Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Thanks for all the responses, and youors fire14. I might look into this more over the weekend here on computer, and if everything looks fine I'll rattle the TA cage. I'm very good at stirring things up.

Sailaway DIS Party - Deck 10, Overloooking the Pool - Starboard Side - 4:30 PM

Secret Mickey - PM Goofieslonglostsis with your information if you would like to participate. Please include your REAL name, DIS name, Cabin number, Favorite character, Favorite color, your interest, your likes...such as color, food, hobbies, smells, etc....and also your dislikes....allergies, etc.

Cut off for signing up is June 15, 2009 Names will be put into a hat and drawn from there. No changes as this gets to complicated. If children would like to sign up, we will have a separate hat for them.

I would encourage people to put ingenuity into their gifts - and to hunt the bargain tables and racks for gifts that may qualify. There are lots of options out there, so have fun with it. There should be at least 1 nice gift with a minimum of 4 gifts. The rest is up to you, if you choose to do more gifts or just the minimum, the important thing is that you have fun. A gift amount limit will be determined and posted here....so check back often!

Lanyards and Name Cards - PM Sftnslky, Maggie62677 or lexiconjoe with your name, DIS name and how many you want to order. Let us know if you need one for a child and how many. We will look into getting shorter ones for the children.

FE = Fish Extender Gifts - This is a fun "game" that was started several years ago by fellow DISers. For those who want to give gifts, please use the roster for names and locations of people. Participation is voluntary and you are not required to give anything to get anything!! All you do is purchase small gifts to put into the FE....this is usually done secretly. Some ideas of gifts are magnets, postcards from your state, keychains, pirate themed trinkets, stickers, candy, personalized candy bars, etc....This might be a good time to stock up on bulk items since we are in the Halloween season. Items do not have to be expensive. Just use your imagination and creativity. Cut off for sign up will be June 15, 2009

PJ Breakfast - Lumieres on October 2, 2009 at 8am. Group photo to be taken. More details to follow. Contact Fire14 if you will be attending. After seeing how many want to attend, I will contact DCL and see if we can do this. Cut off to sign up is June 15, 2009

Cabin Tours - PM Disney Sweetie if you would like to open up your cabin for a tour. We will start at the lowest deck and work our way up to Deck 8 at the Roy Suite. Date and Time to be determined.

I'm guessing the tours will be on a sea day and sometime in the late morning early afternoon so our staterooms have a chance to get cleaned.

I'm really looking forward to see the Walt/Roy Disney suites. Like I said when I signed up for this, my mother (parents) are in a Handycap stateroom and those have a real different look.

We just booked our pre-cruise hotel today! We are going to Disney (not the parks, just relaxing and doing hotel-hopping) for the 2 days before the cruise. We were having a really hard time deciding between Wilderness Lodge (have a 40% PIN code) and the Swan/Dolphin (good gov't rate). We decided on the the Dolphin. I just felt that the food/pool was better over there. Plus, we can walk all around the Boardwalk complex. I'm excited! Anyone ever stay there? All this cruise stuff is finally all coming together...it's approaching quickly!

Sounds like a good decision. When not doing any park, it is smart to be close to the boardwalk (and further away from a park, like WL is close to MK). :thumbsup2

Never been there myself, so can't help you out on that one.

I know I asked you about this a while back, but I don't think I ever confirmed. I need to check with my sister on her desires :rotfl2: and I'll get a pm to you with info. Do you have children on the list, or is it mainly adults at this time??? I also agree that the $30-40 range is good! Thanks, again, for doing this! :thumbsup2

Woo-Hoo - - good for you!!

I'm still debating on whether or not to add trip insurance. I will make my final payment on June 15th (after my credit card has closed for the month ). Has everyone else added trip insurance? Anyone else on the fence??

Hey Crystal, if you haven't yet, insure my trip is a good place for travel insurance. It is cheaper than Disney's with better coverage. We have used it before, although I will say, we have never needed to "file a claim" with it. Check it out online with a .com after it if you want. ;)

It appears that after DH and I went on our short but sweet DCL cruise I got lost on the way home, and have been trying to find myself ever since! :rotfl2: The kids are out of school now, and I've got to get back in gear with planning for the cruise as well as entertaining for the summer! :rotfl: A mom's job is never done!

We are doing a few days of FE gifts. My DSIS has decided upon two things she wants to do, and I just ordered stuff for the kiddos, along with the stuff I've been buying all along. I also decided on what to make for the ladies in the group , but still thinking on the men. It's gonna be fun, fun! Needless to say, there's plenty to keep me busy until it's time to make way to the sunshine state for our two week adventure!!! :thumbsup2

I cannot believe how the time has flown, and we will be making ressies here soon. As they say, time flies when you're having fun! Let the fun begin!!! :goodvibes

There are multiple staterooms with kids signed up. Think it's a bit 50-50 amongst kids included and only adults.

Take your time with the PM, you've still got about a week. ;) :thumbsup2

Has everyone else added trip insurance? Anyone else on the fence??

We added ours two weeks ago. Coming from the west coast WAY to much could go wrong..so we really had no choice. We went with access america with their classic plan for all 7 of us with pretty good coverage we only paid $279....which in the long run is a small price to pay for my peace of mind :thumbsup2

Hi everyone.....hope this finds you all doing well. I cant even remember when I was on here last. I need to try and catch up. Wedding plans are in full swing now with every weekend filled up until wedding day...Sept. 5.

I wanted to also let you know that my oldest daughter (Katrina) will not be joining us on the cruise. She will be leaving on June 30 for the Ukraine for a mission trip and will return on July 15. So please take her off any lists that you may have....I cant think who is doing what at this time....

Also, at this point, I am not even sure if I will be making the trip. Hope to have a more definite answer to that next week.

It has been a hectic past couple months.....

I will pop back in soon...hopefully with good news.

Ah, that would be so sad if you couldn't come along. :sad2: Fingers crossed for you. :thumbsup2

Please let us know if you need somebody to take over the planning you were doing for us.

Good luck with the wedding planning and trying to keep sane at the same time.

What else?! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Ohhhhh that explains it... We do not drink any alcohol..and I personally have never even tasted alcohol. Thanks for clearing it up for me...So the name Patron is by its self?? Not called Patron Duty Free..you were only saying that the Patron IS duty free. :rotfl: Now I got it. :lmao:

:cheer2:Good Morning everyone. The deadline for the landyards is coming up REAL soon..and so far only a few folks have actually pm'ed me and asked for them. Is this really something we all want to order/pay for? Or has this sorta been taken off the list? :flower3:Just trying to clear things up. If you would all like I can try to send you the photo of what I was thinking of ordering? Just let me know. :thumbsup2

Hi! I have made myself a to-do-list and Disboards is on it!!

I need to take Katrina off of the lanyard list if she is on it.....my group will only need 4. I guess it depends on the minimum lanyards that must be ordered as to if it is worth ordering them or not. What is the minimum and the cost?

I think I am all caught up now....lets hope I can stay that way!!! :rotfl:

Jetskis, that indeed sounds like fun!! :thumbsup2

I think my kids are planning on doing the jet skis at Castaway Cay

I know its the $64,000.00 question..but with our FE list growing daily I was wondering what most of us have decided to do? Are most of you doing just one big FE per cabin for the week? One small FE per cabin per day? Only doing kids FE's? Just wondering what everyone else is thinking. As my last post stated I had [4months ago] gotten "ALL" my FE gifts thinking how super organized I was :lmao::lmao:But now I am way behind in having enough gifts...

I have always done 1 per cabin....I will probably take a few extras just incase we have last minute people to join the cruise.

We don't know if we'll be doing any excursions on St Thomas or St Maarten. My DD6 would be happy to just stay on the ship with the kids club. But with my DD2 (will be 2 at cruise time), I think we're pretty limited. I sure don't feel comfortable leaving her in Flounders Nursery while we are out perusing the islands! If we do anything we'll probably just walk around by the port. WHere? I don't know...haven't looked into it too much yet ;)

However, on CC, my DH wants us to go parasailing. Anybody have any experience with this...worth the money? And we'll do the snorkeling thing too.

I have done the parasailing at Castaway Cay 2 times and loved it....it seems short, but the views of the island and the ship are just beautiful. It is so quiet up there....be sure to take a waterproof disposable camera and you can get some really good pictures of the whole island and of the ship. The guides are very nice also...last time I had trouble taking pictures from the boat of my kids while they were in the air, so one of the guides took some really good pictures from the back of the boat for me.

I guess it depends on the minimum lanyards that must be ordered as to if it is worth ordering them or not. What is the minimum and the cost?

Diffrent sites vary, but typically the minimum order is 50-100 and the cost is averaging out to be around $2.00 each. What does everyone think? I personally thought they would be alot cheaper...strange. But $2 each is good with us. :thumbsup2

I'm cool with 2.00/ea. We would need 3 adult size.

If we are Castaway Club members, do we get lanyards at check-in? I thought that I had read this somewhere. :confused3

Yes, you will get Castaway Club lanyards when you check in as at the terminal as long as you are "listed" as a Castaway Club member. My DH and I took a 3 night getaway in May, and it was his 3rd cruise and my 4th, and I have a Castaway Club ID card, but it was showing in the system as us not being members. Cast member was very good about it and gave us the lanyard as well as notified staff to give us our goodies onboard, but asked us to call directly to sort out the problem when we returned home. That reminds me, I still need to do that! :rotfl2:
