Well, I've been reading this thread for months and months and, I must say, if you all are planning to have as much fun on the ship as you've had posting on this thread we're all in for a treat. Thanks so much for all of the information, not to mention the laughs.

My family will be on this trip (DH, DD8 and DS3). We are traveling with a fairly large group...MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL (and their DDs 11, 6, and 2) and some other extended family and friends (20 of us total), all from the Dayton, Ohio area.

Like all of you, we are soooo excited. We pre-booked this cruise before the dates were released and I can't believe it is finally almost here. We expect to pick up our docs from the TA tomorrow. We were preliminarily assigned one of the secret porthole rooms (and MIL/FIL got one too, right across the hall).

Our guest room has turned into "cruise central" and is filled with things to pack. I'm generally pretty obsessed with proper packing, so I plan to do a preliminary run through early this week to make sure things fit and to go over the final packing list. (I love all of the packing list tips here by the way.)

Thanks again...hope you all have wonderful trips! :earboy2:

Brother Servo, good morning. I just tried to go to the allears.net site and got bounced. Maybe it's that suspicious personality thing again.
Then I "Googled the term and found that it is actually http://allearsnet.com. Season Allen's photo
Great job, Season, that is a very impressive photo. Is that a time lapse effect with the fireworks?

Sorry about that. I ususally just go in through wdwig.com and it takes me there, so I guess I should have listed it that way.

Eric ~ Color between the lines, read instrutions, and PC enough to remember THE IRISH? WOW! I'm impressed!!!

There's just a smidgin of Irish in this bloodline too... even though I have a passing interest in Michigan, it was good to see ND take on a top 10 team... and then take 'em to the woodshed.

Please remember to say a Prayer for all those lost in 9/11 & the United States of America. Thanks

Amen to that my friend.

Hi Dennis,
I heard giggling and laughter from the other room,
and assumed Didi  was posting something on the thread. :flower:
-WRONG- :earseek:
She has been sharpening her gaming skills by clobbering
one happless soul after another from a variety of countries.

Right now it's someone from the UK.

Now I see where Patrick gets his "gloating in the end zone" behavior. :rotfl:

Marsha ~ Congrats to your DH on his upcoming retirement. Appreciate his years of service. :teeth: Chrystina  is eligible to exercise her military retirement BUT just will not give up her ANG duty.

Marsha ~ GREAT exercise!!! Know that I would not have waited for the bus!!!

Bill ~ My Dad was a Boston Firefighter for 35 years. I was "raised" in a firehouse, like so many kids in my neighborhood. Remembering the quiet efforts of all public servants honors my Dad & your cousin. Thanks

KEVCARKC ~ Welcome Aboard!!! Long time lurker huh? SEE, I just knew you guys were out there!!! SO, here are two important questions ... Early or Late Seating? WHat deck is your herd on? We may be taking over the Dining Rooms if you guys are in the same dinner rotation. Again, welcome aboard.

Dennis

Bill ~ I hope you won't think badly of me when I dash DIDI's dreams. :rolleyes1 I have been playing cribbage much longer than she is old. My Dad placed 2nd in a State Championship ... many years ago, when they had such things!!! He lost to his BIL. :rotfl2: Cribbage is a "right of passage" in my family. NOT knowing where the cribbage board is ranks close to treason!!! Chrystina  doesn't like to play with me cause I am a bit too competitive when I play. :rotfl2:

Eric ~ Did you see the "catch" by Alabama? IMPRESSIVE!!! If not, turn on Headlines News. ~ Dennis

I saw it LIVE... well, as live as it gets when watching the game on a flat screen by the escaltors in Proffit's at the Galleria that is... :rotfl:

I'm a 'die-hard' Auburn fan, and even I was blown away by that catch. :earseek:

I don't think even Luke Skywalker ever 'used the Force' quite that well.

Question ~ Does anyone have experience with Internet Access on board ship? How is terminal time regulated? Reservations or Wait-in-Line? In all my trips, I have NEVER used it. :confused3 BUT it appears that this time I will have to ... :rolleyes1

Dennis

Kevcarkc ~ Welcome to you and your group. It sounds like this will be a cruise to create some great family memories.

Brother Servo ~ I hope I wasn't too annoying. In my web design business I'm always helping someone correct minor link issues. Season's pics are great. You are right.

Dennis ~ Thanks for sharing about the family. With or without terrorism, firemen put their lives on the line for others every day.
Didi has similar roots. Her father and grandfather were both Irish union leaders. Her dad was president of the steel workers union at Quincy shipyard, last name, O'Kane. I think she gets some of her cribbage skills from the French Maine side, too. They would visit her mom's parents during the summer in the northern peak of Maine, farther north than most of the population of Canada. When she was really young she spoke only French.
When I was little I first met Michael and Peggy Meehan when they arrived here from County Cork. They moved to NY and raised a huge loving family. Damien was the baby. He had a wife and child, and had just started a new job in the stock market. The older brothers are in the NYFD and NYPD.
For some reason, cribbage wasn't in my world, so I am a disappointment to Didi on that level. I have more Irish in my blood, by Didi has more Irish in her soul.

Hey, there! :wave2: You've been reading for months and months and didn't even say "hi"? :teeth: Sounds like you all have a big crew going on this trip, I'm sure all of you will have a blast! And you got the secret porthole room, Woo - Hoo!!!!! Have a great trip! :goodvibes

Hello, everyone!!

smilingmouse - I'm sure you and your "second mom" will have a blast. My mom and I are taking a short cruise together in January 06. I'm lucky to be able to travel with her, it will make for some interesting memories I'm sure!! ;)

Didi - Maybe you can make it up past your bedtime tonight! :rotfl: Just chug a few more cups of coffee around 6 pm and you should be fine! :teeth:

Marsha - Woo-Hoo for you on your docs. There was no way I would be waiting for the bus, I'd have been there before any employees got there. Just "patiently" waiting for them to open the doors!! But that's probably not a surprise, I am the one who attacked the UPS man. That is so exciting for you and husband about his retiring. :cheer2: Good for you all!

Dennis - Never used the internet on the ship, sorry! Thanks for reminding us all about 9/11. My thoughts are with them today.

Hey everyone!!! :flower:

Welcome Kevcarkc!!! It sounds like you have a crew cruising with you!! You will all have a blast!!! My parents are going with us also, they are 2 cabins down from us!

Thanks for the reminder Dennis! This is a really hard day for our country, friends and families that lost special people in the 9/11 attacks, our thoughts and prayers are with them all!!!

:thewave:

Just finished my "morning miles" :rolleyes1 which made me wonder what time the Fitness Center opens. Anyone know? Can't seem to locate operating hours for it.

It appears Twilight-Sunrise times will be running from about 0645 to 0730 for the most part ... And Sunset-Twilight times about 1915 to 1945. :teeth:

Just a little OCD attack there ... :rotfl2:

Hi folks,
I've been attached to the computer too long now. Didi, Patrick and I are going apple picking now, and then visiting Dave and family. :wave2:

Morning...er afternoon everyone! Life here is good, but hot!!!

Not a problem whatsoever, Brother Wart Hog... It was my bad in the first place by not giving my usual 'road map.' ;)

And I see where my darling DW  has posted another picture in her signature (I think I may have created a monster when I introduced her to Photobucket.com). How can you NOT love those two faces? :love2:

MKUSmile- awesome pic! It is good to see what people look like so in the terminal and Parrot Cay we will maybe recognize each other. You guys are cuties!

Julie- Yes, we went to the Plaza adults only. It was great. A little shopping and a lot of eating! How can it get better than that?

Yes, 9-11 still in my memories. Sorry to hear about your cousin!

I like how Dennis has sucked everyone into playing cribbage with him.........and now..........just now............he finally reveals that his Dad was the super de-duper champion of all times! You girls better start shaking in your boots. Practice practice practice, girls!

Welcome, KEVCARKC- Glad to hear you finally say "howdy". What a big group you are going with. You will have a great time!

Marsha- You should be a mail delivery person. They deliver mail come rain, shine, snow or high water. Sounds like that was your attititude about getting those docs! Good job, girl!

Baptism went well. I'm off for a nap. Go Chiefs!

Deanna
