Sept. 26,2009 Magic part 2

My wife and daughter want to tour the cabins on the 27th. What do they need to do to get in on this?

Just show up at cabin 5509 on Sunday Sept 27 at 3pm....we will tour 9 cabins ending up in the Roy Suite....

What cabin are you in BigJon?

Anyone else suffering from pre-cruise anxiety?

I'm a first time cruiser sailing solo with my 4 year old boy! Am I crazy?! What was I thinking?!

When I first booked I imagined how relaxing and perfect the whole trip would be....and now reality has set in...8 hours on a flight with a 4 year old who doesn't sit still...Will I lose him on the ship...Will he have a "4 year old" moment and will I WANT to lose him on the ship...Will I forget to pack anything...Is everything that I'll need on my packing list...am I packing too much... I won't bore you with the list but the anxiety goes on and on and on!:confused3

Pleeeze tell me that once I get on the ship that somehow magically it will make all of my anxiety melt away and I'll be able to relax?!

As far as I'm concerned, you're a #1 mom for taking your son on this trip :thumbsup2 so take heart. Not every kid has parents so attentive that they are willing and able to do what you are doing. 8 hrs on a plane is along time no matter how old you are. :headache: have plenty of compact entertainment options. Last year we took Jenna (then 4 rs old) from NC to CA and she did better that we ever thought she would. Sending happy thoughts  As for the cruise - relax. you will love it! Don't worry about losing him: Mickey will take VERY good care of him while we, your DIS friends, help you take some down time. Last year Jenna loved the club: she had one time she paged us but by the time I got there she was over it and ignored me so I left her there :confused3 Expect him to have at least 1 meltdown just because he'll be exhausted. Most of us are packing too much so you'll fit right in. Even if we all have to wear 3 different outfits the last day of the cruise to justify bringing all those clothes, we'll just do a DIS fashion show! :hippie:

Oh, yes, I'll definitely be doing a TR. I have to find some way to fill the time in between this trip and my 2010 trip. Also, since I shoot in RAW format (photography) I've found that doing a TR makes me spend the hours and hours "developing" my pictures, instead of just letting them sit on the computer for years and years. I'll post the link when we get back in case anyone is interested. :thumbsup2

So interested! Go Crystal! I'm not brave enough to commit to a trip report, but I will LOVE reliving our cruise through you!

Sorry for all the cruddy weather you're having :guilty: Hope it clears ASAP so your trip to FL (and mine) are safe.

That is not my personal packing list but chances are we could help you out. With a nurse, a lumber store worker and a retirement community cook we have probably seen just about everything LOL.

Loving this concept ;) Between all of us there can't be much we forgot to pack. If its not in one cabin, write it on Crystal's white board or call one of the other DISers. Chances are you'll find it in another cabin

Enjoying everyone's ablsoutely adorable family pix. Not sure I'll get a chance to post any of ours in the next couple days since my 'to do' list is still quite long. But there's plenty on the website in my sig. One load of laundry left, pack suitcases (which is gonna require more thought than it should), pack FE stuff and other toys, go to MD to maybe lose Jenna's cast, clean house, proceed to FL.

Looking at the clock: Rebecca and her family should be on their way by now! 2 MORE DAYS :banana::dance3::dance3::dance3::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Whoa!!!

The gave KStategrad cabin of 2130 to Big Jon.

Big Jon you are now FatCats new connecting rooms neighbor. :grouphug:

You get the first and second bag fee waived.

This may prove to be cost efficient

Free bag allowance (2)
Free cocktails
Snack
More Space

Leave the wife and kids in steerage.

I have not been on the boards in a very long time. I had to wean myself. Two years early was probably a little much. Anyway I am soooo excited I do not think I can stand it. DH and I would like to tour the rooms, if there is still room I think DH signed up. Cannot wait to meet people and just start cruisin. A lot of 1sts for DH and I. 1st cruise alone, no children, parents, friends, et. al. 1st 7 day cruise. 1st time with a balcony, 1st time we bought special formal wear. With all of these firsts it may be the 1st time we never leave our room, except for formal night of course (tee hee, tee hee)

Reviewing the past couple of pages has made me feel very inferior. Have started packing, but not finished. Have not finished my signs for my door, have not bought all the things I need to pack i.e. baby spray on sunscreen, Have not made copies of emails, credit cards, first communion certificate (that's right I'm not catholic) Have not written two briefs that are due before I leave on Friday. Have not had hair cut and colored. Nail appointment is Friday morning. Have not lost 800 pounds. Have not kept in touch with people on the board. Have not refilled prozac prescription. However, I have packed champagne and glasses for sailaway and everything else will happen. I love the cruise mentality and the cruise life. I wish everyone a marvelous time and if I do not get off this board I will not get the briefs done which is a must.

I wanted to do this, but 7 am is way too early for me to be functional!

7am is way too early for me to be functional, too!

Last minute stress here. Was cleaning the electronic litter box and somehow now it's not working. Blah blah. That sort of stuff all day. Cleaning sheets for my mother who will be watching kitty.... etc....'

Suitcase is packed minus the toiletries and stuff!

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Same here!! Too early for me (although I will be up since my youngest thinks 6am is her normal wakeup time!)

I finally have one suitcase packed with one of my DDs clothes. Packing is finally making the trip real!

It is so quiet in here!

Had good intentions to pack today...never happened. :guilty: Between homework, housework, dinner, and downloading MP3s for the kids for the drive. Had to leave the house at 8:05pm for work. Unfortunately DH didn't come home from his job to take the kids until 8:15pm. :headache: Drive like a bat outa h*** to get to work on time but - oh wait - road construction on the highway :sad2: Having a day like Jules. Oh well. (Not as bad as my friend here at work who called to say she'd be late: DH totaled the van (he's OK:)) and the kids toilet overflowed so its raining in her living room  And she only called in LATE - now that's a dedicated employee ;) ) Tomorrow will be better.:cutie:

Nice to see you again Mal. Good luck w/ your briefs :thumbsup2

BigJon: good luck w/ Fatcat

It is quiet around here... I'm making some last minute door magnets so have spent the last few hours watching TV and surfing the web and boards for fun Disney pictures.

Quick question - DH was thinking of wearing his dress uniform for formal night - should that be ok? Alternative is his formal kilt (and my man has nice legs), which could also work.

Men in uniform are usually received incredibly well on cruise ships. :thumbsup2

DH wore his kilt the other day to a festival. My FB friends can see it in my mobile pics, I think. :littleangel:
