Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Crystal, imagine ice skating, rock climbing or surfing on an RCCL ship? Now, that is a cruise ship!

That literally blows my mind!!! It's difficult to think about cruising without the Mouse, but I'm sure we'll venture out to another cruise line some day...especially after DH reads your post!!

DH and I have done 10 cruises together: 7 Carnival and 3 RCCL. While the size of the Disney ship is def. smaller than the last few cruises we've been on, I'm just thinking that it won't matter because everything will be so new. We almost know everything to expect on the other two lines. We were ready for a change. And this is our first cruise with our kids. Figured we had to bring them along eventually! ;)

Passports: We got them for both kids last year. I'd def recommend it. I was actually shocked at how quickly I got them back. 2.5 week turn around in August of last year. But don't count on that. Do it!!

I'll definitely be curious to hear how DCL compares to the others!!

BananasTwo, I am fully opened up to new adventures, especially Disney. We ALL grew up on Disney characters and I am so excited to finally sail with Mickey!!! As I said before, my DD Anika has been in Mickey training for months, LOL. I was taking some courses in early winter so that kept me busy and not thinking about vacation. Otherwise, I am back to full planning mode. We always come a day ahead, and I have done that in the past. This time, Nooo. It was supposed to be 1 day prior but adventurous me, booked a week in a 3 bedr/3 bath w/pool townhouse, 5 min from AKL. Oh well, we only live once.

Crystal, I will post some pict after 6pm of me ice skating on Freedom! Fun memories!!! I am missing that aft jr suite that've had. :sad2:

Anyone with children whom cannot participate in excursions due to height restrictions or age, what kind of other activities r u planning for 2 ports? In the past I've booked all my excursions through island itself. For St. Thomas I am planning to book a private taxi service/bus tour of the island; little fun on the beach, shopping, sight seeing. Anyone interested? St.Martin, not sure??

Welcome Hooked on Cruises! We will be in SR 7600, not too far from you. :)

Passports -We ordered our 4 year olds and 9 month olds passports last week. Was surprisingly a smooth process.

FatCat -That is funny! When you have time, can you send me gradysmommy's email address? TIA!

Hello to all,

I have been looking for a Sept 26th, 2009 Disney Magic Thread for months, Eastern route to add. 78 days left, sooo excited. My DM (celebrating big 60), DD (2) and I (Boba, female 32) will be joining you on this trip. This is an official Girls Only Trip!!! I hope it is not too late to join your group? I am an experienced RCCL cruiser, but 1st Disney cruise for all 3 of us. My DD has been in Mickey training for months, and she loves her Mickey. She will be turning 2 next month. We will be on deck 7, balcony room. Sending you some pixie dust!!!! This will be a 2 week vac for us, 1st week in townhouse in Kissimmee and then heading off to Port Canaveral that morning.

:welcome: Cant wait to meet you and your family. What is your mom and daughters names? Page 1 and 9 have a list of everyone sailing with us and activities that we have planned.

Hi Boba. Welcome.

Just got home from buying FE gifts. YAYYYY. I'm doing several little somethings. Thankfully DH didn't give me a hard time.

For the FE gifts, do you tag them so you know who they are from??

Emailed with Gradysmommy. She'll be contacting me after her vacation. Said there is plenty of time for my FE. I can't wait.

Some people put little tags or stickers with their name or DIS name on it, others do not. It all depends on you, what you have time to do, how much room on the gift, etc....Some have put the gift in a baggie and put a sticker on the outside of the baggie...

Thanks for a "Welcome" Mom to two girls. We will be going to post office tomorrow morning. Did you obtain a card or actual passport?

2 more hrs until I go home. Then it is mommy's night out, Margarita's, mmm

Disney Sweetie, my mom's name is Milka and DD is Anika. I will check page 9. Still undecided about FE's? Maybe too much to worry with trying to lug stroller, car seat, etc and not to forget my shoes, haha. Thanks!

We ordered the actual passports. Lucky, MNO! Yum, margaritas. Too bad I am home alone with my girls or else I would be starting my weekend cocktail a little early. With the hot weather outside, a margi sounds awfully good!

HOT WEATHER, HOT WEATHER...I don't know what I'm going to do if summer doesn't arrive at some point. We're nearly midway into July and we have not even broken 84 degrees. The weatherman said today that since the weather has been recorded (1876 or something like that), that this is the coldest weather in July in Pennsylvania ever. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Sorry, I'm totally bummed out tonight and so frustrated. Thankfully warm thoughts of the cruise are keeping me somewhat happy.

Daddy has the kids, and I'm off to make labels for my FEs. :)

Good mornin' to all,

I have safely returned from my mommy adventures and had a great time with the ladies. I also squeezed a therapeutic massage and I am feeling pretty good, will sleep like a baby. My girlfriends DH is a massage therapist. :cheer2:

Later in a day off to Bridal Shower 1st and then post office for passport. Rain tomorrow.

Whoa about your weather!!! However, I'm quite sure that your power bill isn't half of what mine is having to run the darn air conditioner all the time. That is totally cutting into the booze budget for the cruise!! :lmao:

Boba

Glad to hear last night's adventures were fabulous!! DH wants me out of the house today to prepare for my birthday party, so he booked me a massage and pedicure. :cloud9: He's a keeper, right??

Boba, you have to do a lot more than just be hooked on cruises before you are considered crazy in my book. ;) Gotta love those friends with DH's with magical hands! :)

Crystal; you said what?! Does DH come with 'clone' single brothers? Somehow I think they would be in high demand. What a great way to send you out of the house. Have a great party today! :)

Sounds like some of you now have been getting our rain. Finally it is clearing up here again, very glad it is after days of rain. Now only to get warm again. :)

every time I log on I also log on to DCL web site and check to see if any brunch's opened up...and this morning the Brunch Gods were smiling on me... YIPPEE we got brunch for Thursday at 10:30 I can't wait. It would only allow me to book for 2 of us..but will keep trying to get another one for DBIL. Happy, Happy, Happy!!!

Does anybody want a High tea for 3 on I believe it Oct. 1st. I have one booked and plan on cancelling it. If there is some way to work things so I can cancel it and a DISER can get it that would be great.
