I moved to LA in 2009, and met my DF. After dating for a little over a year, he proposed to me in the piazza between DL and DCA. We are getting eloping on the MR cruise in September. I had always loved a dress I saw years ago in a Bridal magazine, and I found a sample of the exact dress on eBay and bought it for $100. But then we decided to elope on the cruise line, and my dream dress no longer fit the destination. And since my Mother and Sister still live back home in IL, I was at a loss of what to choose.

I am an loyal KTLA viewer every morning before work, and always watched their Stranger Change Her makeovers on Fridays. So, when they announced they wanted to do Bridal makeovers, I figured it couldn't hurt to apply. They asked for brides that had already purchased a dress, but had changed their minds about it. It was totally for me! So I filled out the application, and 3 hours after I emailed it in, I got a call from the show's host, Crystal. She asked me to email her a couple pictures, so I did, and then she called back and said we were on for taping that Friday (This was Tuesday.)

I couldn't believe it! I had never won anything like that before! So I met everyone at The Grove, where I had to wear my old dress in the square in front of Nordstrom. I listened to my iPod as the hostess Crystal and the show's producer hit passersby up for makeover ideas and to fill out a survey on changes they suggest. After roasting in the sun for an hour in a super hot beaded tulle gown, we took a lunch break and met up again at local designer Joanna August's house in Beverly Hills. She has her studio set up in her guest house. I tried on lots of very airy and informal gowns, and they picked one they wanted me to wear for the show reveal on KTLA. Then, I treated to a hair appt. and makeup at Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills. They were fantastic and ended the day perfectly! We have to have the Live Reveal on KTLA the following Friday morning.

If I wanted the dress on the show, I had to purchase it because it was a brand new designer dress, and I couldn't afford the 3K tag, so Joanna the designer gave me the dress I picked from her collection from last season. Here it is!

I also wondered about your avitar pic as I am a loyal KTLA viewer.....

mamacrumbcake thanks. This is a first cruise for me and I'm obsessive about it and I think even my husband is starting to pick up my excitement. I couldn't even consider dropping out but have to admit we paid it all straight away too. Can't wait for my holiday and my cruise.

We don't have a room assignment yet, either. DCL told me that we may find out after the July 12 final payment date. They will know for sure who is dropping out of this cruise then.

By the way, we are from OC too--Trabuco Canyon. Am constantly in Irvine due to my daughters' activities, though

Kammy! Great story! So much fun (except some of the crazy changes some people wanted to make... black hair???).

Based on the photo of the dress alone, I think I like the new one you got from the designer more than the one you were wearing on the show.... amazing luck!

Hope you have the most wonderful wedding ever! Feel free to tell every CM on the ship so you get the royal treatment. That is one thing I love about Disney... if it is a special occasion... they will spoil you rotten!

Apologies for all my posts today. I've been a bit out of it this week as my husband is out of town for the week and my 4 year old is missing her Daddy. Plus it doesn't help that the temperatures are soaring here. Anyway I'm now taking a look at my FE list that I'm sorting and I have a couple of questions for peeps. I have a number of you that I have various information from reading through the forum but don't know if you are doing the FE or not. I booked last week for Palo brunch and dinner.

We had a last minute change of heart for our Cabo excursion and booked the Cabo Resort Beach Getaway. The lure of The beach was just too strong. We'll get our sightseeing and culture fix from the PV city tour.

I'm enjoying reading what others have booked so I thought I would share our plans. This cruise is my 40th birthday present and I'm looking to try all new advertures...go a little outside my comfort zone. My DH and I are planning to do the zip lines in PV and then Discover Diving in Cabo (full day). For our short day in Cabo we are looking to book Parasailing on our own. Anyone else booking these excursions? Would love to "know" someone on our excursion with us.

I love it! When I ordered mine last year (it's been a year since I booked..... ack!) the only Etsy seller I could find who made them was Stitches N Bows. Yours has a lot of wonderful embroidery! I wish I was crafty enough to make my own... it just isn't in the cards for me.

Who is soooo excited they can hardley think straight? This is not my first Disney cruise but it is my first Disney Cruise with extended family and friends which makes this just as exciting as my families first Disney Cruise.

This request is for anybody going on this sailing. Would it be possible to get pics / downloads of the menu / Navigators etc, that can be used by others doing the reviera this year and next. Also it would be very good if we could get any specific information on any changes that have happened in terms of activities and the ship itself post dry dock.

Thanks for the update! If we had more that 30 cabins, I probably wouldn't mind splitting into two smaller groups... I don't know how some cruisers manage when they have a hundred cabins to deal with!
