Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Hello again everyone! :wave2:And :welcome: to those people I haven't said hi to yet. I haven't been active on the thread in a few weeks. Summer has been busy and I'm exhausted. :coffee: I've been trying to keep up with the goings-on here, just haven't been posting much. Have I missed anything exciting? I can't believe how quickly this cruise is approaching. I've got a lot to do still - I better get busy. It'll be easier when school starts up again, though. Other than that, I've been shopping for cruise clothes. Found some great dinner dresses/outfits tonight at Kohl's . Kids have more than enough clothes. And we realized yesterday that DH has to get a new suit. :cake: And he lost his swim trunks :confused3, so I got him a couple new ones today as well. Ugghhh, men!

Question for FL residents...have they released FL resident rates yet? Any idea when/if they are doing this? It'll save us quite a bit of money, I'm sure.

Well, I'll talk to you all soon. Can't wait to meet everyone in person!

Karen,

Thanks for the OT code. I was getting ready to order some stuff from there and this will help for sure! :thumbsup2

How does this work? If they release FL rates we can get a refund even though it's less than 75 days out? And how would I get that rate, email my TA? Sorry to be stupid!

hi everyone! :cutie:

we're booked for this cruise. a little overwhelmed by the amount of people who already know each other.... but wanted to throw our hat in the ring.

I hope we all have a lovely time.

Welcome Jules! As said to all newbees; good luck with this group of........... 'interesting' folks. :lmao::rotfl2:

Good morning,

It is a little glommy here in Ohio.

Last night I was trying on all my cruise outfits and I am NOT going to fit it all in only 1 suitcase. Impossible. I am a type of person that has to match and change frequently. So Far I have selected:

Formal Dress
Semi Formal Dress
4 Dinner Outfits
1 Pirate Outfit, still not sure if fully dressing up in a theme
4 Swim suit cover ups
5-6 bathing suits
7 tops and 7 bottoms/skorts during day
Special PJ's for breakfast
PJ's
Undergarments
Did not think of shoes yet, few possibilities
Toiletries

Continental is going to Love Me in those extra bag surcharges. Anyone else has this problem? I am really trying but cannot see myself wearing the same thing? Never in my life...

We are actually driving so we don't have to worry about airline surcharges, but I will tell you that I found when we cruised in 2007, we waaayyyy overpacked. I was honestly surprised how many clothes we didn't end up wearing. However, a girl has to look stylish so it's difficult to find a happy medium.

Welcome to the party!!! Don't worry about feeling overwhelmed - - we're a friendly group and we take anyone (look at our reverant acceptance of FatCat - LOL). :goodvibes

I got this from elsewhere on the Dis Boards, I haven't tried it but I love Conch Coolers! :thumbsup2

makes around 5 or 6

6oz. Dark Rum (I use Captain Morgan's)
6oz. Light Rum (I use Parrot Bay)
8oz. Orange Juice (no pulp)
12oz. Passion Fruit Juice (Welches)
8oz. Cream of Coconut (I use Coco Lopez)
2 cups of ice

Mix all in a blender and blend until smooth.

UPDATE FOR FATCAT: Just do the same recipe and leave out OJ, Passion Fruit Juice and Cream of Coconut. :p

:welcome: to our group. If you will let me know your names and cabin number, I can add you to the roster on page 9 (see link in my signature).

I have 6 names on the FE list that do not list cabin numbers yet. If you have found out your cabin number, PLEASE let me know so I can add it to the list. Dont want you to get left out because we didnt know where to find you.

The ones we need are .... Ky Cruisin, ivet, PenskeSth1, Intlmanofmystery, Disneymom2008 and bobbie0253

Got another busy day today..... Briday shower #2....

Have a great day everyone!! 48 days to go!!!!

Hi all. I'm quick sneaking on. Please remove my cabin number from the list and put it as TBD. Since we have a guarantee now, I have no clue when we'll get our room assignment. :( Hopefully the word will get out on the cruise so we don't miss out on the FEs. Since we are going to try to get one of our FEs out the first night, if I don't have my cabin number before we leave for the trip, I'll try to include a note with our FE that says our final assigned cabin number.

Does anyone know when you get your room assignment with GTY?

Your TA should be keeping an eye out for when DCL releases their FL rates. I keep checking every day though, because the cruise the week before ours has their FL rates released already. I believe that your price is adjusted to reflect the FL rates. If anyone knows anything different, please enlighten us!

What's an FE? :littleangel:

We don't have a room assigned yet -- we did a cat 12 GTY and we're still waiting. Couldn't beat the price!!!

:cheer2:

Edit -- nevermind, I see what an FE is -- fun!

I'm still waiting, too. I've been checking over at Cruisecritic a little and it could be within days of our arrival -- but it seems to be more like 3 weeks.

I'd love to know! We booked last September! :sail:

FE = FatCat Endorsement

Behave yourself! No teasing the newbees, stick to us that have become used to you. :lmao::rotfl:

Jules, FE stands for Fish Extender. There's a fish next to each stateroom door. We hang these handy 'bags' (not really bags, there are FE topics on the main cruise board with pics if you want to see) from them, so people can put notes, little gifts etc. in them when we're out partying. So basically; go on a cruise and STILL collect your mail daily. :lmao::rotfl:

The FE thing looks fun! Looks like we missed the deadline, though. ;)

We're mid 30's travelling with no children, so hopefully there will be other couples we can hang out with! My DH likes to drink beer, talk about hockey and motorcycles. I like to hang out by the pool and sip frou frou drinks.

We're booked on a snorkel excursion in St Thomas and are not sure what we're doing in St M. I was reading about a place called Margot or something like that where we can take a bus or something there and just sort of hang in a cafe and do some shopping. I hear the snorkeling is not so fab in St M.

That said, we are planning on snorkeling at Castaway and the adult beach is always divine. :thumbsup2

Are we still able to get in on some sort of wrist band or other ID that lets everyone know that we're friendly and wanting to meet people? :)

2 hrs away, I am in Cleveland. No fees for you? How did you get that deal? I am doomed for those extra baggage fees.
Gotta luv Southwest. Best airfare, can change without charge if better fare comes around and 2 bags fly free/person.

Sonia, just sending you one of these for alllllll these great drink recipes: :worship: YOU ROCK!!

Right back at ya!!! and here's another

Bahama Mama

1/2 oz white rum

1/2 oz meyers rum

1/2 oz creme de banana

1/2 oz malibu rum

2 oz oj

dash of grenadine (although I dont think missing this will do any damage)
