Cast of Characters: Me and my 80 year old DM
Okay today is the second carrousel incident. But 1st things 1st.
Get up. Make coffee Shower. Read paper. At this hotel (the BWLBV) we get the Sentinel which I like better than the USA Today. Yeah COMICS!!! Sun just starting to rise and go out on the balcony.A huge flock of birds start flying by. I'm talking several thousands of birds. They do this almost every morning at about the same time. Then about sunset they return to roost somewhere around DTD would be my best guess. But enough fooling around because today I am taking mother to Cindy's Breakfast. Have made arrangments for a cab this morning since I was not sure about the busses this early and we would still have to go through TTA. Off we go and DM says she had a good night's sleep and liked the bed closer to the floor here and also enjoyed the view and the birds. We get to MK about 8:15 and enjoy a leisurely stroll up the street to the castle. We are seated and the parade of princesses begins. Belle, Aurora, Cindy and Mary Poppins. We really get a kick out of seeing all the little girls dressed up for the event. I really wish they had something like this when I was little I would have been right there with them in my finery. Finish breakfast and head to Fantasyland. Get on the Carrousel. Now getting on neither of our horses this time was no problem, however getting off was another story. I dismounted fine but the ride left DM in the high position and try as she might she could not get off. So her she is with her rear half off the horse with one leg stuck in the stirrup. She just can't get the other down far enough to get the other out. I come over and catch her rear in my hands while she gets both feet out of the stirrups and ease her to the ground. Now I am 54 and she is 80 and the only rides we had any trouble with were something as tame as carrousels!!!! I then went on Dumbo which in 9 or 10 trips I have never done before. Loads of fun!!! Next was Small World. Went passed Philhamagic to see if they were open yet, but not today. Wondered around a bit more and checked out some shops Went over to Tomorrowland and did Alien Encounter, then took the ride around the area, and then did Buzz Lightyear. I got 191,000 and Dm only managed 2,000. She really enjoyed everything especially Alien Encounter since we were coming back here the next week we called it a day and again took our time leaving and just enjoyed walking around. We decided to do Pirate on the way out and checked to see how crowded Jungle ride was it was crowded so we went on back to the room. Friday was going to be a big day for DM as she was leaving for a couple of days to see some friends in northern Fl and had to pack up a few things. Had a burger at the hotel for dinner and finished off the wine out on my balcony.
Note: I am tracking down pins for a friend at work who discovered them on a trip to DL earlier in the year. So talked with several CMs and other guest with lanyards today. Wore one of the friends lanyards with extras she wanted traded. this was fun and I will do this everyday while I am there. I will probably do this again on future trips for her, but for me I still would rather collect snowglobes.
