Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Thanks for the welcome :)

I am just having a hard time figuring out when to schedule the nursery. Is it a limit to 10 hours or just 10 reserved hours? We have been given late seating dinner. I am not sure I like the idea, but we will manage.

Not sure if you have other little ones but....I took Matthew to Disney, along with my 14 yr old, when he was 7 weeks old...and you're going to love Disney with a newborn :) It was actually pretty relaxing. I am a baby wearer though...and if you don't wear your little one, you might want to try it. I used a Moby Wrap in Disney and it made life sooo easy. We still brought a stroller, but all it did was hold all our stuff...LOL

From what I understand, you can only reserve 10 hours online now but you can reserve more once on board if its available. Personally, we have late seating which is fine with us since Bailey goes to sleep around 730-8. We plan to take our stroller with us for him to sleep in while we're eating.

I also wear him but I have a babyhawk carrier. Bailey is a very alert little one and he likes being able to see things so the wraps didn't work for us. But he loves his carrier and I definitely plan to bring it with me.

LOL! I have a BabyHawk too. I LOVE it now that Matthew is getting too big for the Moby. (He is 18lbs6oz at 5 months). I am so addicted to babywearing...my entire family thinks I am nuts!

What about the FE thing... is it too late to sign up? It sounds like a lot of fun!

I am soooo excited about this cruise. It's all new to us. I just hope we love DCL as much as I think we are going to.

:welcome: to the disboards!! This is my second disney cruise (my oldest was 14 months on our first cruise, so ask any questions you have in regards of cruising with young children) We also have the late seating (I have a 4 yr old as well as a newly minted 1 yr old 2 days prior to the cruise) and I am planning on bringing the stroller in with us during dinner. We have booked the 10 hours for the nursrey and once we get on the ship, we will reevaluate it once we see how our youngest does with dinner. She is usually sleeping by 6:30, but as we all know with children, anything goes when you are on vacation!

I also babywear and most of my family thinks I am crazy. My favorite right now is the Patapum and that will definately be on the cruise with us. I will still bring our umbrella stroller for dinner time, though.

In regards to the FE. You can still participate, but might not get everything as a lot of us have ordered some things for the FE gifts. I know a few have ordered extra, so if you are interested, please join! What floor are you on and what is your stateroom, names of guests in your stateroom so you can be added to the list?

We booked a guarantee... :sad1: I hope we don't regret that. I don't care where we end up...but am praying it isn't all the way forward. I get motion sickness.

I will let you know what room we are in when we get an assignment.

I have never heard of a Patapum.... is it a ring sling? I am lovin' my Mei Tei's right now. I did buy a Beco a while back, but just can't seem to do the buckle thing yet. It feels alien to me. I use the Hotsling often too, but can't do carries for very long in that. Matthew just started sitting in his stroller without a huge fuss, but I can't get him to nap or sleep in it. I am praying he doesn't outgrow his infant seat in the next two months. I plan on bringing the travel system.

I do have a question. When we booked the girl said we can have anything pureed to feed him. Is that true?

I am off to price pre and post cruise Disney hotels.... LOL

Bonine. :hippie:

Good for the heart and does not make you fart.

Actually it is a good non drowsy motion sickness drug.
They make kids version to which i am sure is just a smaller dose but I buy it anyways vs. splitting a pill.

I was pretty far forward on deck 5 twice. I actually did not find it too bad. :cloud9:That was a Western Cruise though.

Aw shucks! I told DH we had to one day have that luxury of WD Suite. I clearly didn't read our posts thoroughly enough. I thought someone from the board was staying in there. Gotta go re-read I guess.

BananasTwo, you didn't misread the posts; we do have a cat 1 on the tour. I am staying in the Roy Suite but not the Walt. I think they are the same though.

Wowser!!!!!

Go away for the weekend, and boy do I have some catching up to do! :lmao:

FatCat - you continue to amuse us! We've got a commercial snow cone machine, you bring alcohol, we'll bring fixin's :rotfl2:

I'm ready for the cruise to be here!!!!!

I like the big name, small dis name on the tags as well. It helps to associate who we've been talking with on the boards for so long.:thumbsup2

We're still at our hotel, heading home today. Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend!

My offer goes out to you too then KimmySue...in case you want to be humbled, feel free to swap one night your Royal for our Cat 8. :lmao: Seriously though, I can't wait to see it. We stayed in a Suite on a Carnival ship for our honeymoon and it was great. Never again. I gotta have vow renewal with DH to deserve something like that again. Maybe next year for our 10 year anniversary.

I'd like in on that!! Last week we mixed Rita's Italian Ice with tequila. The kids were so ticked off and just didn't understand why mommy and daddy weren't being good sharers.

Regarding motion sickness: DH and I don't have a problem. But I remember on my first cruise, I took Dramamine as a preventative measure beforehand. Only because from what I understand, once you are sick, you can't reverse it. Should I do the same with my kids and give it before we sail? Sounds like they do make a kid's version of motion sickness meds. Anyone know how young you can be to take it? I know about the wristbands, which I tried using once when I was doing some flight training to get a pilot's license. They didn't help at all. Eventually I just got over it after 10 hours of flying. Anway, TIA.

:welcome: Glad you found us!!! This is mine and dh's third cruise BUT first with a baby (he'll be 15/16wks at the time we sail). So this cruise will be like no other for us. Just make sure you breath and don't kill yourself to do everything. Take it all in. If you have any specific questions just ask.

Welcome aboard, we are just an hour away on route 5. Look forward to meeting you. This is our second cruise. Our first cruise on Disney was the best.

:cool1:

Thanks for the welcome :)

.

Sorry I'm late in welcoming you, but glad you'll be joining our awesome cruise party!!

Last week we mixed Rita's Italian Ice with tequila.

Oh, that sounds totally YUM!!

And, about the motion sickness, none of us had any problems when we cruised in 2007, but I thought that it was hysterical that, when we were back on dry land, I found myself swaying and swaying and swaying for a good 3 days afterward...and that was only on a 4 night cruise. I'll be walking around like a drunken idiot for a month after this cruise! :rolleyes1

Grin, that sounds familiar. Allthough, in my case it's after taking a swim. I can re-live the feeling for a many nights. :rotfl:

Promis me that if you'll be doing the drunken idiot for months, you'll let me see the evidence on webcam or something. Maybe it'll help against the cruise-gone-by-blues. :scared1::rolleyes1

Do we sign up for the martini tasting at our check in time? Can't wait any longer! Still trying to get in for ressies at Palo for anniv. dinner, trying everyday and 2-3 times
fourgonefishn

Thanks for the extra "welcomes" :lovestruc

We can't get Palo reservations either. Oh well. We will try when we are on board.

I was looking at the rainforest spa thingy....and I am sooo going to be there every day! I love saunas and steam rooms. Plus it will give the "men" aka. Dave and Matthew some bonding time... :lmao:

Do we have a list somewhere for how many FE gifts that are needed?

Anyone ever try for an upgrade at embarkation and get one?

Not lovin' the new DCL site as of yet. :badpc: Considering I too am logging in repeatedly to check for Palo openings, it's frustrating to see Mickey swimming across the screen in super slow motion. :hourglass: The good news is that I've entered in my ressie number so many times, I actually have it memorized at this point. Can't wait until I'm a Castaway Club member and can do this crap at 90 days out. I will be up at midnight the next time. My house would be spotless and my laundry totally done if I could stop trying to get into Palo. :laundy:

After playing rockband with so many other friends, we bit the bullet this past weekend and got our own set albeit the Guitar Hero World Tour version. We ended up just getting Rockband the game separately. Couldn't pass it up though...only $99 for the whole set up. The kids are hysterical. Not really diggin' the songs they are picking up, but I can't help but crack up at my 3 year old singing, "No.....Sleep..... Till Brooklyn". Gotta love the Beastie Boys. :rockband:

You sign up at guest services. You can do this when you board.

Keep in mind that if the event sells out they sometimes do not print it on the navigator.

:welcome: Bobbie, Dave and Matthew!!!! Let me know if you get your cabin number before the cruise and I will add it to the roster so everyone will know where to find you.

You can click on the link in my signature line and see a list of everyone that is on the cruise including who will have a FE. I counted 37 cabins.

Looking forward to meeting you in a few weeks!!

My 8 year old sings "Roxanne." Talk about inappropriate (but hilarious)!!:rotfl:

No luck. I wonder if it has anything to do with the number of people in your party? Like the only reservation I can make for dinner is 1-2 people. If a reservation opens up for a 4 top, will that not be offered to me because there are only 2 adults in my party? Just curious.

Thanks to those of you who post those openings. Seems like we can't luck out, but at least we have some chance.

Good night.

Maybe we'll run into you there, then. We've got unlimited passes as part of our REAS-package and plan on using them. :thumbsup2

As far as I know, it does have something to do with it. Back at the 90-day mark we had the same thing happening were people would see openings for 1-2 adults but not for 3-4 and vice versa.
