Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

We are 98% PACKED!!! Maybe couple of small cubes left to add to the bag and evening outfit for 1st dinner. With the help of packing cubes we were able to fit into large duffel bag and 1 carry-on.:worship::banana::worship:
Bringing also a travel tote as my purse for baby necessities.

Hey gang...had to throw my 2 cents worth in again.;) For all of those who are over packing, STOP! You will only wear half of what you're packing. It took us 3 cruises to figure this out:sad2: And for those who are trying to cut out bag fees by packing in one suit case, question? Where are you going to put the souviners (sp?) you will buy on the ship. And don't tell me you are not going to buy stuff...we thought the same thing, but ended up BUYING a new suitcase just to get the new stuff home:scared1::laughing::woohoo: We now pack a smaller suit case with our sons clothes in it and then pack the small suit case in a bigger suit case just for such purchases. Plus, we throw our dirty clothes in a bag and then into the extra suit case, that way my wife knows what was worn and not worn...see, we still over pack...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Still contemplating on buying Pirate Costumes? Anyone else getting dressed up? I am neutral?

Oh, Crystal, we have not heard about your Friday night's Rock Band ventures lately? What's up?

About the pirate costume, Ansley will definitely be dressing up, and Randy and I will not. We will, however, buy a pirates shirt or something to wear that night. Speaking of pirate costumes, though, the Disney Store has the *most adorable* pirate costume ever! I was so close to buying it for Ansley (although it's more of a boy's costume) but she still fits into her pirate costume of 2007....darn the luck!!

About the Rockband, definitely not been playing lately because Randy and I have been otherwise occupied with getting ready for the cruise. Maybe they'll have Rockband on the ship and we can all meet for it one night??

Yup - that was our experience too (although we still overpack - LOL). We're getting better, though.

Before I think somebody is too crazy, they'ld have to do a heck of a lot more weird stuff than you'ld be capable off if you ask me.

:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

2 MORE DAYS, HON!! :woohoo:

You re correct, I am overpacking!! I am indeed bringing a foldable duffel bag for souvenirs. Not planning to buy much, have plenty of it from previous cruises. Best souvenir was rum from GC called Big Black D... Rum, mmm, very delicious. LOL Love the name too!

Rebecca, got my final confirmation from Papa Bear, we are all set to go!!! I've cancelled the expensive DCL tour. Saving a lot of money on this one, which is much better! Thanks for a referal.

Crystal, def up for "Lit Up" Rock Band. I can just see you guys having lots of fun.

Poor you! :rotfl:

Sounds like a good way to scare away any pirate in a 10,000 mile radius of the Magic as soon as I get involved.

2 MORE DAYS, HON!! :woohoo:

Are you worried I'm not psyched out enough myself? No need to worry on that department. :lmao::yay::rotfl2:

Better idea...

Guiness and Nacho Bar

Pam put this on Facebook

Where would you like for me to put it FatCat??
:rotfl:

I learned also....that first cruise I packed so much stuff that I didnt need. Definetely need room for souvieners and FE gifts and Secret Mickey things....so make sure you have available room somewhere. I also put dirty clothes in a bag and then put that bag in the extra suitcase. :thumbsup2

My two boys and I are n for Papa Bear Package #1 at 9:30 in St Thomas. Haven't decided on a beach yet.

Did I book the same thing as everyone else?

:woohoo: Very cool. I couldn't believe how much we are saving by doing it ourselves. :goodvibes We actually thought about Saphire beach, but if you view Papa Bears videos..he hand feeds the fish at Coki Beach. And you can rent jet skis across the street for $45 half hour. My kids really wanna do both. :yay: Goodness on one hand next Wednesday can't come soon enough and on the other hand next Wednesday is coming WAY TO FAST!!!!

As for how much cash we are taking.. We always get 50 $1 bills for room service, we get 50 dollars in 5's and 10's for tips and such. And this time we will be bringing the cash we need for Papa Bear and for the ATV rental in St. Marteen. We have $800 OBC so that will take care of tips, photos, and suvies. We dont' drink sooooo should have fun with spending all that money:yay:.

Are you worried I'm not psyched out enough myself? No need to worry on that department. :lmao::yay::rotfl2:

No, I'm definitely not worried about that! I'm just so happy for you - - you are going to have such an amazing pre-cruise stay at AKV - - I can't wait to hear all the wonderful details!!!!

And you can rent jet skis across the street for $45 half hour.

WOW - that *is* super cheap! We're doing the jetskis at Castaway Cay and we are paying like twice that amount. You guys are going to have such a great time on your excursion! :cool1:

I can't wait to be there! AKL, CL and me. Sounds like heaven if it wasn't for only a week.

How about your start, though? Find out yet when they take attendance at TB's school? Will you guys make it for MNSSHP or not?

Forgot to mention, PhatCat likes it in the can

BudLightLime_full.jpg

Just sayin :lmao:

why does he have to drink it in the can - is it a secret or can he drink it by the pool :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao:

Just HAD TOO -

I actually wear all my old t-shirts on hot excursion days and then toss them.
I do this with old socks and underwear too.

We all have some garments of questionable life yet.

Wear and Toss....

I seem to acquire a lot of freebie t-shirts at work that I use to do yard work. They become excursion single use items.

Also you can wear the same thing twice...Just mix and match.

I wear pants to dinner but then after dinner put my shorts back on.

no bigee....Wear...Repeat.

For those of you who are doing Airline checkin from the ship there is a thread about certain airlines that seem to have not incorporated the baggage fee in this process.

Not sure how up to date it is but worth checking out...

Also when at WDW...All those souvenurs...

If you live out of state you can ship your items from a single purchase home.

You have to pay shipping but you do not pay sales tax.

So there is a ratio of being ahead of the game and convienance.
Add in baggage allowance and it becomes much easier.

Randy and I go back and forth about MNSSHP on a daily basis. Can you believe that the school hasn't even contacted us about Ansley missing a week?? Because they haven't called about it, I kind of feel like they aren't really that concerned (which they shouldn't be given that she's in Kindergarten - LOL). However, I feel like since I told the school that we would be taking her out on Friday at 11:15 a.m. that I should stick to that. However, TB really *really* wants to go to MNSSHP (and so do I - - we had a great time last year). However, it will make for *such* a long day (getting up at 6:00 a.m. and driving all day). And, if we went to MNSSHP, then we wouldn't get to check out BLT... See what I'm dealing with?

We will probably end up skipping it, though. If we were going on a cruise in 2010 instead of speading 2 weeks at the parks I'd feel a lot different about it. But, I'm quite sure that she'll get her MK fix many times over during our holiday trip next year...at least enough to last us through mid-2011. :rotfl:

Yeah, I think you do. Loosing some sleep isn't the biggest thing. TB could sleep during the drive down and in between embarkation and safety drill. But having to pick between MNSSHP and check out BLT? Difficult, difficult!

Bored at work on Thur

This first link is for a camera that you can control located on top of the Radisson. Most of the ships leave around 4:00 pm CST.
http://www.opusad.com/radissonwebcam/

This camera is located at the end of the channel for the port. You can also control this camera. After you can no longer see the ship on the Radisson camera, it will appear on this one after about 10 to 15 minutes. It gives you a nice view of the ship going out to sea.
http://www.capecaribe.com

After the ship has been visible for about 5 minutes on the second camera you can get a nice shot of it on the Two Palms Camera. This camera is stationary and does not move. The best thing to do is open three windows on your computer and switch back and forth.
http://www.twopalms.com/

This camera is hit or miss. It will either show a ship in port or it won't.

We finally got the school thing over-with. I got one call from the boy's principal who told me, "Although it is no longer in the student handbook, vacation is limited to one week per year. I see you are going out of town, though." Basically he will work with us, but we may not get "excused" for the second week. Whatever... lol

I've been awol going crazy trying to get things done. Bigferrell is working longer hours in hopes of flexing all or part of Friday to get an early start to his vacation.

Just four more days and we'll be on the road!!!:dance3:

I know - - it's *such* a tough problem to have, right? :lmao: We'll probably decide on Thursday night one way or the other. Since I'm off work on Thursday, I'll have alllllll day to weigh the pros and cons! ;)

What time are you doing the jet skis at Castaway Cay? We are scheduled for 10am.

WOO-HOO - we're on the same ride. We booked a double, though, so be warned that DH will be the crazy driving one, and I'll be the one hanging on for dear life. :rotfl2:

NICE (no doubt I will be - LOL)!!!! :thumbsup2

Well, that doesn't sound too bad with the school. Tell your hubby to hang in there with the work schedule. I'm doing the same type thing and will be working 10-hour days today-Friday and then Monday-Wednesday. I'm used to being off Saturday-Tuesday, so I'm sure that the 6-day stretch (with only a tiny 2 day weekend in between) is going to *kill* me. :guilty: The good thing is, though, that I only have to take off 3 days vacation from work, and will be off from September 24th-October 7th. :cool1:
