Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Hope everyone is doing well! I am getting ready for our annual Christmas trip to WDW this weekend. It's going to be cold (one night it will only be 47, but will feel like less) so I will for sure be bringing the Disney fleece shirts! I am such a Florida girl...

Oh, I'm so jealous!! I wish, wish, wish I was at Disney right now, especially at Christmastime. Enjoy yourself, and go soak up some Disney Magic to bring back to us. :goodvibes

HI all I have to say good bye. We have deceided to do the June 20th to Tortola. We really didnt want to take the boys out of school again (which we would have to do on this one) But due the the cost of other cruises we really couldnt afford to go during non school time. UNTIL Disney posted military pricing for a few cruises. The June 20th being 1 of them! Got hubby on board (literally lol) and we are off.

Hope you all have a MAGICAL cruise.. and ill be thinking of you in Sept wishing I was back on the boat LOL.

ps Maggie and Paul, make sure Fatcat lays off the mayo LOL (I had to Chris sorry!) :)

Hi all...we are back from our 4 day wonder:yay: Unique start to the cruise - with the Wonder being blown off the dock and all. Then it rained all day in Nassau. We did the dolphin excursion anyway. Wet is wet, right:fish: ? The kids loved it. Great pix, great memories. DS7 :simba: is already bursting to get on the Magic. I told him to slow down or he'll wear himself out - its quite a ways off for a 7 year old.

We acutally rebooked this cruise while on board the Wonder to get the $200 OBC (just had DCL give the rebook to our TA, then TA can drop the other booking). We are on the same hallway - just different room 5510 I think.

Can't wait to get to know y'all! Pretty chilly here in NC (48 today I think). Missin the FL:sunny: already.

Awww, sorry you aren't joining us, but enjoy Tortola!!!

So glad to hear that you had a great time on the Wonder, even with the weather and the dock issues. We are debating whether or not to book the dolphin excursion, but DD will only be 5 during our cruise and I really want her to enjoy it! I hear ya about this winter weather - it's wet and rainy here in Atlanta, and is only supposed to get colder.

Is anyone else getting into holiday panic mode? There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day or days in the week. What's worse is that I work part time, so I'm off Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays - - I *should* have a boatload of time. And, to top it off, our tree isn't drinking water so we've already had to take it down and chop off the bottom once. DH says this morning that he thinks its drinking now, but we'll see. I hate having decorations all over the house that we can't string on the tree. :headache: How's everyone else doing in terms of holiday stuff?

Crystal....

Im right there with ya!
Im home all day, Dh is at school and Ive gotten not much of Christmas done. Tonight the tree goes up. At least the outside is done.:thumbsup2

Hey everyone....just wanted to share a couple pics of what I woke up to this morning. I live in South Mississippi...only 60 miles from the coast....so this is highly unusual for us. I was born in Illinois and lived there for 15 years, so I have been in it before, but I still think it is so pretty! They are predicting 3-5"....we shall see.

Hi everyone from a cold and frosty UK.

Loves the pictures of the snow Pam. Snow makes everything so pretty when it first falls.

Ive been busy buying all my chrsitmas gifts, just a couple more and then I am done yipeeee. I find it harder and harder knowing what to buy each year.

I am spending xmas with close family, 2 grown up DD's and 1 nearly grown up DS, together with my 1st grandson who will be 2 in January.

DH and I leave for WDW on 27th Dec for 14 nights and are really hoping for lots of sunshine, to keep us going until our cruise in Sept :cool1: .

I hope you all have nearly finished getting organised for xmas. I will look forward to more of you posting about your plans for xmas.

Jan :wave2:

Post soon Jan

We are debating whether or not to book the dolphin excursion, but DD will only be 5 during our cruise and I really want her to enjoy it!

Our DD is 4 right nowprincess: , although she'll be 5 in a few weeks. She did the dolphin excursion with us and loved it! mind you we weren't swimming with them, we just did the one where you stand in the waist deep water and they swim up to you. She hugged him  and "danced" with him  and he gave her a kiss :love2: (to which she stated "he tastes to salty!"). I think it would depend on the personality of the child... they are big animals and that becomes VERY apparent as they swim closer to you, so I could see how a person under 4 ft tall and 40# could be intimidated. Our DD loved it but the other little boy in our group was not so impressed. He didn't freak out or anything but he was hesitant and backed away from a lot of the interaction. Our kids were really amazed and enamoured - we even bought the video, watched it the other night and they are still excited. Trust yourself, you know your child best:cutie: .

Finishing up the last Christmas stuff here. :santa: Since we were gone for a couple weeks, we are behind on decorating. Probably only get 1 tree up this year. I have to work Christmas eve and Christmas day (the price I had to pay to have Thanksgiving off:( ) Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Have a great trip to Tortola, Anewmac!

Welcome onboard, Hall!

Aristocat_lovers; hmm, we were also there that weekend. Wonder if we may have run into eachother without knowing it.

Dang, why are you guys posting pictures of snow and talking about cold weather? I'm freezing my but off already (just came back from the world, and it's freezing overhere :headache: ) and you guys start reminding me of...... ohhhh yes, cold!......... :scared1:

The World, ah what can one say about that. It still is a magical place and sure is during the holiday season! Unforunately didn't get to enjoy it like I hoped. On the flight in the airline wrecked my powerchair (it actually died on me yesterday on the Magical Express), and they somehow got the great idea to offload my manual chair, because hey....... why would one bring a chair onboard and actually need it at the destination? So that took them another 72 hours to get that sorted out. The fun only started there, I've been sick since the first whole day at WDW. Had back up antibiotics with me for the 'just in case', they failed, so had to get the doc in 3 times. That lying around in the room sure wasn't what I had in mind. :scared: But, I have to say yet again that the resort CM's were great! They helped out in every possible way.

For as far as I got a bit of the action; the World is still great, the Big Chees is still very cheesy and Donald still very tempured and well..... lady-grabbing-happy.

Christmas? It isn't too big over here, especially not when talking about gifts and stuff. Did get us some stockings (something they don't do overhere) and matching disney gifts for all, but shhhhhhhhht..... don't tell them until we celebrate on 2nd christmas day (yep, we've got 2)

Oh and for those having the oppertunity to take advantage; there is a big sale going on at WDW property. It's going on at all of the stores at the parks, resorts and DTD. 50% off all christmas stockings, tree skirts and ornaments. 40% off all baseball caps, t-shirts, red-boxed juwelery, time-pieces and something else I forgot about.

I got ourselves some great tees. They were already marked down from $20 to $9.95, but the 40% was being honored, so they ended up being only $6,- each. :cool1:

Hey everyone...we had a great time at Disney the 6th-8th. Used the Disney kennel for our little pup, and they seemed very nice. She didn't mind her time there, and the other dogs seemed good as well. She was only there for one night, but she bonded with the staff and they just loved her.

Loved the decorations as usual, except the first day we were there they were filming the parade so the decorations along main street were not complete. I'm not a big fan of that parade thing...but other than that it was beautiful. We stayed at our favorite resort, POFQ, for the first time at Christmas and I loved the decorations! But then again I love all things Mardi Gras...our guest room is even Mardi Gras themed (I know I have issues lol). Ate plenty of pastry in France, rode plenty of rides, and had an all in all great time. :cloud9:

I was on vacation for the rest of the week, but do you think I used my time wisely for Christmas preparations? NO. I just sat on my butt most of the week. Had a couple of social engagements, including our lackluster work party which ended up being three employees and one employee's friend...saw my boss pretty buzzed to so that was funny/weird at the same time. So now I am trying to catch up. Luckily I'm good in the present department, have the stocking stuffers sorted by person, most gifts wrapped etc...but I had to take a bunch of stuff to the Post Office today to send back home to MI. I was dreading doing so, and then my dad came by and offered to take them for me. SCORE! And he then took our garbage out for us too. I love my dad!

I am starting to get really excited about the cruise since it is just a little over 9 months away. I have a binder made up with planning stuff, including that GIANT tips list in the FAQ thread. I went thru and highlighted everything I thought was useful for us. Also making a packing list of those weird little things (highlighters, power strip, etc) that we will want to bring so I don't forget. Also even starting to think about clothing to pack! I have a dress I want to wear but I don't look as good in it as I used to (maybe those pastries from France are to blame?) so an exercise plan is in the works too. :cheer2: Anyone else trying to get in shape before the cruise? Maybe we could have a support network...I know I do a lot better when I have someon to answer to lol.

Alright so this is a lot. Talk to you all later!

I would :lovestruc love to join you or any others in our group. I have been having my own little :sad1: pity party...You see I have Fibromyalgia really bad and I used to take water arobics 2 times a week at our gym...but they LOWERED the pool temp to less then bath water and now it hurts me more to work out then not..so I stopped. Well I found out the other day that our gym lost their contract for their physical therpy pool, so now they are doing their own cronic pain water arobics classes. And that water temp is closer to a hot tub...so starting next week  no really  ok maybe :rolleyes1 I will start back...so I would love to be accountable to someone. pm me if you are interested. :upsidedow Enjoy your week.

aristocats_lover and sftnslky, I am onboard with the weight loss. I'm trying to cut back until Christmas day but an associate of mine just brought me a box of goodies as a gift. If I leave it here at work my husband will be mad but if I take it home, my will power will be non-existant. My clothes are starting not to fit and I sure don't want to buy a new wardrobe in a bigger size, in a smaller size yes, bigger no. pm me and we'll get the support group rolling.

I love our pool in the summer ... it gets up to 90+ degrees...AWWWWWW!
Now I have to convince DH to move to St Thomas!!!:rotfl2:

I was offically diagnoised 4 years ago, but they believe I developed it 10 years ago when I was prego with my last daughter. I have no one I can talk to when I have REALLY bad days so would love to have a friend for support. :goodvibes One of the 'bad' things about flying to Flordia is we have to arrive a full day and a half [if not two] before we board just so I can rest up from the flight and be able to enjoy the cruise. With 4 young kids I take no pain pills other then Advil, but on my bad days I end up taking 12+ advil and then end up throwing up because my stomach is sooooo upset  I keep trying to convience DH to buy us a hot tub, but the $$$ just are noty there yet, but soon :lovestruc Enjoy your Wednesday!!

Hot tubs are GREAT!!!
And here's another secret... get to know a massage therapist that can work with Fibromyalgia. Some specialize in it, My DH does. god bless his golden hands!:goodvibes
Im allergic to asprin and all those that are like it... so Im a Tylenol girl. 2 of your best exercises are :walking and swimming, yoga is awesome, just take it slow. Cant make a pose... back off and slow down. You'll be surprised what you can do in 3 months.:thumbsup2

I was diagnosed by the Dr that did all the research and named the disease. He thought I could have had it since I was 10, my mother and I were in a car accident. I was tossed like a little rag doll. That probably did it for me.
And on real bad days.. I dont even wish this on a rock.

Ann

Yes, have tried massage therpy, but it HURTS way to much and NONE of them understand how lite of a touch I need. And I can't find one that specialize's in it. :guilty: I had one cronic pain specialist tell me that he thought I had, had it since I was a teenager....I also was in a car accident..but my reg doc didn't agree :rolleyes1 so.....I know EXACTLY how you feel..honest to goodness I would NEVER wish this much pain on any of my enemies. :sad2: Enjoy your evening..have to go give the three younger ones baths and get my 12 year old into the shower. :flower3:

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year. I can't wait until the new year so that we will finally be in the same year as our cruise. I know it will make it seem so much closer to be in 2009.
