloud9:

We'll see!!

And, I'm so excited - DH and I did some serious work on our FE gifts last night and today. They are coming together nicely...now, if I can just get started on the FE itself - LOL!! :cheer2:

Glad you liked her teacher and that's stinks they are so strict where you are. I hope that they take attendance early in the monring so yall can check her out and get on the road. We'll be at MNSSHP that night if yall do get to come.

Karen; congrats on the spending money! :)

Crystal, you are sounding like an addict here. No surprises of course, and if you ask me a smart way to still be able to drive down to WDW before friday night.

Usually, I wouldn't be able to part with my jewelry either. But this was old jewelry, cheerleading charms from high school, broken chains, earrings where I lost one of them, a tennis charm (I used to play tennis, but haven't for years), old rings that I had from my teens, etc. They've been sitting in my drawer for probably 10+ years. I had NO idea I would get that much money...maybe $200 or so, but almost $800?!!!!! I was shocked!

will you guys be going to MNSSHP too?

We were going to, but I'm not the type of person who leaves early from those parties. And considering that we aren't staying on property (Nickelodeon Hotel), we wouldn't get back until VERY late. I know my kids (and DH) would be grumpy the next morning for sure. We are just going to hang out at the hotel and swim and enjoy the shows, etc. My girls are excited! However, not everything is set in stone...we may still go to MNSSHP. I'll let yall know if we change our minds!

And, I'm so excited - DH and I did some serious work on our FE gifts last night and today. They are coming together nicely...now, if I can just get started on the FE itself - LOL!! :cheer2:

Our FE is done! It looks soooooo good! Except I have to get the ribbon to hang it from. But that's on my Michael's list. My DD6 and I are going to work on putting the FE gifts together this week. We have everything for it, just have to assemble them. This is the last week before DD goes back to school, so it will give us some mommy/daughter bonding time putting them together. Exciting!!!

Jodi talked me into driving to MI to outlet shop, hang out, and put together FE gifts.

Actually we only have 39 FE cabins and a total of 68 cabins in the group. :thumbsup2

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao: Well, is my face red... For some off the wall reason I thought we were at 89 cabins..and thought they ALL were participating in the FE exchange...SOOOOOO it would be safe to say that I have PLENTY for any new folks :rotfl::rotfl:

Pretty much done with our door magnets :woohoo: EVERYONE will know which cabin is ours! I am having such a blast making these things.

:scared1: Oh my goodness...In all my busy schedule I TOTALLY forgot to start on these. I already bought the mag paper and downloaded a ton of cute Disney photos...so just need to edit them, personlize them and get them printed out. One really cool thing about home school, besides the whole vacation thing is that I get a pretty decent budget with 4 kids and they buy all my printer ink...black and colored. :woohoo: Speaking of homeschool it starts back tomorrow..and :sad2: no we are not ready...but will be at our dinning room table tomorrow morning sometime. :teacher:

OMG!!! You poor thing. Hopefully they aren't personalized for just this cruise. Maybe you can pass them off as an FE gift for your next trip.
